I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn on Madison Blvd, Huntsville, AL and I must say, my experience was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt welcomed and taken care of. Here's why I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area:
Location:
The location is ideal—situated in a central area with easy access to shopping, dining, and popular attractions. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, this hotel provides the perfect balance of convenience and comfort. There’s also plenty of free parking, which was a big plus for me.
Check-in Process:
Check-in was smooth and efficient. The front desk staff were friendly, professional, and made sure I had all the necessary information for a stress-free stay. They also offered helpful recommendations for things to do nearby, which was appreciated.
Room:
My room was clean, cozy, and well-appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable with soft linens, which allowed for a restful night’s sleep. The room had all the amenities I needed, including a coffee maker, a flat-screen TV, and a spacious work desk. The bathroom was spotless, with high-quality toiletries provided. The best part? The room had great soundproofing, so I was able to relax without being disturbed by noise from the outside or neighboring rooms.
Amenities:
The hotel offers great amenities that make your stay more enjoyable. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals—particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had a wide selection of fresh and tasty options. There’s also a fitness center and a pool, which I had the chance to check out. They were clean, well-maintained, and perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing.
Customer Service:
What truly stood out was the outstanding customer service. Every staff member I encountered—from the front desk to housekeeping—was friendly, polite, and eager to assist. They ensured I had everything I needed and were always willing to go above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Customer satisfaction is a top priority here.
Overall Experience:
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn [insert location], and it exceeded my expectations. It offered a perfect blend of affordability, comfort, and convenience. If you're looking for a reliable, comfortable place to stay with exceptional service, this is the hotel to choose. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone...
This has to be one of the worst locations I’ve stayed in this far. The trip started with me calling ahead to verify there was going to be an airport shuttle van to pick me up at the airport! The response was, sorry, you need to take an Uber. I get to the hotel approximately $15 later for a 5min ride to find no one at the front desk. Turns out the desk clerk was on a personal call in the back after waiting 4-5min to check in. This front desk clerk has no personality whatsoever, tells me she the only person there, gives me my key card, says something really quick (I could not understand what she said)and sends me off. I get to my room and it has a faint burnt smell with a hint of marijuana. I understand its legal in most states but I doubt it is inside the building. I did not call the front desk due to the unpleasantness of the clerk. That evening, I went to try and find a place to eat and everything was closed. I went back to the hotel, purchased a tube of chips, a small box of candy, a soda and a bottle of water for about $15. I went to pay for it and long and behold… I found myself waiting for the desk clerk 10min before paying for the items just to get to my room and find the tube of chips was old and stale. I gave up, threw everything away and tried to go to sleep. I spent less than 48hrs at this hotel before traveling back out. The following morning, I went to have breakfast to find the cheese omelette I had was so hard it could break teeth or knock someone out. The breakfast was less than mediocre and the staff was not in any hurry to fix it. At my checkout, it was a different clerk, same attitude. The two nights I stayed there, the airport van was sitting in the same spot as the day I checked in. I asked the clerk if it would be possible to get a ride to the airport, and once again I was turned to Uber or she told me to hitch a ride with some other folks that were heading to the airport. I should not have to hitch a ride from anyone much less from people I do not know. I hailed an Uber and approximately $15 later I was able to get to the airport. I will not be staying at this location again anytime soon that is for sure, and I have never written a review this long either. What I have witnessed during my stay is the staff was what made this stay extremely uncomfortable and gave me a sense of not being content with there jobs. I hope someone else finds...
Read moreThe great:
I stayed here for six weeks and was greeted every morning by Brittany in the kitchen--she puts out a lovely variety of food. Before I went to work and when I came back, Liz, Laurie, Sara, Christina, Kasey, Chris and others bid me farewell and greeted me and my counterpart with a smile. Nadia and the other housekeeping staff kept the rooms tidy and the area clean. I wish I had caught some more of their names. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, hot water and great pressure, and sole control of the thermostat. Monday-Thursday, delicious cookies after 4! Monday night-beer, wine, soda or water and snacks from 5-7. The pool and hot tub are finally functional!
The minor inconveniences that I got to know because I stayed so long:
The fitness center functions, but needs some love. If you need to get anywhere in a hurry-take the stairs. If you are particular about your coffee, bring your own K-cups. If noise keeps you up or wakes you up, ask for a room on the back of the hotel--I'm told it's quieter. If light bothers you, cover the microwave and shove a towel by the door. If you are next to the housekeeping closet, prepare for a vibrating bed when the washer is on spin cycle! This was more a surprise than an inconvenience
Speaking of wash:
If you do your own wash, $2 for a wash--it may or may not rinse out the soap from one tide pod. Never do more than one, no matter what the directions on the bag say. If you have to do two loads back to back, the dryer (another $2) runs 99 minutes. The washer runs 34. You can easily dry both loads in 45 minutes each. The settings are hot, hotter and nearly on fire. So be careful with any clothes you're particularly attached to.
If you're not used to snow in the south:
Stay in.
I overall really enjoyed my stay here, particularly with the friendly faces I...
