We had a softball tournament near here and stayed due to the great reviews and pricing. We stayed in a king size bed suite. I'll list the pro's and con's below, but in general we were happy with the staff and attention we received. There was that older hotel smell you would get, but nothing a little Lysol didn't take care of, lol.
The cons Pull out couch had like a .5" - 1" thick mat, I wouldn't call it a mattress, lol. Solution, went to Walmart and purchased a full size air mattress. Room had mold in the ceiling of the restroom and there was some drops of water coming down from there. It looks like a repair was attempted in the past but still leaking, room 101. Otherwise the shower pressure was fantastic! The hot portion of the breakfast was finished too soon, meaning when we got there to eat at about 8am, there was none left, and none was made afterwards to replenish it. This should be something that should be kept full at least until about 15mins before 9am when breakfast ends.
The Pro's Very clean room, and super comfortable bed. Electric two burner stove, small refrigerator, and two microwaves! Nicely remodeled rooms and hotel. Super friendly staff and very helpful Waffles were good, and the rest of the breakfast was good, just a bit upset I didn't make it in time to taste eggs, and potatoes. Plus the coffee was surprisingly good, you never know with hotel coffee. Great rates, so you really get what you pay for. If you want something super fancy then go spend double the cost. I'm not sure what people expect of these types of establishments, it states two stars, jeeze, lol. Finally awesome internet speeds, very rarely, even in the fancy hotels do you get 25M/25M speeds. If anything that made my trip, we were all streaming video and I was working without a hitch. This right here is what made my trip, I've stayed at the $300 a night hotels and their internet at best is 9M/1M, unless you pay extra for it. One more thing is the location, you have so many food options near you. A very optimal location, and like 10mins from eastside center, and 25min's from Louisville...
Read moreSTAY AWAY! This was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel and the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. First off, they advertise an indoor pool, which was close for construction when we got there. Not a big deal, so we dropped our stuff off in the hotel and went to our concert. When we got back, we noticed the towels had raid (blood?) stains on them. There were holes in the doors and walls. My blanket had yellow spots all over it that looked like pee, and my wife's was completely stained yellow. They did give us new blankets, but gave us a different kind, because apparently they didn't have any clean ones. Finally we watch some TV and get to he'd around 2 Am after reliving photos and videos from the concert. We were rudely awakened to people hammering and drilling right above our room at 8 in the morning. The entire hotel was empty, and they could've put us in any room, or did construction any other place, but chose to do it right above us. We complained and let them know we had a long drive and just wanted a little more sleep. They said they would get the noise to stop, but of course, they didn't. We just got up and left. Also, we were in a non smoking room, and it smelled so bad of smoke we had to wash everything we took into the hotel to get the cigarette smell out. I would never stay here again, and recommend finding somewhere else. As dirty as this place was, I can only imagine that it's filled with bed mites as well. Nastiest...
Read moreI read the revieefore booking my stay at Americas Best Value Inn in Morton, IL. I did not experience any of the problems in the negative reviews. Sure, every hotel has minuscule minor problems. I am sure that the people who wrote negative reviews would find problems if they stayed in the Lincoln Bedroom at the White house. Some people are not happy unless they can complain about something. Too bad the manager can not go to their house and critique it. The hotel is as clean and equipped similar to hotels at three times the price. The room was clean, everything worked, the hotel staff was overly friendly, professional and helpful with every need. The pool was wonderful. Easy access. all around experience was very good for a third of the price. Perception. Before they ever arrive at the hotel, because of the lower price, their perception is that there has to be something wrong. This mind set makes them look for or make up minuscule problems to justify their opinion. Way before they ever arrive at the hotel their perception is that they will have a bad experience. This hotel could raise their rates, not make any changes to their program and their review ratings would go up. Remember, perception is more important than the facts. People with perception problems will never be able to have objective perspective because it might prove them wrong. Excellent hotel and anyone who writes a negative review probably has a...
