We stayed here on my birthday, enroute to Florida. I have stayed here in the past and was happy with hotel. This time my wife and I were not. When I walked into the room, I noticed there was a strong odour - that left a taste in my mouth and sinuses. I went to front desk, and complained about it. One of staff came to room, said she couldn't smell anything and sprayed some Febreeze near the heating/air unit. I pointed out to her the large black mark in the carpet around the heating unit. I had asked if they sprayed the room, which they assured me they hadn't. There were no other rooms available, so we put up with room for the night. There were alot of work type vehicles in the parking lot, and I wish I had seen the other comments about the gas workers and the smell in the hotel. The staff were nice, breakfast was good. I think it was alot to pay for a room, especially a substandard room, and I had second thoughts about staying in another Choice hotel after this experience. I did complete their online survey and was contacted by MichelleAllard-Yskamp, front office supervisor, who apologized. " I would like to apologize for failing to meet your expectations regarding the condition of your room" They failed to meet the standard, but still offered nothing when it didn't - no refund, etc as friends even recently obtained when they stayed in a room that was substandard. If there are gas workers, with foul smelling clothes etc staying at the hotel, then staff were not aware of it when I complained about smell in the room? We did stay in another Choice Hotel, Quality Suites in Corbin Kentucky a couple of weeks later on the way home, and were very satisfied...
Read moreOMG! The whole experience was delightful. The check-in was quick. I was especially anxious about this trip. It was my Grandson's graduation from Mansfield Univ. after 5 long years. Lol There was 4 of us and 3 are handicapped, my Daughter the worst with a walker and wheelchair. We were very happy with the rooms. We were right down the hall from the desk and across the hall from each other. That was very convenient. I am a perfectionist and my biggest pet peeve is the cleanliness of the bathroom. They passed my inspections. The beds and pillows were the best. My Daughter wanted to take them home. The amenities in the rooms were great appreciated. There were enough towels which is most times a problem. I saw the sign for the "Comfort Cookies" at check-in and we couldn't wait. We all love cookies! They were great along with the fresh coffee and the flavored creamers(my favorite.) I did not have breakfast but everyone enjoyed it. I could probably mention more but I think everyone gets the picture. The only regrets I have are not writing down the Young Blond Woman's name who checked us in and was there the next morning bright and cheerful. I think she cold feel my nervousness and reassured me about everything. I am sure you can get that info and compliment her. Also not being able to stay more than 1 night. I wanted to go back. If I ever need to stay in Mansfield again, I will definitely go back to the Comfort Inn. Thank you...
Read moreI had booked my room online through choice hotels. I am a gold member. I have stayed at quality ends before. This time I was not very pleased. I got there about 7:45 PM to check in. I was told that they were short staffed and there was two new people, cleaning rooms and a new person on the front desk. I never got my key to my room until 9:03 PM. I asked if I could stay an hour later in the morning because I’m a gold member and I was told that she had no knowledge of gold members doing that. I have stayed before and got an extra hour over because I’m a gold member and other quality end. I do a lot of traveling with the Amish and I stay at a lot of different hotels. I was not pleased with this and the only thing she could offer was a free snack or drink. I did not take either one. I went to go have breakfast and there was no breakfast available at the time. I went out there. I was not told that breakfast was over with at a certain time. I did check out in my room at 11:41 am the next morning. Was not asked how my day was or if there’s anything I could do for you. I don’t know if the front desk all she wanted to know if I wanted my receipt. I do not know the people‘s names that were there last night, but it was none of their fault at all for this problem. You didn’t have enough staff for cleaning the rooms and there should’ve been another person at the front desk to help the...
