First, this is listed as a 'Hotel' on google, while their receptionist said they were a 'Motel'.
Their front desk is designed to let you walk inside or do your check in from outside, for security reasons. That was my first 'Oh, No!' moment. I did not know the door was open and I could walk in. The receptionist waved his hand to tell me to come in and I did. After seeing the coffee machine at the front office, I took a cup of coffee. However, there was no sugar or cream. Just a hot drink that is called coffee which tastes too far from a coffee. They said they ran out of sugar. I did not bother to ask since when, as I know they were a 'Motel' !
I was lucky to find a parking spot right in front the stairs to my room. But, it could be worse, they parking lot is not designed to offer convenience for all customers.
There was a large trash bag and pieces of trashes on the ground that were blocking my walk way from my car to my room partially and they were just making this place poorer and poorer.
After getting into my room, I wanted to get online. However, the internet connection was terrible at the beginning. I called the front desk and the receptionist said he has nothing he can do. I said, the room was advertised with free High Speed Internet, but I cannot use internet. He just said sorry. Then he also said he can try to call the manager. Just to see if it would help, I turned my laptop off and on, and then it the connection got better. Not sure, if they did something like turning on a wireless router near to my room.
There was a mini fridge and a microwave in the room, but no coffee machine. I know it costs tens of dollars to offer a coffee machine in the room, versus offering a TV, mini fridge and microwave. Terrible choice, management!
There is a little desk and plain wooden chair, however they are not convenient. There was an extra table that I could not tell its purpose of being in the room.
By the way, the mini fridge was making lots of noise. It took me a while until I can sleep, because of its noise. The room was looking clean, but I found a bug, and chose to ignore it to not mess up my night.
I was not given any shampoo and I asked if they were not supposed to offer shampoo. The receptionist said they are selling them at the front desk! I said this is a general practice at the hotel industry, but he said, we are not a hotel. I said, what are you? He said, 'Motel' and that is why they were cheap. Oh!!! That is why they can give you 4 pieces of 'paper thin' soaps but no shampoos. Yeah, it is against the rules of running a 'Motel'. Keep your great service and expect me to come back.
By the way, although the receptionist said they were cheap, they are not. I can find much better hotels for the same prices, in the $55-$70 range. I chose them for their location, but it wont happen again. I will choose to pay a few bucks extra and drive a few miles extra, and stay at a place with less issues.
Also, there was no hair dryer in the room. Make sure to not come with a long hair if you are staying here.

Read moreI do not like leaving bad reviews. I do my best to find something good to say, but there isn’t much here. This was a one night stay, thank goodness. The room was filthy. The floors were disgusting and looked like they hadn’t been swept or vacuumed in months. The walls were filthy. The bathroom door handle was broken, so the door didn’t close completely. Looked like someone kicked the handle, the door was crushed right there, and the handle was just about falling off. It also looked like someone had peed on the bathroom wall. The towels and wash cloths were very clean and looked new, so that was a relief, but we didn’t shower because the tub looked gross. The phone in the room didn’t work. One of the bedside lamps didn’t work. The beds were uncomfortable, felt like sleeping on cardboard. The tv didn’t appear to work, we couldn’t call the desk to ask what was up with it since the phone didn’t work, but after fidgeting with the input and settings for a while we finally got it working. The location is sketchy. We went across the street to the BP station for snacks, and as we were driving across the adjacent parking lot we saw what we thought may have been a dead man laying just off the curb. The way he was laying and the position of his limbs looked so unnatural, we thought there was no way he was conscious. We paused a moment, worried for his safety. We continued on and finished up at the gas station, then as we were passing him again he hadn’t moved at all. I rolled down my window and shouted at him several times asking if he was awake and ok. Not a movement from him at all. He looked dead. We were freaked out so drove away and called 911. We will not stay there again, and would not recommend this place to anyone. The only reason it has two stars from me is because the towels and bed sheets were clean, and we didn’t see any roaches or bedbugs, although we expected to once we saw the condition of...
Read moreThis was a quick trip with not a lot of thought about where I would stay as I just needed a cheap place to stay on short notice. My flight and car rental were more important. Didn't even pick this place until I arrived in Michigan. The room was filthy, especially the floors and bathtub and the TV did not work. At least there was hot water. The beds were ancient and the bathroom fan was covered in thick dust. Thought about complaining but feel sorry for the folks that have to work there. They already know this . I mean the only way a place could be so dirty is if the cleaning crew is only given $20/month for cleaning supplies. A simple broom could have made the place 50% better. Of course I will never be back....trust me, unless you are a trucker and only want a cheap bed and a hot shower, do not stay here. Finally, this goes without saying; never , ever take any family...
