Pay for what you get, we didn’t have high expectations for the room but these are extremely tiny rooms. I did a clean over with my own cleaning products but that’s something I personally do, after working in hotels for 7 years. Due to the pricing of the monthly rate the rooms made more sense but also put into consideration what other types of guests will be staying there due to the cost. The property is surrounded by 2-3 other extended stay building which look much nicer but again paying a higher rate. Makes sense but a little deceiving as you’re pulling in. Room was clean and cleaned once a week, scheduled through the front desk. Hallways did however smell like cigarettes and various other things. Keep in mind these are all non smoking rooms too. The head housekeeper Ivey was very friendly and sweet. Staff was friendly at the front desk; Carley, Max and unfortunately I am spacing on the third one that did his best to make our stay enjoyable. The reason why our stay is rated at two stars is just out of safety concerns. Cops were called at least three different times for various reasons and quite honestly I didn’t feel comfortable walking around the place without my husband. We talked with one of the cops and when we told him we were checking out his response was “I would highly recommend that”. Again, pay for what you get. Have nothing negative to say about any of the staff, they’re aware of what they have to deal with on a regular basis and it’s understandable. This isn’t going to stop us from staying at “Extended stay” in the future but we will definitely be dishing out more money to make sure we do not ever have a similar experience.
In response to your response; again the room was not the issue at hand. Although many of the light fixtures and plugs did not work. The room was as clean as it could be. My main concern of the hotel is safety, no cameras in the hotel hallways or stairways only at the entrance points of the stairwells. Which really we didn’t even know if they worked or not. I had a scenario of a gentleman following me up and down the stairs three different times within minutes and when I expressed my concern to management it was brushed off because he didn’t do anything to me. Other than make me extremely uncomfortable and feeling very unsafe and exposed. The smoking in the rooms to where the rooms/ stairwells and etc stunk of all sorts of things is a total different issue at hand. The people lingering around in the parking lots that just didn’t belong. I don’t know how many times we came back and there was a rock in the door to allow access to just about anyone. Honestly when my husband and I booked extended stay we were blown away when we pulled in. We booked for a month and thought that was the reason for us being in the building we were. Like, the nicer properties were for short term guests. But guess that was a failure of research on our end. Don’t even me started on the room keys. We would have to get our keys re issued at least 1-2x a day. We are familiar with staying in hotels and have worked in hotels so we know the typical keep away from your cellphone and other electronics. But this also, raised a safety concern because anytime you were walking in you almost immediately knew you’d have to go get a new key to ensure access to your room. We have never had an experience such as the one at your location.
Just to follow up I remember the other gentleman was Kenny. He was extremely polite. The staff you have made the stay somewhat bearable but quite honestly safety is a major issue at this location. Not only for your guests but also for your staff. The fact the police were able to be on property within moments of calling is not ever a good sign.
Thank you for your...
Read moreWe booked a stay with breakfast included through Booking, only to find out on the second day that they no longer served breakfast, even though we had already been charged for it.
We tried to contact the hotel manager about this issue, but she never responded to our emails. We were at the Orlando parks during her working hours.
Days after the manager did not respond to our emails, we spoke to a "new manager" at the front desk. She apologized for the breakfast issue, saying that we would be refunded 15% of our total reservation in cash at check-out (the same payment method we used to book the reservation).
At check-out, we were told that a cash refund was not possible and that we would be given a check. They alegated that this "new manager" had made a mistake and didn't know the hotel processes. They did not take into consideration that we would have to travel to Argentina to cash the check. We explained that this was not a viable option for us, but they refused to budge.
We had to argue for about an hour about this inconvenience before they finally agreed to give us the money that we were owed.
On the other hand, when we arrived, the Wi-Fi only worked if you were standing by the door to the room. Once you entered the room, your phone would no longer detect the Wi-Fi network. The front desk told me to "call support," even though Wi-Fi is a service that I was paying for as part of the reservation cost. They still refused to take responsibility. I had to ask to be moved to a different room to be able to get a better signal from the router.
The room had a kitchen but in case of wanting kitchen supplies, you had to pay for them. This was in contrast to our previous stay at a hotel in the same chain, where those supplies were provided to us free of charge.
I would not stay at this hotel again, even if they offered me a free stay. Terrible attention...
Read moreFirst off, that is not the hotel in the picture on Google. That is the Extended Stay next door. 1760 is a much older and used up building.
Hotel staff simply does not care about the business and it shows! Expect to wait on receptionist to finish their conversations before they attend to your needs. The hotel ran out of washcloths and I was offered a stained kitchen rag to clean my body with. Ask yourself is this something you would use yourself? If not then make it better. I let the front desk know about some roaches in the room and was handed some generic bug spray and told management would get back to me.... still waiting. This hotel has a contract with Orkin for pest control, management simply needs to call Orkin for follow up visit. Guess that is not as important as detailing your evening to your co-worker. I waited a week to have my room cleaned because this hotel does not offer cleaning and the only thing that was cleaned was the carpet, not the entire carpet, mind you, but portions of the carpet. The cleaning was also a day late, because the staff simply did not get around to cleaning the room. The hotel was empty the day of scheduled cleaning, since it was a family holiday. The staff might even need training on what cleaning is, since they don't use any cleaner when mopping the floors. It is essential that the staff adequately clean the rooms to prevent pests, again not a priority it seems, at this hotel. Its to the point that you would not want the staff to clean your room with their nasty water and dirty equipment. Extended Stay Corporate should look in to this hotel. A customer’s business is a privilege not an inconvenience. Bottom line, run the hotel like a hotel you would stay at. The only reason it is beneath you is because of poor work ethic and lack of responsibility towards the business...
