Throughout my years of hotel experiences, I could say, this one didn't really meet to my requirements as I've been to other Quality Inns before.
[Backstory/Initial Thoughts] My partner and I had just left from a friends' swim night and we had to get home before the snowfall on Feb. 24th of 2022, but we didn't make it in time, so we decided to get a room for the night for safety reasons of course. I also have a ESA (Emotional Support Animal), so I thought "why not?" It was affordable and we were exhausted from the swim.
We called ahead to check if any rooms were available, in case we had to find somewhere else to stay. The front desk person had informed us about a single king sized bed, which is enough and we would take it and settle the payment when we got there.
[Actual experience] Location wise, if there were others from a different state or not around from WI, the Inn wouldn't be noticeable from the main roads, as it's a bit hidden behind Perkins and the Holiday Inn. But it's close 3-5 minute drive to any shopping outlets and plazas near the area, so it's easy to grab anything on the go.
Once we did find and arrive there, the person at the desk, took a while to notice us and we had mentioned about the call from earlier. Now I don't know why, but we were overcharged for the misleading information. When we called, the estimate was what we initially thought we both agreed on. There was an additional $25 pet fee, which is more than what I usually pay for at others, that they forgot to mention. Despite all that, we were still exhausted and by then, we just wanted to sleep, so we settled.
After checking in, we got our belongings to the room. Everything seem to be in working order, except that there were two normal sized beds in the room we had. We've never been more bombarded with disappointment, but I guess that was the reason why it costed more than what was said. The hair dryer isn't really powerful as it being on 'HIGH' still felt like it was on 'LOW', the pressure from the shower head wasn't all great either as it was either too strong, not a wide enough spray, or barely anything coming out of the shower head.
The bed was very firm as I like to sleep on medium-to-soft firm mattress, so it felt like I had enough rest, but body was aching a bit. For others, it may seem like a decent hotel, but I wouldn't recommend it. At least for THIS Quality Inn. I'd skip breakfast at this one as all the other reviews already said it for me.
I hope this helps others as well, as I like to try to give much information as possible to my...
Read moreGot to room and keys weren't programmed, back to front desk.
Light switch at door didn't work, light on desk didn't work, light in corner unplugged.
Tv remote didn't work, called front desk for over 5min, no answer. Went down to front desk again, nobody there. Rang bell and waited 15min alone before desk employee returned. He informed me likely thentv sensor fell behind entertainment center and I would have to "mess around with it until it worked" on the way back upstairs the halls reaked of Marijuana smoke.
So I turned on the room AC and fan, which after 30min or so just stopped working. Like a fuse was blown or power to the wall was gone. Pressed every button nothing worked.
Starting at 11pm, a car parked below my window outside had the car alarm go off and on waking me up a total of 5times until after 4am. I called the front desk everytime asking how it was being resolved, the response was well we don't know who's car it is sorry. Without an AC or fan there was nothing I could use to drown out the car alarm.
All of the pillows on the one bed were covered in lady perfume, bad enough we couldn't use them. Seems whomever was in room before us the pillowcases weren't changed.
In the bathroom there were 10in long dark hair strands all over the sink and tray, and on the toilet seat and floor, so that wasn't cleaned either.
After all that i had to get up at 6am to go down to talk to the Mgr and when asked for a refund on my stay. I had a 2 night stay and all I was offered was a single nights refund...
I was already so far from ever staying at one of your hotels ever again, but then today the icing on the cake, I get the loyalty email noting I only earned points for the night I paid for!
Even though I was there for 2 nights... I only got loyalty points for one night! Guess when it's so bad you refund the room the customer doesn't even earn loyalty points.
Terrible customer service, terrible...
Read moreWe were in a crisis situation and needed to stay one night. Upon entering the hotel, the lobby is very aged and dark. There was no one at the front desk, and when I rang the bell nobody came. I waited about 10 minutes and found a housekeeper in the hallway and asked her if there was anyone working the check-in desk. She said they’re not up there? I said no. She’s like well. They should be. Let me call them for you. I said it’s OK and she said no it’s not OK. They should be up here. She got a hold of the front desk, lady and she was around the corner from the front desk, but did not respond when the bell was rang. When she finally came out, she was very annoyed and seemed angry. I asked her if it was possible if we could check in early and she didn’t say anything, but proceeded to look up the reservation in the computer and then gave us key cards. We went down to the room to check it out and it was very hot in the room. That was when we realize the air conditioner wasn’t working. So she said she’d come down and look at it, but she didn’t know much about air conditioners. She managed to get a couple of maintenance guys come look at it, but they said that it was completely shot and that there was nothing they could do. She moved us to another room across the hall, which was fine, but the television didn’t work. Which is also OK we are only there one night not a big deal. The floor in the bathroom was cracked and tiles were chipped and missing and the room had a very strange smell to it The next morning there was no continental breakfast and what was provided was next to nothing. Another guest commented after looking at the breakfast “it’s like we’re staying in...
