I'm only here as a Lahaina fire victim. This is a temporary place. Being on the ground level with no storm shutters. I've been through this area before the regular storm pushed out three cars over by the Hilton and they just had to rebuild this bridge. They weren't thinking too well. They should have elevated it with a 2% grade. It's that time of the season. I don't get any service. Everybody who's visiting and paying. Of course. They're going to Major renovations through the last storm. They do keep the grass and the beachside immaculate. But I can see the owners have storm doors and shutters. But when it floods down this area. #omg I was told to talk to the site manager. About our neighbors on the other side of the river of The gulch but just like the nice landscaper is telling me we need to be a better community. And everybody needs to trim up their shrubbery which hangs over the the River, the dengue pond. All the mosquitoes were coming in and hanging out in my Lanai where I can even go out. Without them coming into my place. They told me when the man's year comes back to ask him who the FEMA represented it is and to get a copy of the lease. Do the situation I'd rather not share. I'm just too close to the river and the ocean, the South Wells and the Southwest. I'd rather be homeless on the west side. With the amount of money the owner of this unit is getting paid for all these months. And the Maui county council was talking today and the past couple days. The contract ends in February. And they have no place for me because I'm disabled. And need to be in a safe area and on the ground floor. And have my parking right close, FEMA overspent the money. And call FEMA recovery and get the names and badge numbers or IDs cuz someone somebody's impersonating Federal FEMA agents and even Red Cross. I've already made a police report way back when when things was stolen from the processing center. And this was Lima. Charlie. And the other two. Vendors that they're very troublesome. Trying to do background checks. But I appreciate it... Another agency also said to get some type of a hard line since this is a bulk HOA. All the wiring is inside the concrete walls and this affects your reception the professional installation. The gentleman was looking at the wires and they were just disappearing in the walls. And he needed help and called in to talk through these issues. By the looks of it, I'm the only one that has no protection from the water rushing in from the front and back and underneath the door. They still haven't put the safety bars in the shower and the handheld 5-ft adjustable handheld what have you done Red Cross just through all my stuff and ransacked everything. And sent sent a shower chair that needs to be put together seriously. At least clear caption sent me a free phone replacement. But it only works when you have internet connection and there's no such thing as backup power in these type of places. Even at front Street apartments when I live there. This is while the workers stay and a few visitors and a few owners who live here 24/7 practically this is where retirement Island. Remember. I made a lot of nice people. It's hard for us victims to acclimate. It's just not enough time. And the Maui county council they're they're in such a quagmire. I wanted to go home where I grew up. If this took 20 years off my life being in the fire. It's okay being here actually. Just a little too much road noise. I had noise cancellation and blackout curtains three layers. But all the owners and all the other units that I see they have nice shaded mirrored windows to keep the inside cool. I'm almost ready to put some cardboard up. To deaden the sound and...
Read moreMy wife and I spent 8 days in unit #306 at Kihei Beach. Being our first trip to Maui, we did a lot of research on where to stay and ultimately decided to stay in Kihei (in general) and at Kihei Beach specifically.||||The town of Kihei was the perfect location from where to explore the island and this condo at Kihei Beach came exactly as advertised. The building was literally right on the beach which offered an amazing view of the endless beach along with unobstructed daily sunsets from the lanai. The 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo itself was spacious for 2, clean and nicely updated with a very-well equipped kitchen. The in-suite washer and dryer was very convenient and the supplied beach chairs, beach towels and cooler were great amenities! The bathrooms were showing a bit of age, but nothing that detracted from them. And while we didn't use them, there were on-site barbeques and a pool available for guests.||||We booked this unit though Ali'i Resorts, and they were a pleasure to deal with. We were met promptly by a representative at the condo who walked through the unit with us to ensure it was spotless for our arrival and to answer any questions we had. An unexpected surprise was the card and small gift from Ali'i waiting for us, acknowledging a birthday just before our arrival. We called Ali'i on a couple of occasions during our stay to help with a luau booking (with which they were very helpful and took care of the reservations directly for us!) and to answer a question on the washing machine (they were very responsive!). During our stay, there was a small fire in another condo in the building (separate floor and opposite side of the building), and Ali'i had a rep on site to meet with us and ensure our condo was unaffected (they even came by a few hours later to double-check on us!). All in all, their attention to detail made our stay even better.||||The building was at the north end of Kihei, which placed it away from the main amenities in town so it did require us to drive to restaurants, grocery stores and shopping...but we really enjoyed being away from the central hub of town.||||We really enjoyed our first trip to Maui, and the accommodations at Kihei Beach made it that much...
Read moreMy family and I stayed in until 210 last month, the unit itself was alright however the building and facilities are showing their age. There was plenty of space for all six of us in the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit. The kitchen was mostly clean and was equipped with everything one would need. The rest of the place was pretty clean with the exception of the floor, which is more a reflection of the cleaning service than the unit itself. The views from the lanai are beautiful and we spent time enjoying them with our morning or evening beverages. Although the unit had a brand new washer dryer set, it was not hooked up. We counted on having the ability to do laundry in our unit as we were in Maui for 14 days. Daniel did respond with a $50 credit for the inconvenience, however considering I spent half of that on the on site laundry machines (that were disgusting and in small smelly rooms), and the time constraints of the washers and dryers, it really wasn’t sufficient. The walkways/hallways within the property were more often than not soaking wet, with huge puddles everywhere. It wasn’t possible to walk to and from the unit without getting our feet wet. The elevator worked sometimes, but when attempting to do laundry on the 5th floor, it wouldn’t go past 3, leaving us to carry clothes up and down stairs while walking through puddles on the ground. The pool was a putrid shade of gross (when it was open), following that it was closed for a couple of days for repairs. This was a huge inconvenience to my mother in law that doesn’t swim in the ocean. Other guests went to an aquatic centre to compensate for not having the onsite pool. There are lovely trees and vegetation on the property, unfortunately the grounds aren’t very well maintained. The farmers market and shops across the street are very convenient, we also went to The Times grocery store, which was a short drive south. The beach is beautiful and literally right there. I enjoyed taking walks and cooling down in the water. There are so many fantastic places to stay in Maui, but this isn’t one of them. I wouldn’t recommend this property nor would I stay there...
