We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Best Western Plus in Moses Lake — a place that surprised us with its thoughtful amenities, amazing food, and genuine hospitality. This is not your average three-star hotel. I’m already planning my next visit!
The Breakfast Bar – Truly a Standout Experience
Hands down, one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had in this category. Nearly everything is handmade from scratch — no boxed waffle mix or egg-carton scrambled eggs here. The waffles had the perfect balance of savory and subtle sweetness, ideal for anyone watching their sugar intake. The gravy was rich, hearty, and full of homemade flavor — you could taste the care in every bite. The highlight, though, was the custom omelet station, where you can create your own with a solid selection of toppings. The attention to detail and quality at breakfast alone sets this hotel apart.
Stunning Lakefront View & Walking Path
The hotel sits right on a beautiful lake, and you can enjoy your meal or morning coffee with a serene lake view from the window-side seating. There’s also a small walking path along the water — perfect for a peaceful early stroll before the summer sun heats up. I even spotted swans one morning! Paddle boarders and small boats regularly pass by, adding to the tranquil, postcard-like setting.
Impressive Room Amenities
Our room was spotless, with crisp linens and a smart layout. I loved that the sink was separate from the toilet and shower area — much more convenient when sharing the space. A standout feature was the oversized fridge, easily twice the size of typical hotel mini-fridges (even at higher-end chains like Hyatt). It fit all of our road trip snacks and meals comfortably. Other thoughtful touches, like a pre-stocked makeup remover wipe (which I always forget!), elevated the experience. The temperature control worked well, the bed was comfortable, and while the pillows leaned firmer, they were clean and supportive.
Fantastic Dinner & Patio Vibes
Dinner on the outdoor patio was a peaceful and delicious experience. I ordered the prawn entrée — and wow. You get 7 or 8 jumbo prawns in a lemony, buttery broth for around $25, and I happily devoured every bite (and drank every drop of the broth like soup). The salad bar was fresh, with fiber-rich options that made me go back for two full plates. But the unexpected star? The clam chowder. Creamy, hearty, and clearly made in-house, it was easily one of the best I’ve had — even rivaling the chowders at Pike Place. I don’t usually go for creamy soups, but I happily had two full bowls!
Top-Notch Service with a Smile
The restaurant staff were truly wonderful. Every server greeted us with genuine warmth and attentiveness. It’s clear this hotel has been around for a while, but the hospitality hasn’t faded — which is rare and says a lot. The team was friendly, caring, and made us feel valued throughout our stay.
Relaxation & Wellness Amenities
The hotel offers a great range of wellness amenities, including a spa, gym, dry sauna, and a heated indoor pool. Whether you’re looking to stay active or simply unwind, these spaces provide a perfect balance of fitness and relaxation during your stay.

Final Thoughts
This hotel impressed me on every level. From the exceptional food to the peaceful lake views, thoughtful room amenities, and genuinely kind service, Best Western Plus in Moses Lake delivered a stay that far exceeded expectations for its star level.
If you’re visiting, don’t miss the clam chowder, the shrimp dish, and the custom omelets — they’re all fantastic. Highly,...
Read moreI'm a Moses Lake resident, and recently my husband and I went on a staycation, checking out various hotels in the area. After a few less-than-vacationy spots, we finally checked in at Best Western.
First, it's a great location if you're passing through town because it's close to the freeway. It's also fairly close to downtown, and it's right on the lake. They even have a dock to which they allow their guests access. None of this applied to us, as locals who just wanted a night away from home, but it's worth mentioning.
Second, this hotel has been beautifully renovated. Although it's an older building (and as such there is no elevator), everything looks new. The materials are high quality, the decor is tasteful, and the carpet in the hallways is still soft.
Second, this hotel offers a LOT of space. Our room (a double queen room, which somehow is the same price as a single queen) had tons of floor space. The lobby is very spacious. The in-hotel restaurant area is huge. The bathroom has a nice big sink countertop. Even the parking spaces are very wide. The overall atmosphere this creates is relaxed and inviting.
Third, amenities. The pool wasn't open at this time of year, but there are plenty of other features - a health spa, free wifi (it's high-speed, and unlike other hotels in town, it doesn't disconnect every five seconds), a continental breakfast, and a nice restaurant. We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was good - not the best dining in town, but also not the most expensive (most dinner plates are $15-20, with seafood dishes as high as $30 or a little less). The continental breakfast is also in the hotel; they have quite a few options, from cereal and fruit, to waffles, eggs, ham, and potatoes, to made-to-order omelettes. Also, the restaurant has a beautiful view of the lake (you can also request a room with a balcony, but these are limited).
Finally, the overall comfort of the room. The beds are not the most comfortable I've ever slept on, but they mattresses are new (Serta) and a good mid-point between firm and plush. Both my husband and I slept very soundly. The beds have ample pillows (four standard size for a queen, plus an accent pillow). The AC unit is quiet but regulates the temperature very well. The blanket was a little thin - I prefer something heavier when it's not summer - but you can just turn up the thermostat. The towels aren't plush either, but they're not scratchy. There was a nice big desk area with a comfortable office chair, plus our room had a lounge chair (not a recliner), and in addition to the standard flat-screen TV, fridge, and microwave, there was also a Keurig coffee maker, and there was a hairdryer in the bathroom.
If this were the only Moses Lake hotel I'd ever visited, I'd give it 4 stars because there are things that could have been better or that would have really blown me away (elevator, thicker blankets and towels, indoor pool, made-to-order breakfast), but I'm giving it 5 stars because this hotel is SO much better than other hotels in town that have been highly rated. At this point, this may be the only hotel in Moses Lake I will recommend to my out-of-town guests if they can afford a slightly more expensive stay (it's not the most expensive in town, and I think it's a really good value for the price, but if you're on a tight budget it might be more than you...
Read moreThis BW is a solid average. It's exterior appearance is tired, interior is nice though. The room itself was run of the mill. They can not seem to be consistent in their pricing. They tell me that the corporate rate is $99 but all my receipts (except for the last one) are for $89. The heater in my room was impossible to control. I set it at 71° and it went to 73°. I turned it down to 66° at night and woke up freezing. There was no no extra blanket so I had to turn the heat back up, to who knows what. I didn't sleep well. Six moths later......Once I got into the room after battling with key cards that didn't work, I couldn't help but notice that someone had cranked the heat up to about 85°. I turned it down and opened the slider in order to cool it down to a comfortable level. It wasn't until about 2:00 am that I figured out why it had been turned up. I woke up freezing. It was then that I learned that there was a horrible draft coming thru the wall at the heater/air conditioner. Silly me, I was under the false impression that once I got the temp down to a comfortable level it would stay relatively consistent thru the night. Little did I realize that it would soon be 60° in the room and given the paper thin consistency of the bedding I would soon be borderline hypothermic. I prefer to sleep with the room cool but this was ridiculous. There was no extra blanket in the closet so my choices were, a) freeze to death or, b) listen to the heater all night and put up with a room wherein I couldn't find a heater setting low enough to avoid sweating all night. Needless to say, I was up at 3:00 am unable to go back to sleep. I could have slept in the cab of my truck and saved a hundred bucks. Very unsatisfactory stay. Given the track record here, if there was another BW I would stay there. One month later: nothing has changed, the rooms are cold and drafty, the bedding is thin and offers little to no insulating value. If I wasn't a Diamond rewards member I'd drive a couple miles east and stay at the Inn at Moses Lake. 3 months later, nothing has changed, this place does everything on the cheap. Ask for extra blankets, turn the heat up or freeze to death due to paper thin bedding. Oct. 2018, Seems to be getting a little better. They are accommodating when they are asked for something (but don't ask for a tea bag) but they don't seem to be able to remember it when you ask for the same thing every stay. I rated the exterior appearance a little low but no fault on them, they...
