Clarion Pointe Milwaukee Airport — Hotel in Milwaukee

The hotel is recently renovated. The finishes are all fresh, clean and new. However, it seems unfinished. Our suite with a kitchenette looked stark. There was no table or chairs in the kitchenette area or in the large portion of the guest room containing the entryway. I resorted to using the ironing board as a table here, as the only area with horizontal space to set down bags, etc. was the bedroom portion of the suite. The kitchenette had a coffeemaker, but no cups. It seems that whoever prepared the room did not make sure it was fully stocked, as I saw cups meant for the guest rooms on the cleaning person's cart. The bedroom was as you would expect in similar hotels, and the beds were very, very comfortable. The hotel overall is nice but is missing the little touches of art and decoration that are important to make a hotel feel cozy and homey both in the lobby and the guest room. The lobby was kept very clean, but the hallways seemed to be neglected. The hallway windowsills were not wiped, nor were the floors mopped daily. The evidence of a coffee spill which appeared in the hallway on day 2 of our stay was still there on day 4 when we were checking out. This could be a really nice hotel with a little more...

I decided to stay close to the MKE airport since I had a 5am flight. The first shuttle leaves at 4am, but it worked out fine. As other reviewers have mentioned, the place has recently had a major remodel. Everything is new and clean. What surprised me was just the level of care and support I got from the staff. When there was a problem getting into my room, a staff member literally ran down the hall to check on another room and had me a new key within a couple minutes. When I got to the airport the next day, I realized I had left an item in the room that has some sentimental value to me. I called the hotel. The manager actually went to my room and dug around until he found it under the bed and then called me back to let me know he found it! Very amazing. Most hotels say they can't find anything because it is just too much trouble to manage a lost-and-found. I was also surprised by how fast the shuttle arrived to pick me up. There is a set schedule for leaving, but pickups are on-demand. The driver must have left within minutes of my phone call. All the way around, this was an amazing experience in customer service! I hope they can keep up this...

We stayed here one night as a staging point for the EAA Airventure in Oshkosh. The exterior looks like a typical chain, but inside has been recently renovated with appealing modern colors and design. Check-in was easy. We took a large elevator to our 2nd-floor room. The room was CLEAN and smelled like it was clean. White bed linens were spotless. Towels and shower amenities were in good shape. No dirt in the bathroom at all! This is the cleanest chain-type hotel I have ever stayed in. The location directly across from the airport may affect some light sleepers, but it didn't bother us. Breakfast was the usual choices (yogurt, cereal, wafflemaker, fruit) and the only ding was breakfast was still being set-up when we went down after 06:00 (breakfast starts at 6).
