This place is terrible, and although I work within walking distance to this store, I won't be shopping there again. I am a manager of a retail store and have worked retail for over 6 years. I know what customer service is, and isn't. Maybe I am unaccustomed to the whole " yearly planner retail merchandising plan" but I bought a planner in August and once I got home and wrote on one of the days I realized that the planner was for the following year instead of the current year. When I realized that the $25 planner I bought was for next year I attempted to exchange it for the current year. The sweet sales associate let me know that she couldn't return it because one of the pages had been written on. She offered to let me talk to a manager who said there was nothing he could do because I had "Defaced" the book and it was unsaleable. I now understand why Barnes & Noble is on the top 5 lists of many "worst places to do returns." I am pretty sure that this billion dollar company wouldn't be hurting to let a customer swap a planner that was purchased by mistake but hey.... I guess that's how you become a billion dollar company... They now have my money and I have a planner that is useless until next year. I will be visiting OfficeMax to spend more money in hopes that my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe store needs to start price matching. Upon entering the store I overheard another customers ask if the store price matched and was told āno.ā She looked at her kids and announced theyād go to Target to purchase their books at a less cost. I found a set of books for $13 less on amazon & had my spouse order while I was in the store. My eldest wanted the Red Sparrow trilogy and when the total came up, I was dumbfounded by the cost of $56. The cashier didnāt even care when I returned the Red Sparrow books 20 minutes after purchasing them when I realized how much less they were on Amazon. Continue to not price match and you continue to turn business away from the store. Oh, and the cashier mentioned I could purchase the books on the B&N website and pick them up in the store.....what????? Iām in the store, want to purchase the books, but you are sending me to the website for a lower cost. Epic failure by this Barnes & Noble experience. The store lost out on over $60 in book sales from my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis Barnes & Noble has a very friendly staff who are always happy to help. Even as I shop, occasionally, a worker will approach me to see if I need help. The store is clean and orderly with a vast array of games, stationary, journals, toys, and lots of pens, markers, and colored pencils, all of high quality. This time in my purchase qualified for a free b&n membership (25$ value) which was awesome considering I have been putting that off. I also saved over 10$ on my overall purchase. Christian was my cashier and did a wonderful and thorough job of filling me in on the perks I would receive in the future. I have found that some books are cheaper through b&n online so you may want to check to see if you can get a better price that way unless you don't care about paying a little more. I will be back soon! Love this bookstore and all the unique...
