Preface** this will be long, but just know it ends good *My stay here at this hotel was not business and it was not vacation. It was somewhere in the middle where I was waiting to get into a rental property so I had to stay at this hotel or it’s where I chose to …. This was very different and being with my two older children and my family dog all in one room for an extended period of time….I had to learn the rules as we went because Not staying in a hotel for any significant length of time before they are managed different for extended stays, hence the name.....There was a dog fee for our pet which was $28 for the first 6 days and 11.25 for each there after so that was really nice that they drop it down like that for you. Everybody at this hotel had pets it was very Family oriented. Let me just say dogs. it was just it was fun I also like that if you have a pet, they give you a magnet to put on the front of your door so that everyone knew that you have an animal in your room because we have a 90 pound Pitbull dog and I promise you that you don’t wanna open the door and go in our room unannounced so it was very Helpful to have that to be able to put on our door so that everyone knew, they knew that we didn’t want people coming and cleaning. They knew that we didn’t want people just abruptly knocking at the door and really loud or anything like that because they knew we have an animal in there so and only if you’re an animal person and you have animals, will you know what I’m referring to, but it’s very helpful and as time went on you know we became more friendly and familiar with the staff so when you’re staying somewhere for one day or two days even a week You become, you know more familiar with who you’re dealing with at the front desk and who to go to for this or who to go to for that because these aren’t the types of hotels in rooms that are cleaned on a daily basis that’s why it’s called Extended Stay because people stay for an extended amount of time and you if needed you know may have to go to get things that you need from one of the staff in between cleanings or whatever it is so as time went on you know we became more familiar with that. By the end of the first week they were calling me by my first name anytime they saw me hi Miss Angela how’s your day going super friendly, super super friendly, always asking you how you are always asking you about your day. My grandkids came on the weekends to visit with me because I was at that hotel again for several months so they knew my grandkids and said hello to them anytime they saw them ask them how they were doing....they’re small kids so you know just being friendly and engaging with them anytime they saw them. Also asking me about them when they weren’t around are you gonna be seeing your grandkids this weekend? How are they doing? There is a lady by the name of Michelle that works at the front desk and she was probably the one that we saw or dealt with the most out of everyone and she was just absolutely amazing but so were the rest of the ladies up there too …. Rodelyn, Roselyn and Yvette!!!!! these were the other three ladies that we were always mostly dealing with and they were all delightful! Made the stay really nice. I don't want to leave anyone out because there are a few others I just don't know their names. There are three hotels grouped right here in this area and I am so glad we picked this one. It really made a difference for us to stay at a place that has such a great team running things. I am so appreciative of their hospitality!!! Thank you for everything....

Read moreIf you have to get an Extended Stay suite... for whatever reason.. this is the place to stay. They truly take care of the ammenities, everything is always clean, and the staff become extended family. If that rent money is not in, they must ask that you leave. In their hearts, they would like to give you extra time, but the higher-ups put pressure on them. I get it. This is a business, and it is nothing personal. It would be nice if residents were allowed to use the dining area during the day for luncheons or seminars, etc. The front desk lady said that is a corporate decision. I would also like to see a different variety of treats since all of the muffins and Nutri-Grain bars have the "bioengineered ingredients" label on them. This is an issue for me, so I aim for moderation for myself and my kids. About the pests... I am starting to accept that it is just a fact of life when staying in places like this. I am sure they are not as abundant at luxury 5 star hotels near the tourist areas (if present at all), and I wonder how they manage to never have roaches while smaller hotels cannot seem to get rid of them. I am thankful that I have no problems with bedbugs and rodents. Being here has made me think about gratitude and how unfortunate others are who wish they had a place to stay but could not afford to stay here. I must say that soon we will move into a large house, but for now, this is a wonderful place to stay. The staff seem to honor this brand and their jobs. I love the neighbors and the pet friendliness. I even have a different heart posture, a sense of empathy for the pests. I must keep their numbers down, and I feel bad. I mean, the number of pests you have to murder daily to avoid having a swarm... It makes me think that some kind of awful karma has to head my way so the universe can achieve balance. Taking innocent lives each day wears on your spirit, or at least it wears on mine. The biggest reason I want to move is so that I won't have to live with pests and I will not be destroying little souls every day. But I guess that makes me a weirdo. I don't even bother ant mounds. I think all God's creatures have a stake in life, even though, ambiguously, I admit to hating mosquitoes. Bottom line: Come here, stay here. You will relax, enjoy the pool or the fitness room, have some yummy morning snacks and fresh coffee, and when you are back in Maitland... come and stay here again. I love this location! Thanks...
Read moreIt was below expectations due to the following: 1- incredibly slow wifi. So much so that using even basic email was difficult. Forget about doing any meaningful business. For whatever reason the hotel is also miserly about giving out the wifi password - my friend checked in late the evening before and was told he could not get it until the next morning when a manager came in and i had trouble getting a password to connect when i came early and wanted to just use the wifi in the lobby while i waited for my room. 2- the room had a good layout but lacked amenities and the fridge was old and somewhat dirty on the outside (see pics) 3- while the day shift manager and the night shift front desk staff were friendly, others on the day staff need basic customer service training. I did not feel welcome when I first arrived and i witnessed multiple other guests having trouble effectively communicating with some of the front desk personnel during the day. Additionally there was a day shift female supervisor who sat in a room near the front desk and gave commands to the front desk personnel but declined to actually come out and talk to customers who had concerns with her decisions. That's a problem on many levels. 4- the pool area is fine for a hotel of this level but the lobby is sorely outdated and uninspiring. 5- i did like the fact that the hotel was pet friendly and there were numerous animals there. That's cool. At the same time my room had a strong odor of carpet fresh and it was a bit overpowering. I heard another guest complain about this too.
I have stayed at the Marriott that shares a parking lot with this hotel and for $20 more it's a far superior property with a staff that always welcomes me. I tried ESA because a friend recommended but I think once is...
