WARNING DO NOT DRINK THE WATER Caused us an unpleasant, poisonous, burning sensation. We think it made our (always healthy previously) dog sick. New Update 04/24/19: 4/17-attempted to communicate to management that we are being woken up by drug deals in the parking lot. I was ignored. My husband and I have lost over a week of sleep. When I told management that I am watching drug deals take place in the parking lot, that the tenant stays in their car, another car pulls up, the tenant runs into the room, runs back out, and then the other vehicle leaves; classic drug deal. Rather than apologizing for my lack of sleep and the inadequacy of safety that this hotel is providing me, management told me that I should handle it myself by contacting law enforcement. Not only do I not enjoy calling the cops for every little infraction, but that would place a big red Target on my back as the cops would come to my room to discuss what was going on because I had initiated the call. So in other words, management at this hotel, doesn't want to do their job to the point that they wish that their clientele would take care of their job and place themselves in jeopardy.
The worst part about this entire experience, is that I finally was fed up enough to call corporate. Corporate absolutely agreed with me that management should never have told me to call the police, that that was absolutely their responsibility, but they were going to a go ahead and allow this property 48 hours in order to handle it. In complete disregard of the fact that I attempted to handle this problem last week, also disregarding the fact that my husband and I have lost sleep for an entire week.
Also, I explained to management that I have chronic insomnia. My insomnia is so bad, that if I do not have a practitioner already caring for my meds, when my insomnia hits, I can die. It's called manic exhaustion, a medical condition that can be Googled; I almost died from it three years ago. The response of corporate was, "Oh well...". Breeza (sp?) Fox or something to that effect is the corporate manager who responded.
Update: My scheduled cleaning day never got scheduled, and passed with no service. I was tired of it; called & attempted to get services without complaining... house keeping staff had just left. It required me creating an unpleasant 'discussion' with the office staff, because though this started at 3:45, the manager had already gone home. It showed... the management style shows.
On the positive side, there are plenty of vacancies now if you need a place.
Previous entries: As many others have said, cleanliness is not a priority. The staff however is friendly.
Our fridge had issues and was replaced immediately. Other in room efforts have easily been coordinated.
The photo of the glass can't convey how sticky and gross it was - it's been washed by us three times and we still can't get it clean. We re-washed every dish, as multiple were obviously dirty. On the other hand, the other kitchenettes we've utilized lately haven't had dishes at all. The hotel actually provides a coffee pot and the other typical hotel amenities which we have found lacking in other long term hotels.
The photo of the wipe and the towel are of wiping the floor after spilling some water and getting out of the shower; this was immediately upon arrival - the floors are filthy. I will be getting a shark mop and doing it myself, along with everything else but the toilet, the shower, and the sheets.
We do at least feel safe here. (NO LONGER TRUE!) While waiting to get into an apartment here in Utah, we'll choose this motel, with it's flaws, over every other option in this price range we've found. (WE'RE LEAVING, NO LONGER SAFE.)
Update: Our coffee pot broke, I washed theirs, and added pictures of what it looked...
Read moreWow. Just don't. Keep scrolling and find another place. This place, from start to finish was AWFUL! The grounds were filthy with cigarette butts and trash everywhere. The stairs right outside my door were occupied by a smoker. Just sitting there facing my window, one step in front of the no smoking sign on my door.
There were children playing around, on, and INSIDE the dumpsters, and a preschooler who used the parking lot as a personal playground while her adult watched from the second level balcony.
The room itself. Holy cow. After I closed the drapes so Smoky McCigarette couldn't just see EVERYTHING (and that was a tenuous chore, since they drapes were BARELY attached), the next thing I noticed was the broken chair next to the bed. Immediately afterwards I noticed that there was no bedspread. Whatever. Who needs a bedspread? Upon pulling the blanket down, I realized that the bottom sheet was totally wrinkled. OK. Maybe it got left in the dryer too long. But then WHY was it only wrinkled in the center with no wrinkles at the edges?? And what WAS that weird blue stain? Needless to say, I didn't sleep on that sheet. I ended up sleeping on top of the scratchy blanket with just a top sheet over me.
Moving on, light switches don't work. Light fixtures don't work. If you want to use the stovetop, good luck! There's only one knob on a two-burner stove. There were random stains on the walls and ceilings. Pieces of the tile baseboard were simply lying on the floor, as if they had given up years ago, but nobody knows what to do with them. The bathroom door has multiple holes in it, as if someone tried to kick it in. The shower rod is in such bad shape that you can't even close the shower curtain all the way. This explains the water stains on the floor and wall near the tub. The faucet is such that you must have to be a plumber to stop the water from coming out. I never did figure that one out and just had to leave it running at the slowest flow I could get it to. The toilet is the lowest toilet I've ever seen outside of an elementary school (and I'm not a tall person!), and the water pressure was weak enough that even the toilet paper didn't want to go down. The medicine cabinet (if that's what it was) had a missing piece of decorative plastic, but wait! It's not missing, someone just put it on TOP of the cabinet. They'll get to that later, I guess. Missing towel bars. No hooks.
Random holes in the furniture and walls, cupboard doors that don't close, missing closet doors, an ironing board but no iron, a missing smoke detector, and a door stopper that WILL break your toe if you're not careful, all round out your stay. When I checked out in the morning, I found two chairs set up near the room next door and lots more cigarette butts including one that landed on my car.
Don't stay here. Listen. I'm not normally a picky, snooty person, but I'm telling you. Steer clear of this place. I don't' know when the pix were posted on Google, but it had to have been at least a decade ago. My room looked nothing like that in real life. I never did see a pool, but I did find the hot tub. It's behind a locked fence and filled with trash. This place doesn't feel safe and it's 100% neglected. And they were apparently fully booked. Note to owners: Maybe don't book all the rooms. Maybe book 99% and fix up the other 1%. I don't know. Maybe have just a BASIC level of hospitality before you take...
Read moreThe only good thing about this place is a small portion of the staff. Nee, Steve, Joyce, her husband and Ian are all this place has going for them. The rest of the staff are rude and unpleasant to deal with. Rachel, is unpleasant to deal with. Anytime you go in and pay your bill, ask for clean sheets or towels and even toilet paper, she acts put out that she has to do her job. Like it's our fault that she has to do her job and we've interrupted her phone calls or her time away from her phone. It's a bit ridiculous to have feel unwanted or try to avoid going in to deal with an employee like this. Someone needs to take her phone away. Let her know that customers come first. Even if it's a difficult customer. If she has to run down to the laundry room to get bedding and towels, that's your job. Here's an idea....maybe everyone who works at this location should pitch in on getting the laundry done. Instead of leaving it up to just a handful of people to do. It's not fair to the paying customers that there's never any laundry done. Especially with the rates we have to pay. They don't abide by any of what Corporate says. And they will argue with you tooth and nail on that. Saying that it's wrong information. This includes their rates, especially if you're a long time guest. According to Corporate, as long as they have a credit card on file, the rate is supposed to either stay the same or what is displayed on the sign outside. Whichever is cheaper. But they refuse to charge the cheapest rate. Then on their website they advertise that they offer free coffee in the lobby. Corporate says since they don't actually offer that, the coffee should be free. Nope, they charge $1 for that too! This place is a joke. Be prepared for cockroaches that they don't attempt to get rid of. Loud neighbors that fight often, that the front office does absolutely nothing about. No one ever picks up their dog poop. Probably because they never have poop bags available. As well as never having clean towels or sheets. Always having to go back, once the laundry is done, to get clean ones. And if you're too late, then you're sh#t out of luck and have to wait until laundry is done. Which is a rarity. They installed new washers and dryers. That the price doubled and they don't even work! They'll either take your money and not turn on or just take more of your money to finish a load. The vending machines basically do the same. This place will take as much of your money as possible. They definitely need new management too, because Shanika, isn't the most pleasant person to deal with either. She's rude to her employees and clients too. They've had previous managers come in and fix the place and once they fired her, the place did better. They brought her back for some reason, and the place is slowly going down hill again. She'll break the rules for her sister to stay here for free, but isn't willing to help out long time residents. Just because her husband is a Franchisee or manager of some sort of a different location of a Motel 6,gives her no right to act the way she does. And when he's on premise that doesn't give him the right to manage the place either. It's not his position to say a word or treat customers poorly, which we've seen with multiple customers, who didn't deserve that treatment. Good luck with...
