Hotel is beautiful, after breakfast in the morning they spray some sort of an air freshener that is way too potent for the space. Rooms are clean and beautiful! Staff is always friendly! Housekeeping doesn't understand English, so getting extra towels was a bit of a hassle, we had to go to the front desk to get extra towels. Hot water for sink and shower?? Well it takes a good 4-5 minutes for it to reach the faucets, and then it gradually gets cooler as the water runs. Also, they need a new type of shower curtain, the water leaks all over the floor so you absolutely need extra towels so you don't flood the room or bathroom... It was in the mid 70's during our trip, and the outdoor pool was closed. Not sure why, it was clean as the indoor pool which is connected/blocked with a partition wall. Really wanted to soak up some sun. Downtown shuttle runs roughly at the top of the hour, you must tell the front desk so that they can call the service to make a stop at the hotel & it's $10 per person & that's round trip, and it runs until 1:30 am. However we decided to Uber back and forth and that was roughly $25 or less round trip & you have the convenience of coming and going on your schedule, not the shuttles schedule. (Uber tip, it doesn't show up that you're at the hotel which the address is 911, so you have to move the map around to get the exact address for your pickup). TONS of construction going on downtown Nashville, but all in all, GREAT RELAXING trip!!! Will DEFINITELY be staying at the Best Western Plus Nashville Airport hotel on our next stay!! We've stayed at the Best Western Belle Meade 3 years ago and let me tell you, WORST hotel we ever stayed at...
Pros: safe neighborhood, and beautiful area & you can NOT hear the outside noise from the airport which is very near by... They also had some landscaping being done, and our room faced where they were working with chainsaws, couldn't hear a peep!!! Also just about 1/2 mile from the expressway & again NO NOISE!!!
Cons: just a few hiccups that I'm sure can be quickly fixed... Hot water takes forever (4-5 minutes & that's for the shower and sink) to reach your room, but has GREAT water pressure, shower curtain leaks all over the bathroom floor no matter how you position it... Air freshener in the lobby is way to potent for the small area they are using it for, but they only spray it after breakfast in the morning so it goes away after a few hours (smells like a Vegas resort hotel that allows smoking which they need to have a potent air freshener). BW needs to maybe try a citrus scent, not a perfume scent... Very small parking lot (that includes both sides of the hotel)... The lot for the size of the hotel is way too small for the amount of rooms they have. And lastly, the windows in the room do NOT open, and as BEAUTIFUL as the weather was, we wanted some fresh air, but we were unable to open windows, not even an inch... But none of the cons are a deal breaker...
THANK YOU AGAIN Best Western Plus Nashville Airport, you made our trip...
Read moreWe only booked this hotel due to an event that was being held locally. We booked a first floor room that was handicap assessable. The hotel has a weird smell, our room was decent, no microwave. And on our second day, when my husband went to open the window to let some light in. We noticed a big mess all over the window seal the casing around the window was falling all over the floor, and black mold was exposed. It looks as though the air conditioning unit in the room above us was leaking. When we contacted the front desk they came and looked at it called maintenance and then told us that they would just paint over it and we be fine. That’s not how this works! Black mold is very serious and you can get very sick. You cannot hide it. It is illegal. They stated that there’s other rooms we can move into on the first floor. They just need it cleaned and give them a minute we let them know that we were heading out and will be back and that was fine. We moved to another room, we asked him not to go in our room while we were gone and we had our do not disturb sign up. When we arrive back, we were informed that there were no rooms on the first floor. They were handicap assessable that they would have to move us to the third-floor, but that we would get reimbursed for our stay. When we arrived in our room to start packing things up to head to the third-floor, we were greeted by a fan blowing on the paint in which the maintenance man painted over the black mold and then put a fan on it, which is now circulating the black mold through the room, this is illegal you cannot cover a black mold you have the air out the room contain it, and as well as perform abatement. You also have to notify anybody that is in that room that there was black mold. When we brought this to the front, desk attention they said they needed to rent the room out that night, so that’s why they did it. Again, this is illegal. Makes you wonder how many rooms in this hotel that they just cover up black mold. We arrived in the third-floor the room smelled like a dirty diaper very musty. The toilet does not flush the air conditioner did not work and the bathroom is not handicap assessable which made it very difficult for my husband and he was not able to use the shower when we brought this to the attention of the property manager, Amy She stated that we would get a refund for the inconvenience and our stay. I have yet to see that refund for the price we paid I would expect better.
Beware!!!! Best Western Plus Nashville Airport is refusing to compensate us for the inconvenience of moving our room, loosing a whole day of vacation due to this situation with black mold! And contaminating our belongings by putting a fan on the mold without ventilating the room.
If you have issues with this hotel they will not refund or discount your stay! Not very...
Read moreI recently stayed at 2 best westerns in Tennessee during my travels to visit a friend in the southwest. My stay at the Nashville Airport Hotel was by far the worst of the two experiences. Upon arrival I was greeted by being informed of an unlisted no walk-in customers after 11pm policy; this was very disappointing after being 12+ hours on the road driving. So I walked back to my car and used my cell phone to book a room via their website. After making the reservation on-line, the clerk let me in to finalize the booking. I was hopeful that this would be the only minor inconvenience during the stay. However, upon entering the room I noticed a chemical smell that I suspected was from their cleaning product or disinfectant. At this point, I was too tired to return to front desk and debate with the clerk as why I needed another room. I was facing another 12 hour day and in need of all the sleep I could get. In the morning I discovered, when attempting to get cleaned up, there was no shower curtain. So I angled the shower head at the wall as far as it would go in an attempt to diminish the overspray. While checking out, I asked the clerk if I was just unlucky or did none of the rooms have a shower curtain. I guess she believed I was joking because she tried to explain it was just a single curtain not a double like many people have at home to which I replied, no there was no curtain at all. She asked the housekeeper present how that happened to which the housekeeper had no answer. After arriving home I discovered an email asking me to do a survey rating my stay at their location. I answered the survey questions honestly about the stay. What surprised me most though was the hotel's response that gave a faint hearted apology followed by all the things I should and could have done to make my stay better with them. In response, I asked what the $150 a night room rate paid for in bettering my experience since other Best Westerns in the area had lower rates. Since submitting the question, I have not received a follow up response nor am I sure they even care. As such, I would recommend other travelers avoid this establishment when staying in Nashville; I know I will.
Update: "I do apologize for the series of negative issues during your stay. Your experience is quite a departure from our standards of exceptional guest service. Would it be possible to get some more information from you so I can access your reservation? " Apparently it isn't that much of a departure from your claimed standards of exceptional guest service. Once contacted to ask what information you required you claimed to have my information and asked what is a good time to call. Never did receive any calls or any further communications regarding the matter. I stick by my recommendation for other travelers to find a better...
