Where to start...the bathroom in the lobby when I first walked in smelt horrible and was not clean at all. toilet paper on the floor everywhere and pee on the seat. The hot tub didnt work as it was the same temperature as the pool even after turning the jets on, they shot out cold water. The floor in the pool room was absolutely disgusting as there was hair, dirt, grim, and just all around not clean. I complained about the hot tub and was told something would be done about it, however we went back the next night and it was even colder than the first night. The breakfast was bad too as there was 3 giant hairs in my food. It took about 15 min when we first arrived to check us in and it took 2 people as the one employee had no idea what she was doing although she was very friendly. When the second employee tried to help her, it seemed as though she was confused as well she was not as friendly. The bed frames are extremely loud and squeaky as thats all we heard BOTH nights from the upper floor because we were on the main floor and had to go buy earplugs to just be able to fall asleep. The pillows were rock hard and lumpy, the fridge has no temperature gauge and was not even cold, and the one lock on the door was broken. When they "cleaned" the room, they didn't even make the bed or give us new shampoo and conditioner as usual. They took the garbage out and replaced the towels but nothing else. Like I said, the bed was messy and not even touched by the cleaners. There was also hair and dirt on the floor as they clearly didn't vacuum either. The light was not even bright it didn't even light up nearly half room, thankfully there was a lamp (which wasn't that bright anyways) The whole entire hotel smelled like cigarette smoke and we weren't even close to the doors and we had a entire floor of non smoking rooms and made sure to get a room that was non smoking as I cant stand that smell however I ended up breathing it in the entire time anyways. There wasn't really anything good about this hotel stay. The photos clearly were taken a LONG LONG time ago and never updated. This was supposed to be for mine and my boyfriends 5 year anniversary and it was ruined by this dingy hotel. Especially the hot tub because that was the main reason we picked this hotel as well was the non smoking part and the hot tub and we got neither. We paid $150 for 2 nights and I expect better service than that for that much money. Don’t stay here if you can help...
Read moreI went through Priceline, and they not only got paid Priceline, but these people here at the Days Inn charged my credit card two times two days each so I paid for four days was only here to paid Priceline and then they charge me also and they took my money have nothing to say about it the general manager has not even talked to me yet I've called corporate headquarters for Days Inn I've been asking for the manager and they still keep taking more money out of my account oh, watch these people I stayed here the week before for 2 days, what's your Priceline the first day the second day they should they charge me the same amount they ended up charging me $65 when they should have charged me $42 each people are thieves they are terrible, the clerks at the desk they don't know what the hell they're doing other than stealing from you out of your account they thought I wouldn't check it but I have alerts on my bank accounts and they wanted to know why I'm being charged for 4 days when I already went through Priceline oh, I have not been reimbursed when they said they reimburse me they charged me again instead of reimbursing me so I had to put stops on everything through my bank, this is unbelievable oh, I came up here 168 miles away to meet somebody to buy a car oh, and I didn't have the extra money for anything I had enough money to spend the two days here at the Days Inn and get the car back, and then they left me penniless I could not buy the car the person that I put a down payment on the car kept my down payment and I lost the car, and I have not even had a manager call me talk to me anything, I even called corporate headquarters good luck they're also customer service forget it, I will never ever stay here again this is been a nightmare I saved up two years to get a car this year and this many low miles on it and I put a down payment on lost my down payment and lost the car and I get nothing back from these people, I would not stay here they're thieves, and they don't care not one manager is called my room I've been here two days not one person has apologized screw this place and they charged me last time I was here more than what the room was going for this is kind of people you'll deal with when...

Pros - The room I had (222) was very clean.
The bed had 4 pillows and although it was only a queen, it was firm and comfortable.
The bathroom was clean and I had plenty of towels, soap, etc. The TV worked fine and had tons of channels. Internet was free and fast with easy access. My room had a fridge. Right next door is a decent restaurant that serves inexpensive quality meals. My workspace was fine.
Cons - The rooms are VERY small. There isn't even room for a closet for your cloths. You must hang things on a rack adjacent to the bed. There is very little drawer space. I didn't see an elevator (not a problem for me). The staff was helpful, but not friendly. There is no ironing board and iron in the room. I had to call down for one in the morning and got one quickly, but it was just a 2' long board that you had to use on the bed. I had never experienced that before. The cost for the hotel considering accommodations was quite high.
Final observations. Minot North Dakota is currently suffering from a severe hotel room shortage. The city recently suffered a major setback when they had a flood that was devastating. Many residents had to leave the city because they lost their housing and many of those who stayed had to use hotel space for their logging. In addition, North Dakota is experiencing a oil exploration boom which means many workers are entering into the city right now work in the oil fields who need housing. Because there is a tremendous demand for housing, hotel prices are very high. Keep that in mind when you either cannot find room or find the rooms are...
