First, there is no way someone gave this place 5 stars. They had to have hired a company to boost their score. I've been to Marriott's that I haven't given 5 stars to. When you first walk into the lobby you are immediately hit with an odor of cigarettes and marijuana. It doesn't get any better in the hallways or elevators. Then I entered the "smoke free hotel" room and it also smells like smoke. I was forced to go out and buy some Fabreeze and a scented candle. I'm not actually sure if I managed to get rid of the smell or I just got used to it. The carpets in the hallways and my room were filthy. I would always wear socks or sandals in the room. There were no utensils, pots, pans or plates. You have to request them. Would not be surprised at all if you have to leave a deposit, much like the $100 "refundable" security deposit. I haven't seen it deposited back into my account yet. The refrigerator is old, rusting and dented. The outlets are very loose. I had a hard time keeping my charger and power cord in. The recliner chair is old, but serviceable. The bed, I never pulled the sheets down. I was afraid of what I might see, and I needed the room for about a month. Admittedly, it was actually comfortable along with the pillows. The shower/tub was horrible. The ceramic had completely worn away about 12" from the drain (pictured). And the drain wouldn't drain after the 2nd day. There is not a hair on my body longer than a half an inch. I asked for maintenance. I was told there is no maintenance on the weekends. So I was supposed to go Friday to Monday without a draining tub. The water was literally ankle deep. So, again I had to go out and buy some Draino. All the faucets have water restricting aerators, including the shower. It takes a while to rinse the soap off. Three weeks went by and not once did someone say - Mr. Tim, would you like your room cleaned? Nope, I had to ask. The wifi is sooooo weak. You can use a phone or a laptop, but nothing else. If you or your kids are gamers you will probably have to pay to upgrade it. one surprise, I can honestly say I did not see one bug in the hotel the entire stay. And then there was the issue the last night I was there. The entire stay, and always at night, I would hear this banging sound that sounded like a small jack hammer. I didn't want to start anything by knocking on the room below me. But the last night I had had it. I go down to the first floor and I quickly realize it's not another room, it's the hotels laundry. I was livid. I approached the front desk and insisted that they turn off the equipment. The girl refused. I made sure the two people at the front desk knew that if they didn't turn the equipment off I would find a way to enter the room and pull all the cords. When I returned to my room the banging had stopped. I fell asleep, only to be woken by the police. They actually called the cops! I had to assure them that there was no issue with me, I just want to sleep. They said OK and left. At 03:45 I was woken up by the banging again. I banged on the floor and it went silent again. The front office staff was basically useless. I called the front desk on a Saturday, because my TV went down. The girl said "here's a number to call". I said - shouldn't you be calling, why should I have to? She said "that's a maintenance issue, not a front desk issue. You will have to call or go without TV until Monday". I can't make that up y'all. My last week there the elevator went down on a Friday. Guess what I was told? You got it, that's a maintenance issue and will be addressed on Monday. Then on Monday evening the front desk told me they needed to "order a part". Luckily for me I checked out that Tuesday morning. Then to cap everything, a representative (Lisa Donovan) emailed me to asked me to put her in contact with my company's employee's travel coordinator. She didn't even bother to ask me how my day or stay were going. She obviously knew the answer and did not want to hear it for the umpteenth time. There is no way I could recommend this...

Read moreI’ve worked in the hospitality business for years and I understand a lot especially when there is a change in management but some things can not be overlooked. I haven’t been able to talk to management because of my work schedule but would expect for employees to inform them of the complaints they receive. | With that being said, most of the front desk staff needs retraining. There are a couple good ones. Anthony and Caspian, who are understanding and very professional, as well as the GM April. But my boyfriend and I have gotten attitude from the rest especially the weekend evening girl ( I’m not sure of her name due to the fact that most of the staff does not wear their name tags) when asking for toilet paper, towels, etc. I change my sheets once a week and waited two weeks this last time to get sheets because “they didn’t have any clean”. Anthony was great and put some aside for me once I explained this to him. Thank you, Anthony!!!! | The maintenance guy, Mark, is absolutely amazing as well and works way too hard especially on Monday after people have spent the weekend in the pool area all night drinking and making messes for him to clean up. We complained to the front desk to no avail on this one as well. | Housekeeping is great as well, Anna does a great job and works hard as well. But the hallways need attention, an oxy facial pad has been sitting on the floor for over a week now by the side door. I’m not sure if the housekeeping staff is also understaffed so I get it but front desk can help as well. | And although, I understand it’s legal for medicinal use. There are people smoking marijuana behind the building where the smell comes in from the Ptac, when I complained to the front desk about it, I get told either they can’t do anything because it’s outside or they will look into it. I don’t care if they smoke, just don’t do it where it can come into my room where there is a 7 month old baby and two toddlers. I have taken it upon myself to ask them to either step out into the parking lot or go by the wall where the road is away from the building. Most of them are cool about it but I am not an employee and should not have to do that. There was a fight a week ago between a mother and daughter in the parking lot and they went to jail but are still staying at the hotel. | The rooms are clean and comfortable although they are a little small, they are definitely cozy. The pool is nice and refreshing after a long day at working in the heat of Florida. But I feel these things...
