You have heard of rude ownership here on other reviews, well let me add to that. Its sad that a small hometown getaway place like Ludington has such rude business owners in it. I say find the other more friendly establishments.
I note for the owners, If your going to live in America, living the american dream then by golly keep your cultures checked at the door. In america were innocent until guilty, I said I would not bring my dog and you were going to even refuse to let me check in on my months ago reserved room. I said I will not leave my dog here, you said then where will I leave her (like thats your business), but I told you anyway and you then said we have cameras and we will be watching you. I KNEW the RULES!!! my dog was not staying she was just in the car....I told you at the desk, I would be leaving comments on how rude you were and it echos throughout the web...READ THEM
Learn how to smile and greet people and appoach your customers with tact not hostile like. Even threaten me with no dog hair in the parking lot. GOD I just wanted my key, I know the rules. Your excuse, well people have lied to us before, my response...I am not other people....I hope this helps you and others feel the way I did, ashamed I ever booked here. I felt horrible that I was being accused of lieing, underhanded and dirt because my dog was in the car on her way to friends. Take some classes on business manangment..OR keep dropping your rates to lure in the type of customers you are shaded about.
ONE MORE THING....I feel sorry for your husband who does all the cleaning.....and your daughter you bring out for your defense of your attitude.... You speak english just fine, handle your own battles. That poor girl.
Room was clean, carpet is old sticky to a point. Bed was extra firm. tv old and remote marginal at best to work. Bathroom clean..Towels small and thin...Bring your own pillow if you choose to stay...location is the only thing that keeps this place afloat but there are 4 others that are equal...
Read moreWorst place in the U.S.A. for our 4th anniversary. I called and made reservations for 2 adults and 2 dogs, the owner does not speak english well at all and I had to keep repeating myself. Finally the reservations were made for 2 adults and 2 dogs, in a so called nice jacuzzi room. When we arrive they charged an extra $50 for..I'm not sure what, I couldn't understand him, so I payed $381 cash for 2 nights. We unloaded the car and took our things up to the room. There was no spout or handels to fill the tub and the room smelled, I was very disappointed. I went and got the dogs with the fear they may get fleas in this dump and as soon as i get in the room the phone starts to ring and i am told "no pets, you have to leave!" I went to the office and explained we have had these reservations and just drove 3.5 hours, all the other places in town are full. He shrugged his shoulders and kicked us out anyways and this was at 7pm on a friday. It took us until 11pm to find a place to stay for friday night and we could not stay Saturday Because they were full. Saturday we spent literally all day trying to find a pet friendly place near lake michigan. Finally at 6 in the evening we found a nice place in grand haven an hour and a half from home and we were able to salvage the night after our anniversary. Thanks ventura for the worst experience ever! We can travel the u.s. and never have a problem having pets until this experience. Most of the bigger places type in my name and it comes up 2 friendly dogs, we've never had a complaint or a...
Read moreBased on the outside pic, I thought the Ventura would be a quirky, vintage motel. However, I found the room horrible. Broken soiled furniture, cramped quarters, doorless hangerless closet, plus a (working!) window air conditioner. There was a crappy little table that you could use either as a table, or for your luggage, but not both simultaneously. There's nowhere else for your luggage other than the bed or the floor. The lobby was interesting with its plexiglass partition separating me from the attendant. Quirky indeed! And speaking of the floor, thank goodness it was NOT carpet. At least with the vinyl plank my socks could detect the overall cleanliness. Yes, it had a TV, fridge and coffee maker, and the room was clean ...enough (I chose not to look too closely.) |I got the impression that maybe there were longer term rentals. Travelocity led me to believe I got the last room (like the commercials?), yet the parking lot was mostly empty. Perhaps I got their last-resort room (if you'll pardon the pun). If you decide on this property, avoid room 30 with its hollow-core exterior door. |I needed a convenient place to stay to sail the following morning on the SS Badger car ferry. I guess the room suited that need, but at $125/night, I'll find somewhere...
