I like my burgers "messy" I say when I order. In other words, I like lots of specific condiments that add flavor BUT you can look like a burger exploded in your face after eating, even if you're careful. And that's what I asked for and received at the Morton Burger King last night.
After a loonnng day I needed sustenance, and while Arby's is nice, I have been on a Burger King binge lately; primarily for the Whopper $5 meal. However, I changed it up and went with the 2 for $6 and got my Whopper but also a grilled chicken sandwich.
For the chicken, I asked for AND received one with extra honey mustard, mayo and added a bunch of pickles to top it off with it's usual lettuce and tomato. It was great!
And, as I hadn't eaten in 12 hours, I added the 10 piece chicken bites with honey mustard and ranch dipping sauces to serve as my fries. They were great.
The Whopper was so good and delivered as ordered, I almost called the store to thank them but in all my recent travels I have noticed a common issue among Burger Kings - the meat is Luke warm and NOT HOT, ever. In fact, I bought two breakfast croissants yesterday morning to start my day and by the time I finished both, the cheese on both were still loose in the sandwich and not even slightly melted. And it wasn't frozen cheese but a lack of heat for the sausage AND eggs.
Burger King needs to look into this for it's occured to me over the past six weeks at EVERY Burger King I have bought from. From Springfield to Peoria, to the St. Louis area, to the Quad Cities, to the Peoria area, etc. ALL have been...
Read moreLocation: For travelers the restaurant is located right off the interstate, which makes it convenient for a quick stop for food, gas and an easy return to the road. Getting back on the road is as easy as turning left out of the parking lot and then taking the I-74 West(first exit) or East Exit ramp (Second exit ramp)
Restaurant: This particular Burger King has had a fresh update by the looks of the interior and was clean and well maintained on the inside based on our experience.
Food: What you expect from Burger King. I had a whopper with Fries and my son had the 8 piece nuggets with fries. While the food was slow to come out it came out hot. Maybe we were just lucky since there were not a lot of travelers that day due to the weather but we had a fresh batch of fries so your mileage may very but ours was what you expect/want from fast food.
Overall: The cashier was friendly , the food was fine, the location makes it easy to get back on the road. Will your fries be as piping hot as ours...probably not...but the overall experience was what you would expect from your average BK. Giving it 4 stars for the luck of the fresh fries. Again like any fast food restaurant your mileage may very...

I get that there's a covid restriction right now but it's kind of ridiculous that they would make a person that walked over from the hotel next door to go through the drive-thru on foot. My semi truck is in the shop down the street.
And then the young little 16 or 17-year-old boy yelled at me from the drive thru and I'm 57 years old. I was just trying to ask him a question, he was definitely rude and disrespectful. This attitude flows down from store managemen, always does. So I wouldn't have a high opinion of the management or that particular location. I never did eat there so the food might be awesome.
It appears that this branch is having difficulty keeping this branch open.. probably because of what's happening everywhere.. All of the socialist giveaways have created a bunch of lazy Americans.
So I went back to the hotel and ordered 17$ worth of food elsewhere....
