I've been coming to this park since I was a kid, when the playground there was brand new. It's a fantastic playground and has tons of potential for fun and games.
It is also one of the premier spots in town to watch the Badger enter and exit port, with the upgrades the city of Ludington have made in terms of the benches and tables adding more places for people to enjoy this unique experience of the last classic car freighter on the great lakes.

Somewhat small compared to what my son is used to but he didn't complain. Playing is playing, after all. It was overcast and sprinkling rain when we stopped. It wasn't bad enough to decide not to go however, it made the deck a little damp and the monkey bars were slippery. When we took a break from playing, we could wander around and look at some of the statues/art display or watch the freighters coming in and going out. The historical summaries along the pathways were informative.
