Due to a series of unfortunate incidents I am temporarily having to do hotel living. I stayed at this location February 2-27 while staying there I had to move rooms three times during my stay. The first time was due to the smoke alarm continuously going off whenever I would take a shower. All their smoke alarms are hard wired in on the wall that shares with the bathroom. Which, the owners manual explicitly tells you not to do because condensation will set off a nuisance alarm. When I changed rooms, I took out all the trash and swept up a little. The room they moved me to was a slightly larger with a different layout. Everything was fine until it rained for three days and black mold appeared on the walls. I told the front desk about this and they still left me in the room for four days after that. I used bleach to clean off the walls but during this time I got sick. I don't know that it was related but four three days I was sick with respiratory issues and still stuck in the room which the black mold came back even worse. The lady that works at night, Melissa, is a total sweetheart and when I told her about it she immediately moved me into a new room. When I moved out of the mold room, I took out all the trash, stripped all the linens off the bed and vacuumed the floor. The room they moved me in that night was the same room type and was actually much nicer than the other rooms. I was in that room for only one day before they contacted me and told me I would have to move rooms because they couldn't rent out the one I was in. So once again I moved rooms, I took out the trash, and swept up the kitty litter that had spilled out by the cat box plus I was in that room for only one night. Now this morning they call me to tell me that I can't extend my stay. Their reasoning is that because I didn't accept room service by keeping the do not disturb sign on that my rooms were left too dirty and housekeeping doesn't want to clean it. This is ridiculous because as I mentioned before I didn't leave trash and I picked up each room before leaving. I don't see the point of accepting room service when I have cleaning supplies and a vacuum here with me and I have a lot of personal possessions in the room. Plus in order for housekeeping to come in and clean I would have to crate my cat and leave with her while they clean. That being said if I had been told my accepting housekeeping was a requirement I would have obliged but nobody told me that. I don't know what kind of a mess I could have left when I vacuumed, removed all trash (except for a bouquet of flowers I forgot in one of the rooms) and stripped all the linens. Maybe that's the reason, because I stripped all the linens including the comforter and piled them on the floor which forced them to actually launder all of the linens. ||Now as far as the basics go about the shape of the hotel. The rooms need to be updated, two of the rooms had a musty smell to them. I did not see any bugs so that's a plus. It's non smoking but some of the bed clothes had cigarette burns. The smoke alarms are a nuisance if you take long hot showers due to improper installation. The breakfast they offer is a total joke. Toast or yogurt is pretty much it. They only open the main lobby in the morning for breakfast otherwise you have to go to the night window. In the deluxe rooms the shower heads are awful and don't offer much water pressure. In room 102 the AC unit is really loud and obnoxious. The deluxe rooms have only three pillows and they are lumpy and uncomfortable. Two of the rooms I was in the desk chairs have hydraulic lifts that are going out and won't stay when you adjust it. There were some good things. The price was very reasonable and pets stay free. The younger gentleman working during the day was friendly and the woman working at night was an absolute delight she was understanding and extremely efficient. It's the owners that are a problem. Most of the guests are construction laborors so not a lot of riff raff. There was only one night that I could hear a couple arguing and it was quite disruptive. I did not see anyone that appeared to be engaging in criminal activities on or near the property. ||Hope this helps i might have given it three stars if not for the unsubstantiated request for me to leave because the housekeepers don't wanna...
Read moreI was going to start off by saying that for the price this place could be much worse, not anymore. The fact that this place has been recently renovated is made a pretty big deal on all of the booking sites. Having seen the pre-renovated place I figured I'd give it a chance. It has been renovated, unfortunately it appears there's been no quality control. The vinyl plank flooring wasn't properly installed and is separating in several places, there's a terrible patch in the shower, where no attempt was made to cover it up. They're also sure to state that this is a smoke free property, yet it's obvious that during renovations, no steps were taken to cover the fact that smoking was previously allowed. They just painted over the old paint, and didn't even do a a very good job at that either. The stale smoke smell is obvious as soon as you walk in the door. I only needed the room for less than 12 hours so these are things I could look past, but if you need a multi day stay, or especially if you're on vacation you might want to look somewhere else. I definitely wouldn't bring children here, there are more than a few sketchy looking people that appear to live there. I was given a double bed room, because they had no more singles. I was fine with this, even though I still paid full price, it was only $5 more no big deal. The sheets on one of the beds felt damp, so I switched beds, I would've requested a new room, if it wasn't midnight when I went to bed. That bed felt fine until I woke up the next morning and found BLOOD on the sheets. I checked them for dampness in the dark the night before, I didn't even consider the possibility there might be blood, especially blood that wasn't mine. For the effort I would've given this place 3 stars, but the blood is inexcusable. The towels weren't even cleaned well. I went to Wal Mart to purchase new towels to clean up with. Even then it was only in the sink because the bathtub was also obviously something not actually renovated. They leave an envelope in the room to leave a tip. Something I usually have no issue doing, no matter how much I've spent on the room, but it is mind-blowing that they expect one after seeing some of the stuff in there. The only good spots were the sink area and the TV stand which had a surprisingly large refrigerator, microwave, and TV with HBO. Be careful if booking here. I would definitely spend the double fare for one of the places...
Read moreCompared to other hotels I ve stayed in, it's not bad. The bed was comfortable. Everything seemed clean except the walls, not super noticeable but there were smudges around light switches and in the bathroom. The bathroom is very small, but functional. The rood seems to have some updates and had all we needed. Other comments about the TV were correct, sometimes the remote didn't work, it would randomly go to a menu screen with no way to choose anything besides just inputting a number, but after I figured that out, it was fine, didn't come here to watch TV. Everything worked, no signs of insects, not bad for a cheap hotel (compared to other prices around the area).
The worst part was, we were getting ready for bed the first night, and someone knocked twice on the door. I looked out the peep hole and didn't see anything, so I opened the door and still didn't see anything. Next morning, I was woken up by 2 knocks on the door, at 6:45 am. Saw someone walking away this time, but couldn't see who it was. Tried to get back to sleep but the people upstairs were obviously awake and sounded like rearranging furniture up there. I didn't get back to sleep. When we came back later in the day, I saw the cleaning lady on the second floor and found it odd she had a shopping cart for the towels and such. At 10:30 pm, it sounded like a daycare gone wild above us. Running back and forth, moving stuff around!there's furniture on tile floor), dropping what sounded like bricks. After 20 minutes, I went to the front desk and the man was very concerned and helpful about the situation and about the knocking on the door. The people upstairs had just checked in and apparently getting settled in, but he called them and asked if they could keep it down. He also said he would check the cameras if I called the desk if the knocking happened again so he could call the police. No more knocks. Overall, it was a decent place to...
