Did not have a fridge or microwave or working phone. It was clean and quiet and the people were nice. Most of the listed hotel amenities are actually just nearby activities. There is not a golf course or resteraunt/ bar on the property, but they are nearby. There wasn't even an ice machine. Though a sign said there was. No one gave me any information, and there was not a directory of any kind. The "Breafast" included was just a paper bag with juice and 2 granola bars and a mini muffin. Felt very safe, and the kids had a great time swimming in the pool, which had all the proper safety equipment available. No life guard . However, the maintenance man lingered near my 8-year-old daughter, a bit much, and gave me an uncomfortable vibe, though he was nice and helpful. Very busy area, but I saw plenty of young couples walking around. McDonalds was next door. And there were plenty of resteraunt in the surrounding area. A liquor store on every corner. It's actually a really good location for the activities we did ie. (Detroit zoo, and Cranbrook science institue, Lego Land, the Greektown casino, and Belle isle. Amongst many others) The pool was clean and nice a bit chilly still, but it's early in the season. For the price, this was actually a decent place. If made just a bit more family-friendly, this place could be great for families. A small park or pool toy rentals, even some local promotion for bowling or other popular family fun would make a world of difference. In the meantime , there is a dollar tree about five minutes away, and they sell decent enough pool stuff.😁

Wow, this had to be the worst motel I have ever stayed at. So freaking dirty and unkempt. We left a day early because we couldn't stand it. Let's start with the obvious, the bathroom door wouldn't shut cause it's splitting apart. The floor and wall had severe damage to them. The towel bar is bent and missing pieces. The ac unit is falling apart and you can reach inside of it because it's so messed up. I think the worst part was when I reluctantly pulled back the bed covering and found a giant urine stain....of course no one was in the office to get a new sheet as it was really late when I found it. This sheet didn't even look like it was washed as the stain was bright yellow. We slept on the covers with the towels under us. I have never been more disgusted to sleep anywhere.

Filthy I don't know what has happened with the management at this hotel but after returning keys during check in 3 times 1st room floor covered with trash no fridge... 2nd room fridge don't work... 3 room smelled like a bar...the 4th time I decided to clean my own room. The staff extremely rude I nearly blew my top asking for the pool to be opened during a heat wave. The only reason I booked the room was to allow my kids to go swimming don't waste your money on this dump. Guest spilling out on the walk way reeking of marijuana and alcohol. Sad it use to be decent now this 1 star is to kind. Holes in the wall not even patched just wall paper placed over it

8/24/18 was my check out, noon. I wish I could give this place a -0! This place is a complete dump & a disaster! Room smelled like mildew for days. Floor was super super super super duper dirty. I felt dirty after walking on the floor barefoot for too long. You need shoes & socks on at all times to walk around this place. Even shower shoes in the shower. Wallpaper is from at least the 1970's, TV is from 1999 easy.

The Bathroom door is nasty & filthy it was suppose to be white but it was black and brown and the door didnt lock. Toilet old, toilet seat old, bed old and terrible, door janky locks. This place needs to be torn down "Immediately". My bed Sheet/Spread (Elastic Sheet) was flipped inside out/turned over on the mattress. That lead me to believe that the maids didnt even change the sheet, just flipped it over so the guest can sleep on the other side the the bed spread. Door key never worked. Went through 5 keys in two days. Room smelled of smoke!

Staff is TERRIBLE. From the maids to the manager to the equipment guy. Everyone needs to be fired or retrained. Especially the front desk young girl. She's a complete dunce and clueless and that's putting it mildly.

They only thing this place has going for it is that it has a nice pool area. Other than that you would have to be completely desperate and low on your last last & I repeat LAST dollar to stay here. I'm a high ranking choice club rewards member and if I worked for Choice Hotels as an area manager or regional manager I would be ashamed to stay that this property is under my leaadership.

Most Roadway Inn aren't good away I knew that coming in but when I opened the motel door and saw the room my mouth dropped. It's worse than what I thought I'd be. Choice Hotels need to sell off this brand or do better!

On the same day at 4:15pm I came back. I left a piece of jewelry in the room upon checking out. Came back for it later when I realized that I didnt have it. The front desk girl didnt want to work with me AT ALL didnt care what so ever. They said the maids never saw it. I said its sitting on the table how did they not see it. He said come back tomorrow they went home. I told him to look in the lost and found. Just bc they went home my piece of jewelry shouldn't have went home with them. He said no come back tomorrow we dont have it. We looked everywhere. After 15 or 20 minutes of that I called the police.

I then had my jewelry in my hands within 3 to 4 minutes. So I called 911 back to tell them I no longer needed them to show up. They made the jewelry appear very fast after I called the cops. Thieves! For this place to have a 3.2 rating on Google is fake news. No way! It has to be staff writing the reviews.

By the way the Staff here...

I've had to stay here from April til july and its by far the most friendliest n clean n comforting hotel ive stayed in. The management n cleaning staff are absolutely wonderful n very friendly. If your looking for somewhere close by Detroit but not in the city, check it out here. You wont be sorry. I'm not! The breakfast is really good, rooms are clean n beds are very comfortable plus you get over 100 cable channels to choose from, other hotels your lucky to get 20. And hbo channels as well. Trust me i lived here, u will love your stay! Okay so for breakfast you get Donuts coffee Danish bagels 2 types of cereal coffee milk and juice isn't that what a continental breakfast is after all? Some people tend to b** and complain but you're not exactly staying at a 4 star Spa Resort you're staying at the Econolodge. All you have to do is be friendly and polite and the staff and management will make your stay very nice for you. And I quote there are no bed bugs. Everywhere outside you will find an aunt or a spider or centipede but we're don't you find bugs when you are outside if you keep your door open every now and then a bug will in so to simply avoid that happening get bug spray or leave your door closed. I tend to leave my door open so I can get some fresh air and every now and again a breeze will come through along with a spider maybe but it's not like I'm going to die. If you're so worried about bugs then go stay at a hotel where the doors are inside and you're stock with no fresh air. I will continue to stay at this particular hotel if and when I am in need of staying out...
