Yogis Grill — Restaurant in Mesa

Had the chicken katsu plate the first time I came here and it was less than spectacular; dry chicken fried with panko with a side salad reminiscent of the picnic size salad mix you buy from Safeway and a gob of white rice. Although the serving size was sufficient, more of something bad isn't a good thing... Thought I'd give them another chance today and got the chicken yakisoba and it was like no yakisoba I've ever had before! Disgusting. I mean it's fried noodles... How do you mess that up? But they douse it with what tastes like apple cider vinegar and your chicken isn't mixed in (thankfully in this instance because I had three bites of these noodles and had to throw in the towel). Chicken wasn't bad; slightly overdone grilled chicken thighs with a little bit of teriyaki. Certainly not worth the 8 dollars. I understand that it's quick serve Japanese style food but quick doesn't need...

Lady at the desk wanted to treat me like a criminal, a suspect, or a thief just for asking for a water cup after spending $40 on food. So much so that she. Felt necessary to stop what she was doing to peek her head over the counter to tell me which button was for water in a very condescending tone as if I have issues reading or finding the water button. Then she comes out from around the counter to once again make sure I am getting water...which at the time I was. Yogis has always been my favorite fast food type Sushi and Teriyaki Chicken to go place!! I have frequent punch cards from a few of these establishments..this one (Mesa)stopped accepting the cards.store seems a little bit run down lately bench seating torn or cracking vinyl, lunch specials are smaller now for same price had a dragon roll, roll was loose kept falling apart ..upfront staff seemed all new kid at register seemed not to friendly or helpful with suggestions I had a guest with me who had never been to Yogis was not impressed. Hate to say but I usually look forward to eating at Yogis will be visiting the Chandler one, soon hopefully they are still...
