It was a nice place for the most part. the little kitchen comes stocked with your most frequently used cobkware and silverware. There was a dish washer and stove however there was no oven but some rooms do have ovens. The refrigerator had its own ice maker which is also kind of nice. The only downfall that I discovered was the bed sheets although they may have been cleaned or still stain from what was clearly blood small small amounts of but nonetheless still there. And it was quite disgusting an alarming at the same time. I would assume for being a higher in place that they would dispose of any stained sheets like that just to give their customers a piece of mind. Any kind of stain on the sheet is gross but when it's clearly a blood stain is beyond gross regardless of how many times has been bleached washed or sanitized. And the blood stains themselves looked like those you would find from a bed bug situation not saying if there were any bedbugs I did not see any but the stains looked like those type. Had those things that been on the sheets my star rating would have been a v easily just given the awesome kitchen situation and the comfort of the bed and the couch in the other room in the TVs and such and such it was very nice amenities minus those bed sheets which were the big downfall and a big issue for most I would assume. And it really just ruined the time that I was there. I could have called down to the front desk to have the sheets changed but there was an extra box in the closet that had an extra set of blanket pillow and sheets I was about to change the sheets into those when I discovered even more still blood stains on those as well so at that point I was just pretty discouraged and didn't really want to bother so I got my own sheet for the bed and just left it at that very disappointed in that whole situation considering how much time people spend sleeping and how have an important part of their lives that is. All I'm asking for is clean non stained sheets especially none blood-stained sheets I don't think that's too much to ask for especially given the money I'm being charged to stay there. But if you can look past that or if you were lucky enough to maybe not receive Blood Stained or any stain sheets it's a lovely Place very quiet very well-maintained and like I said awesome amenities. Read moreWe stayed at this hotel specifically for its kitchen since we would be in the Phoenix area for weeks. Overall the hotel is okay but we left for a different, long-term hotel after a week here because it was not conducive to working from the room or working out.||Positives:||- Front desk and breakfast staff. Very friendly and helpful.||- 1 BR room was spacious. There is a small table for eating (or work) and another workdesk with lots of outlets but no USB ports.||- Location is convenient to major highways and safe to walk around at night.||Negatives:||- In the room, there are no USB ports, only outlets, and several of ours did not work. ||- Internet is slow, and when we tried to watch Showtime on the tv, the show literally stopped to buffer every 3 minutes. A/C is very noisy, as is the ice-maker in the fridge. ||- They have laundry facilities on the 2nd floor of each building. These rooms are clearly not cleaned. One of the dryers in our building did not work, which we learned the hard way. ||- Fitness center was really disappointing and it makes sense that they don't advertise it on their website. Very small, with 2 treadmills and an elliptical. One treadmill broken the entire week we were there. They don't supply towels and you have to request water at the front desk--there is none in or around the gym. There are no weights, only 4 kettlebells that max out at 20 lbs. There is a pulley weight machine with low weights and only 2 types of handles, so we really couldn't use it. The room was never cleaned. The wipes were dried out. There is a sign on the door to wash your hands before and after use, and the bathroom across the hall has a sign that it is locked. So...yeah.||- The other complaint is housekeeping. We didn't need or want daily housekeeping so we followed the front desk's instructions to place the "do not disturb" sign on the door when we didn't want housekeeping, otherwise they would clean. On Day 3, we signaled that we wanted cleaning but they skipped our room. By the time we got home, the cleaning staff was going home. They did bring us fresh towels and dish soap as requested. When they came the following day, they very clearly didn't clean the...
Read moreIf you love noise and an ill-repaired facility, stay here! Plus, this is a Franchise, not company owned, so they beat to a different drum. My key cards kept failing. (I asked for 4 and hid 3 outside my room! Crazy) And...there's only one bar of ATT cell in this entire block, so if you stay here, or the Courtyard nearby, don't expect your phone to work very well. You will have to get wifi to do anything online, and the wifi gets slower as the hotel fills up. And if you look at the phone...it's .75 cents to make a local call! What a freaking joke!!
Some specifics - first, the staff was nice to work with. No complaints there. The facility the represent is a piece of junk. I had to make about 10 trips to the front desk today, and noticed a ton of noise coming out of the doors. Wafer-thin walls/doors = a dorm-like environment.
The first room I was in was next to the stairwell door. The slamming literally shook the walls. The second room had a slow toilet leak. The maintenance guy said that the equipment was old and they had to fix things all the time. Then, about 6:30 a family with a couple young kids were put - of all places - right across the hall. That became a long night.
I was here to record audio for some interviews, and all the interruptions and extra noise made that much more difficult. When the staff wouldn't move the noise makers, I got on the phone with Marriott, only to discover it was a franchise and basically little they could do.
So...if you get this far down, hopefully it will help you make a decision whether to pay nearly $200/night for this, or go across the street to the La Quinta for about half and see if it is any better. Probably luck of the draw there, too. There's a place next door on the other side you could try, or a big Hilton a block away. I'd stay away from here, or bring ear plugs and be ready to use them.
So far in PHX, my Marriott experiences haven't been that great. I have a lot of points and Platinum status with them, and they won't even give you a bottle of water on check in. The old Marriott legacy of service and quality is in new hands now....and sadly it's definitely...
