I hope you like reading, lol. We came tonight, Friday 12/13/19 at around 6:45pm. When we walked in, we were greeted by a sweet young lady who seated us immediately. I thought they were closing soon because the lights were bright, there was a smell of cleaning solution, and there was no music on. When I asked what time they were closing she said "ten". The floor was very sticky and I didn't like the way it felt when my shoes stuck and made the sticky sound. The empty, aluminum foil-lined buffet containers gave me a lonely feeling. The restroom floor was also sticky and had a terrible paint job, and it was in a weird area, like in the back for the employees. I felt like I was going somewhere I wasn't supposed to be. Atmosphere was just yucky. Anyway, now about the food. When we sat down, a cheerful man brought us Kirkland bottled water, which we didn't open and drink, because we care about environmental issues. I ordered samosa for an appetizer. It came out quick, large, and hot and yummy. It came with cilantro sauce and tamarind sauce which was "ok". (I like more flavor). I ordered a Stella Artois beer but he said he didn't have it. He offered the Taj Mahol beer for the same price, which I thought was very professional. It was not very cold, but I did like that he opened it at our table and poured it into the mug, and I liked the mug. For my dinner I ordered Aloo Matter. I said I didn't like excessive oil but it came out heavily laden with oil. Also I wanted the spice level "hot", but it came out not even hot enough for my daughter to say it was hot, lol. And she does not like hot spices! So I told the server and he offered to remake the dish with "no oil" and spicier. It came out looking like it was "whipped" sauce to hide the oil, but it was much spicier (which I liked). But by then I was turned off by the way it looked. I just had a few bites, left the rest, paid for it and left. I won't be back. It's sad because those...
Read moreStopped in for lunch on a weekday as I'd heard good things from co-workers about this place.
Came over around 1pm and it was about a third full, mostly singles or two tops. Person at the front asked me how many and then directed me to a table. He was quite curt and not very personable but not exactly rude either. I walked to the table, and it was very dirty. Dirty as in someone had clearly eaten there recently and noticeably so. I stopped and looked back to see if this was the table he intended. When I did, I noticed another employee standing to my side and just behind me. He looked at the table, then at me, and then walked off. I assumed he was going to come back and clean the table. There were others like it so it was likely from their lunch rush.
No one ever came back. I sat at the dirty table for just over 10 minutes and not a single person ever acknowledged I was sitting there. I counted one employee sitting along a back wall, watching TV. They were playing Indian music videos from YouTube - which I'll admit was pretty entertaining.
There was the guy at the front desk and I have no idea what he was doing. Then there was the guy who was behind me. He wandered aimlessly, doing absolutely nothing for the 10 minutes I sat there.
And then there was a woman who kept coming out from the back to refill the buffet. She was, hands down, the hardest working person there. No one else was doing anything at all. I never saw them visit any of the tables that were already there, some of which were waiting for their bills to get back to work.
The food smelled good, but that's as far as I got. I left after waiting and seeing the silliness going on in there. No intentions of going back either. Would definitely not recommend if you care an iota about service, cleanliness, or value your time. 10/10...
