One of the Worst customer service experiences in my life! They don't serve everything on their menu at all times, not disclosed be advised. Also, I wasn't served a waffle at 10:01 p.m., when I had walked in the door and the open for business sign was still lit when I walked in the door. See the details below...
Let me lay this out for you, I showed up at 9:55 p.m. after getting my 5 year old And two-year-old out of the car, many of you know how that is, I came into the restaurant. Upon arrival at the counter I was informed by the employee that it was too late to serve an item on the menu, the grilled cheese and bisque. Mind you there was no notation on this menu of them not being able to give me a service because it was 5 minutes before closing time. So I walked out the door to get my phone, which I had left in my car called my wife and asked her if she would like me to get her a dessert waffle, and then walked back in the door. Upon arrival at the counter, I was then approached by another woman, who I would assume was the manager, that informed me that it was too late to order a waffle and that they were already closed. It was now at this point in time 10:01. Also as I walked in the door the open for business sign was still lit in the window and there were probably 15+ people still eating in the restaurant. I explained to her the situation and how I had just walked out to get my phone to confirm with my wife the type of waffle that she wanted sense her employee would not serve me something on the menu, again no notation of there being a certain time of stopping that service, she still refused to make me a single waffle. She said, "We aren't serving any more waffles, we are closed. Please leave.." WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I've never been treated so poorly as a customer. This company has definitely lost...
Read moreFive stars for the food -1 star for organizational deficiencies. Fantastic food. Waffle love offers some of the best comfort foods available for the human pallet. These waffles are made with crossaint dough sprinkled with pearl sugar prior to cooking. The result is a waffle with a crisp flavorful exterior and a rich buttery dense & delicate fully cooked waffle or maybe it's a pastry!? My favorite is the RED WONDER, which has biscoff, raspberries, strawberries, AMAZING whipped cream. The savory chicken & waffle and egg with sauce waffles are delicious. I subtract one star for service because the employees at the Fort Union location seem to be casually milling about behind the counter when no customers are in line. All the while there are tables in need of cleaning, forks out of stock. The large wood table had a sticky feel to the surface, so either the clear finish is degrading due to an aggressive cleaner, or a not so clean rag was used to wipe the surface. The food is never quick. You go to well run Habit Burger, McDonald's or In-n-out Burger and everyone has a defined role and is busy efficiently doing that job. Go to waffle love and no one seems to be in charge, staff roles are not defined, so the food is slow, a mistake occurs with my order (always corrected) about every third time. The restaurant is just clean enough to be acceptable. Only the sheer amazing taste of their unique food allows me to overlook these deficiencies. DEAR MANAGEMENT: this chain could be so much more with better staff training and organizational analysis turned into actionable...
Read moreFirst off, I love Waffle Love. I always get the Red Wonder and add Nutella. Don’t know why I’ve had so many food quality issues at this location when I always order the same thing. The first time I ate at the Midvale location my waffle was undercooked. Still doughy. Last time I went here with my mom our waffles tasted rotten, like the dough had been left out a few days. We didn’t want to be rude so we ate the fruit and left. A day ago, I ordered DoorDash from this location to find a tiny “red wonder” waffle half the size of the ones I normally get at the other location, and barely containing any biscoff. There was no biscoff under the berries you see in the photo. Just that small scoop spread on the side. Some of the strawberries were old and tasted rotten. I paid $16 on DoorDash for what you see in the photo. Why. This is what it looked like immediately after opening the box. If you are an employee and don’t enjoy what you do, find something else. These have repeatedly had very basic issues. For the price, it just isn’t worth getting this.
Honestly the whip and strawberries being on the side do not bug me at all. I got delivery. But with the lack of ability to give me a full size waffle and more than a tablespoon of biscoff, I will continue to drive farther out and go to the other location. They seem to be much more happy working there...
