If you want to stay near the airport, there are probably 10 hotels with in shouting distance of this one that I would stay at before staying at this one again, and that includes a Super 8.
I had to go to Nashville on business and picked it because it was near my jobsite. I called to get a reservation and they sent me to the "reservation desk" which I later found out was an off site facility. I agreed to a price with my AAA rates and was satisfied that it would cost that. I implicitly told them 3 nights, and asked the price per night multiple times before I hung up and was only given one number. I got the confirmation email and didn't see any prices on it. I assumed that the price would stay constant because there were no other prices quoted to me. I checked in and was immediately dissatisfied. The room smelled stale, the internet didn't work at all (Facebook wouldn't even load), the couch was uncomfortable, and there were very odd noises all night long. I called the front desk about the internet only, and never complained about anything else. They said that they had several complaints about it and sent me to their technical support who told me that they didn't have any problems and offered no help. The next day, I checked my email, and the original email was still open on my phone and I saw the button buried in other links for room rate summary. Over the length of the stay, they gradually doubled the rate of the room without telling me and they didn't honor my AAA membership. When I called to tell them that this was a mistake, they refused to change the rates. I had to get in touch with Marriott directly where I demanded they listen to the recorded phone call from my reservation. They only agreed to lower the price to around 1.5 times the amount of the first night which after much frustration I finally accepted. The morning I was to check out, the reciept under my door did not reflect the changes I had gotten from Marriott. When I walked to the counter, the MANAGER rolled her eyes, said "Oh great what now?" under her breath, and made a face. I had never talked to anyone other than at check-in time and over the phone. She had no idea who I was, so I'm sure she treats all her customers like this. She finally printed the reciept with the correct pricing on it. They then billed my credit card for nearly $200 more than was on the reciept I recieved and I am now having to dispute the charges with my credit card company. It is an...
Read moreThe hotel has very friendly staff and is incredibly close to the airport, so close that you will literally see planes taking off from right outside of your hotel room window. To be blunt the soundproofing isn't what it needs to be. To be in line with this hotel's brand, this is an investment that it should have made in his property long ago. That said there didn't seem to be many overnight flights, so this wasn't a problem that kept me from sleeping. The free airport shuttle was right on time, even including needing to pre-schedule for midday, and saved a few needs for Uber fares. The breakfast was very good however management seems to be out of touch when they don't open it until 6:30 a.m. on a work day knowing full well that their hotel is full of business people that need to get their day moving faster. The room was long overdue for renovation in a few respects. The mattress was pretty thin. The handle on the toilet literally broke. To their credit, Hotel maintenance responded quickly and with an hour despite a minor flood the issue was actually resolved. I was surprised that nobody from the front desk however followed up to make sure that this was resolved. The shower also was very difficult to regulate between hot and cold water and, in general was way too short for anyone that's even more than 5 foot 8 inches. The room cleaning also left something to be desired. when I move to the night table a few inches so I could plug my mobile charger in overnight, yes there is nothing on the night table to make that easier, there was literally garbage on the floor had not been cleaned up. Also the clock radio in the room was set for the wrong time.Good thing I didn't depend on that to be on time for meetings. But perhaps my biggest complaint is that for the price that I paid to stay in a SpringHill Suites, all of these issues should be non issues. At $50 to $75 less per night, which would have been comprable to what I am used to paying when staying at this brand as a gold elite member, I would have been able to better overlook some of these minor issues. But at the price that I paid, I felt that hotel management has a lot of nerve charging these prices without a more recent renovation. When returning to Nashville I would not choose to stay at this property again as I do not believe it reflects well on the Marriott brand that I've come to trust as a gold...
Read moreI previously booked this hotel through Priceline, but upon arrival, the person traveling with me did not have a reservation on file. When she checked in, the front desk staff took her card and charged it without any explanation or discussion of the rate. She later discovered that the price she paid was much higher than what was advertised. When she tried to ask questions, the staff gave vague responses and offered no clarity.
First impressions were rough. The lobby had dirty floors, scuffed walls, filthy windows, and an overwhelming musty smell that suggested mold. While the room itself looked slightly better than the common areas, there were noticeable stains on the couch (which we didn’t dare sit on), the sides of the mattresses were dirty, and there was a flat sheet used instead of a fitted one—definitely odd. A musty odor was present in the room as well but eventually faded after turning on the air conditioning.
I didn’t receive the WiFi password upon check-in, so I called the front desk. I was told it was in my key holder, but it wasn’t. Instead of simply giving me the information over the phone, I had to get dressed again and go downstairs to retrieve it. Once there, the staff casually mentioned that I could’ve just scrolled down to connect—which could have easily been explained over the phone. Very poor communication.
We were told we could have a free late checkout until 2 PM, which was a relief at the time. However, during checkout, I was charged an extra $20 for late checkout, on top of an unexpected daily charge of $16+ because I booked through Priceline. When we mentioned what we were told earlier, the staff dismissed it, stating that checkout is only free until noon.
To make matters worse, we went out briefly for breakfast before returning to grab our luggage—and found that our key cards had been disabled, despite the paid late checkout. We had to go back to the front desk to get them reactivated just to access our room and leave.
Overall, this was hands down the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I consider myself a patient person, but the complete lack of customer service and basic hospitality was unacceptable. We ended up paying $175 per night for a hotel that felt like it should have cost no more than $75. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place...
