We quickly swung by here to check out the fresh fruits they had, and to check out their açaí bowls, and like before, I am always up for an açaí bowl, and I am always on the hunt for good açaí!
I was really hoping that this place would be better than previous açaí bowls I had tried before this on Maui, but I was disappointed that it was the same experience as before. First, when we were ordering, the lady that took our order was just out of it as if she was one something, and so I didn't even bother trying to customize my açaí bowl. I will say though, that the fruit on top were insanely fresh and tasty, and the fruit were probably the star of the whole dish. The granola was also very crunchy and added a lot of good texture. However, the actual açaí wasn't that good. It was just super watered down, and had this overwhelming citrusy and sour flavor. I saw on the menu though that there was a mixture of fruits in the açaí but the overpowering citrus flavor made it so I couldn't even taste any of the fruits in the mix, or the actual açaí. I just could not finish the açaí because both the consistency and taste were pretty bad.
Other than the açaí bowls, everything else at the farmers market was pretty good. They had a really nice selection of fresh fruits, and the fruits we got were by far the tastiest and most fresh fruits I have had. Also, they had a cute little shop with some jewelry.
In conclusion, I probably wouldn't come here for the açaí bowls. Instead I would come here again for the delicious fruits, and...
Read moreTourists ignore this message it’s not for you, you’ll be fine. This review is for the locals: Do not come here. As we all know, sometimes you visit a touristy area and are not treated as nicely for being brown/local/etc. This is one of those places. I used to stop by every now and then and never had a problem with the workers, nothing but kindness so I apologize if this review hurts the crew that actually knows how to share aloha. But the last 2 times I went were terrible experiences. the man behind the register was talking up a storm with the tourist family in line in front of me, tells them have an amazing day. but once it was my turn to check out he ignores me and begins counting change while conversing with a coworker behind him for about 2 minutes.I’m patient so I stood there waiting. I smile at him, He scans my items, I pay, and once completed he just stares at me rudely. I thank him and say have a fantastic rest of his day because I believe in not stooping to a loser’s behavior. I caught him off guard of course. had a similar experience my following visit, but this time my very white dad was with me. he was busy parking the car so we entered at differnt times. guess who got the warm greeting? (hint: the white one). You should treat everyone fairly despite origin or...
Read moreI specifically came to this location to try out the acai bowl and it definitely did not disappoint. I got the OMG acai bowl and it was absolutely phenomenal. I love acai bowls with a passion and have tried numerous bowls at tons of locations and this is the best acai bowl I’ve had by far. The presentation of the acai bowl itself was amazing, and as I was leaving the market, a woman had caught a glance of my acai bowl and immediately started calling to her friends and pointing out the delicious-looking acai bowl I had in my hands. Not only did it look appetizing, the flavor was amazing! Each bite left me wanting for more. The acai itself was a good consistency, which was surprising to me as the other places I’ve had didn’t have a the best acai base. The highlight of the bowl for me was definitely the bee pollen. The honey was so sweet and fresh-tasting and just literally awesome. It complimented the entire bowl so well and was what made this bowl so incredibly delicious. It may sound like I’m exaggerating but the bee pollen was genuinely such a good addition. But overall, the presentation and the taste of the OMG acai bowl was amazing! Highly...
