Majestic Sun 1108b by Destin Getaways — Hotel in Miramar Beach

This was our first visit to Destin. The beach is absolutely gorgeous so we will be back for that. Miramar Beach was a great place for families. The Majestic Sun B provided the beachfront accommodations that we wanted At a very reasonable price. We found it to be comfortable and quiet at night even with the road below. The kitchen itself had everything we needed in terms of utensils plates pots etc. we stayed in unit 1004B. You should be aware that there are only a few towels in the unit so you’ll need to bring detergent to wash. We found that when we washed we needed to turn the air conditioner off or else it would freeze up. The temperature in the room cannot be lowered below 72° or the AC will freeze up. We did not lower it below 72 but it froze up anyway on two occasions both times while using the washer dryer. The solution for that is to turn off the AC. Overall it was not a big issue but we stayed there in May so the temperatures weren’t crazy yet. It only needed to be off for a little while and then you could turn it back on. The beds were comfortable and for our family of four everyone had their own space to sleep read and rest. For us we spent many days at the beach all day. Be aware thatTwo chairs and an umbrella cost about $50 a day to rent. There are a couple in the room with an umbrella but you’ll have to station yourself behind the rented umbrellas across the street at the beach. We went to eat at the surf hut which is walking distance down the street which was highly recommended. Whales tale which is also walking distance the opposite way was a bit of a disappointment and expensive. The other thing we liked in terms of location was proximity to the shops on grand Boulevard, the outlet malls and grocery store. We also went next-door to Surfside spa and received facials which were both reasonable and custom for my daughter and I. We will go back to Surfside for those treatments as they were excellent. The last tip I would provide is that you need to arrive through the security gate to park and you can park in the garage behind building a. It was such a free-for-all at check-in time in terms of the number of People coming that it was hard to figure that out and the people at the gate we’re not helpful. We really liked that check in was automatic and that they sent us a code for the door which worked for the duration of our stay so we could go right into our room. The only issue we encountered was that we were sent a text our room was ready but when we got there the room was not ready and the cleaning crew was still there. However we were able to unload and leave to go enjoy the beach while they finished. Overall we really enjoyed our week in Destin And will visit Majestic Sun again...

We arrived at 3:30pm when the cleaning lady was finishing up. A lady came out and said we couldn't go in until 4pm which we totally understood, at 3:55pm she came out and said our unit, unit 1110B was damaged. The dishwasher was broken, the sink was falling into the cabinet below it, the coffee pot dodnt work, the living room TV didn't work half if the time, there were no batteries in the bedroom TV remotes, there was no blender as pictured, the bed linens were not as nice as the pictures and the mattresses were very firm and uncomfortable. We were told that someone from maintenance would be in contact within 30 min to an hour. We never heard anything at all that night. The next morning we contacted Vacasa and were told by 2 or 3 different people they would take care of it. Hours passed nothing happened. Called back and demanded to speak to a supervisor. We spoke with Kalie, who stated she would get in contact with local Mgr of the property, mind you there is no.lobby to speak with anyone on the property and no one to get anything additional you might need like extra dish washing detergent, trash bags. Etc. Finally a lady named Alex called us and someone came and fixed the sink but the dishwasher never did work, she did bring a new coffee pot and a new tub drain as well. We never received any compensation for the trouble and time it took trying to get things taken care of. Also there was trash underneath the bed and the ceiling fans were very dirty. Would never stay there again and never again with...

I would not recommend this property to anyone at all. We spent almost 2,000 dollars for 5 nights. On night one we got a call my husband's dad passed away. We had to leave suddenly. We cleaned the entire place top to bottom. We only were there for 1 day and the property owner refused to reimburse us for anything. Very disappointed especially in a time for expenses that could be used towards funeral. We would have liked to even be offered a credit for a future stay. Very unsympathetic to our situation. It is not like we even got to stay for half of our trip. Any money back would have been appreciated. We will be staying somewhere else in the future and will not be recommending this property at all to anyone. That place was probably cleaner when we left then when we arrived. I hope no one else has to experience what we had to. That is a lot of money we lost out on. Very discouraging that we as human beings do not...
