The ONLY reason I’m leaving one star is because it won’t let me leave none at all. My family and I traveled here to Destin for our vacation and last night, I recommended Royal Palm Grill and was pretty excited considering everything looked good for decent prices. Unfortunately our experience was anything but exciting. We had a decent wait (which is fine everywhere has a wait) and the bartender Samantha, was very attentive and had conversation with us the whole time, no complaints there. When we sat down we ordered drinks and all of our food immediately, appetizers, entrees, and any beverages. We as in a party of 8 including an infant. Our server was just plain rude and had an attitude from the beginning. Very inattentive and very snippy. No help with the menu at all. We were one of the only families in that section of the restaurant (outside was closed) and as previously stated, ordered all of our food as soon as we sat down. Then tables more than ours, and other 2-4 tops filled the rest of the section. They ordered and didn’t even order food first, and ALL of everyone in the sections food came out before ours, drinks, appetizers, entrees. We never got checked on for drink refills, and the server never batted an eye about it. Finally we got our young son’s food, and it wasn’t even warm anymore. While everyone else around us RECEIVED ATE AND LEFT we still have ZERO food and no drink refills. So finally my dad very respectfully Had to go find the manager and ask what was going on because we were all starving at this point as well as we all knew everyone has a bad day and my family is VERY understanding so we were giving her the benefit of the doubt. The manager, a taller woman in yellow, went back to the kitchen with our server and here comes all of ours food. Cold, had been sitting there for quite a bit of time, and at this point didn’t even want it. I got the chicken penne pasta, which I was looking forward to and it was horrible. My younger sister got the same thing and it was awful. My husband didn’t want his, and our guests burger didn’t come out how she asked. My mom didn’t even receive her other part of her entree (she got 2 things and one was a large Caesar salad, never received it) and while all this is going on the manager never apologized or offered to help with anything and the server was STILL rude. A couple of us decided to leave and send back our food. After all this the manager still never came to the table to even say is there anything I can do. We definitely won’t return hopefully others won’t waste too much money or at least have a MUCH...

Now I'm going to present to you how to completely bungle customer service. We went at 5 o'clock on a Friday. The hostess was in a terrible mood, as I see a couple other reviewers can attest to on the same day. The inside was closed for a wedding so service was in the bar area or outside patio. A couple of tables were at the bar and one party besides us were on the patio. We ordered 4 sushi rolls. Then we watched as another party of four came in a few minutes later ordered, received and got halfway done with steak. Over 45 minutes later our server finally returns with our sushi to state "sorry we had a run of togo orders on sushi" 😳 wow! No. Never, ever, ever use Togo as an excuse to make a paying customer sitting in your restaurant wait for that extreme amount of time. Water glasses were empty when the sushi arrived. Server came back with Togo ramekins "for soy sauce" when I was half done with the sushi, at which point I had already put the soy sauce on my plate. At the end of the meal, we waited, and waited for the server to return. Eventually I grew tired of the hour and a half we had just wasted and left my card with my wife. She eventually had to hunt someone down to pay and found the manager. When she mentioned the horrendous wait and poor service, the manager could only reply with another excuse: "sorry we have a wedding" 😳😳😳. The tables were set up for the wedding when we arrived. We watched the whole wedding occurring across the street as we were waiting for our sushi. There were a total of about 25 customers to be served in the whole hour and a half we were there. No comp, no discount, nothing to make up for the absolute worst service I have ever received at restaurant. NEVER make excuses implying that someone else is more important than the paying customer sitting right in front of you. If you can't handle additional traffic when you have a wedding coming two hours after people arrive, close the whole restaurant. There are plenty of establishments in this area that will treat you better. I recommend to anyone to take their hard earned dollars and spend...
Read moreWe ate dinner there with a party of 14 people, everything was great until the check arrived.
Everyone wanted to pay for what they ordered but apparently we were told that was not possible. It was either one person picked up the whole tab or they could divide the check evenly in 3 which means some people would've paid for more than what they ordered. We told the waitress this wasn't convenient for any of us so she called the manager who told us absurd reasons as of why they can't do that.
Finally after debating our case, we were allowed to pay for what we ordered respectively but we had to do the math to make sure each of our totals + taxes & tips were adding up to the total amount of the check.
Once we got it right, we each gave our cards and expected to leave shortly. 20 minutes later, our cards are still nowhere to be seen and our waitress is going back and forth waiting other tables ignoring us. She didn't say a word to us until I asked what was going on with our cards and she said that the manager was doing the math and adding tips and taxes.
We had literally spent 40 minutes doing the math for them so there was nothing for him to add! Finally a few minutes later we were able to get our cards back.
I have NEVER been to a restaurant with a large party where paying for what we each ordered was an issue. They claimed it was too complicated on their end but it ended up being extremely confusing and a waste of time for everybody.
Paying should be hassle free. If you have a party of 14 leaving a $300 tab, you should make it easy for them to pay and for you to...
