My first experience with this new theater. I was very unimpressed with everything up to the point of getting into the actual seating place to watch the movie. I walked in, and first tried the automated ticket. Not easy to use. Had the movie titles listed then initials that stood for who knows what. The movie I wanted to see had 4 different ones and my luck I chose the other 3 first before I gave up on it and went to the counter. I first looked around and they had a maze of taped off areas registers on one side, soda machines and a guy standing behind to bins of popcorn. I didn't enter the maze right and ended up asking the guy behind the popcorn what the deal was. I then walked around the maze and got to the other side with the registers. I got our tickets, then were handed empty cups and our bucket, also empty, for the popcorn and directed back to the other side. It isn't very convenient to do this. I liked it better at the Prattville cinema where you get everything at the counter. Now a side note. Coca-cola has these multiplex dispensers. They seem to be going in more places now. I absolutely hate these because I really don't think the taste is the same. It's much worse. Sometimes you get drinks that taste like other drinks mixed in or they aren't calibrated well, anyway, they are terrible and I will avoid places that use them. So, that being said, the next part makes it even more unappealing. The dispensers were covered in soda, the button to press got stuck on me and kept going pass the point of filling my cup. It was a mess. The lids were easy to get to, but it such a small area, you can't really put things down anywhere to get things situated. Only one napkin dispenser, and one straw container. So, you either need help or hope there isn't a lot of people there so you can get things together. One person behind the popcorn counter. We didn't have much of a line, but first you wait to purchase, then you wait for a soda dispenser, then you wait to get your lids/straws/napkins, then you wait for your popcorn. Oh, if you want butter, then you go back to where the sodas are and wait again. So, this is a complete an utter disappointment for me. What normally takes a short time to get everything turned into an extra 20 minutes that I didn't expect and don't usually have when I goto Prattville cinema. And, that was when it wasn't very crowded. I would hate to see it when they get busy. So, after all this, I went from being excited about seeing a movie to regretting ever coming here. Then I walked into the actual theater. It was impressive. The space, the seats, the screen, everything was just as I said impressive. The seats were comfortable, temperature in the room was good, viewing the screen from any angle was perfect because of the curved screen. The sound was great. So, this part made up fro everything that I just went through. So, if you don't care about food and drinks and just goto the movie I would give this place a 5 star. But the customer service at the beginning, no direction, un-enthused employees, except for maybe one. too many waiting areas and disorganization. I would give this place a 1 star. So, ballancing it out I gave it a 3. However, I will be going to the prattville one instead of this one. I may try again some other time, but as much as I have to pay to enjoy going to see a movie, I shouldn't have to go through frustration to get to the...
Read moreThis is typically my "home" theater. After we got used to the ticketing and concessions process, this became the norm in our minds. Bathrooms are clean and property is safe. I am writing to explain why our theater lost 2 stars. -- My family of 5 attended a 6:30 pm weekend showing of Aladdin (movie was about 2 weeks in theaters at the time). My children are 6, 4 and 2. After about 15 minutes of the movie, my 2 year old became bored and got fussy. My wife and I started taking turns with her walking/standing in the tunnel. She cried a time or two there and when we attempted to return to our seats. At about 30 minutes into our show, an employee (presumably a manager) approached my wife and let her know that there had been a complaint and that she needed to leave the theater. No form of compensation was offered. For the remainder of the movie, she sat with my 2 year old on the bench outside the theater. She was obviously dejected, embarrassed and angry. This week, I asked if she wanted to make plans to see Toy Story 4. She responded that we wouldn't go back until the girls are older. The message from management is that you shouldn't bring your children to see movies such as Aladdin or Toy Story if there is a chance that your children might cry or be disruptive. That's right; Don't come to our theater; Stay home; Save your money and buy these movies on iTunes. Is that a good message to families? Good for your business? Ideally they would have: 1) Offered to move one or the other family. We would have moved. That would have been preferable to having part of the family removed from the theater. 2) Offered to refund our tickets. Doesn't hurt the theater. They make their money on our large popcorn and large drink. I suppose that my Vision Club Rewards program will be dormant for a while. -2 stars for poor management of a...
Read moreWent to see a 3 Pm showing of Jurassic. The ticket area had one employee and the gal was friendly. the Popcorn refill station between the drinks was manned , but they were out of straws, and coke icee both. :( One of the three coke drink stations on the right was out of ice. The refillable large drinks are the way to go . Ticket price of $7.29 was an excellent value ,with tax $8.01 . 32 ounce drink was $6.59. Icees were offered in blue raspberry (2 stations) red cherry, yellow banana, orange mango and coke (which was out). though the lights were green they did seem a little runny [not thoroughly frozen] . The theater itself was extremely comfortable [ not the freezing bring a jacket you may be used to] I had on shorts and a T-shirt. This time slot wasn't crowded at all either . There were multiple time slots for the individual movies giving you many choices - and the 3 PM movie actually began around 3:25 or so after previews. This installment of Jurassic wasn't too scary or gory; a whole tribe of little girls behind me seemed to handle all the scenes very well. There was plenty of action and chases though only so many senarios of 'opps we are in the wild areas and need to get to the control centers'- and don't forget dino barriers that you get trapped behind as well. Still worth seeing on the big screen though . Bathroom trash needed emptied but all seemed cleaned well, public...
