I came here for the second leg of my honeymoon, and was more than a little underwhelmed. The TV has like 30 channels, and none of the good ones like history, food, travel, trutv, or hgtv. Needs updated A/C units: they’re old and loud, and in the room we stayed in, it was a foot away from the bed, so we got stuffy really fast with the heat on. The window’s curtains are moldy and gross. I don’t even want to touch them to open or close them. Underneath the window, the carpet is coming undone and there’s dirt, spiderwebs, etc all over. There’s only outlets on one side of the bed. The shower, though pretty, takes forever to warm up and makes weird noises/seems like it’s having a hard time. The bathroom sink is the same way. The floor in the bathroom is ice cold. The toilet is odd, also seems like it has a hard time, and you have to hold down the handle the whole time otherwise it just stops flushing. The bathroom sink leaks into the trash can underneath it. The mini fridge doesn’t really get cold, which is not good for leftovers. There’s no microwave. The bed is hard. Our card keys only work half the time. Only one elevator is working, and at one point, the other one stopped working too. Breakfast was supremely lacking, with the eggs obviously being of the powdered variety, and the pancakes obviously coming from the freezer section. I paid for the room months ago, yet my card has a $120 hold on it for some reason, when we were told it was only going to be $30, then it would disappear. My card is now being declined at places for not having any money on it. When I asked about it, they gave me a vague answer about it being because I paid with a debit card(again, months ago) so it would be more, which makes no sense to me. Signs in the hotel are misleading; the pool direction points up, which makes me think upstairs, but it’s outside. In Tennessee. Where it’s regularly cold. So it’s closed right now. Ugh. Ice is only on the first level. I got a tiny lava cake (for $6.01???) and was disappointed by it: it was dry, cold in the middle, and tasted like flour. We were trying to leave super early to get a head start on our 10 hour drive home, and our key cards stopped working, which was super inconvenient because one person had to stay in the room at a time while the other person brought stuff down to the car.
For the price I paid for this hotel, I expected a whole lot more. The last hotel I stayed at, I payed almost a hundred dollars less and was completely pleased with my stay. Basically, don’t waste your money; I’m sure there’s much better hotels for the same price(or...
Read moreThis trip was a quick weekend getaway for my wife and I. We chose this hotel because it's far enough away from high-traffic areas that it's easy to get into and out of, but close enough that you can easily drive to wherever you want to go in Nashville.
The hotel was nice, but our room had a musty smell to it, particularly the bathroom. Several of the TV channels also didn't work properly. You could hear audio, but the picture was missing, and all you could see was a banner that said "Audio Only." The doors (or walls?) were also very thin, we had no problem hearing other guests as they moved up and down the halls.
The staff the first night was very nice and friendly, but they seemed stretched too thin. When we tried to order food from their 24/7 galley menu, the lone worker informed us that it would be a long time because he was the only one in the hotel. We opted for premade salads instead.
The second morning was also good, but again, the staff was stretched too thin. We didn't have enough washcloths in our room, and the nice lady at the front desk couldn't help us because she was busy assisting several other guests. I had to hunt down the cleaning staff on another floor. It wasn't a big deal, but yet another small annoyance.
The second night was a totally different story. We returned to the hotel at around 11pm, and the guy at the front desk barely acknowledged us as we walked by. Unfortunately, our room keys stopped working, so we had to go back down and ask him to swap them out for us. It was like we were disturbing him. He barely said two words to us during the entire interaction before he went and sat back down at the TV in the lobby area.
The 24/7 galley is nice, and one of the reasons we like Hyatt, but the prices were really high for non-alcohol drinks. We actually paid more for a couple of bottles of water than we did for a couple of drinks.
Breakfast was ok, but nothing special. They also started taking the food away 10 minutes before breakfast was actually over. I do realize that breakfast was winding down, but would it hurt to leave things out until breakfast actually ends, especially when there are guests still in the dining area?
We probably will not return to this Hyatt location. The stay certainly wasn't terrible, but for the price, I...
Read moreFor someone that frequents MANY Hyatt Hotels when we travel, I was extremely disappointed with our long stay at this hotel.
We usually don't ask housekeeping to come when we travel, but since it was a longer stay, we removed the "do not disturb" tag from the door in the morning. We came back to the room later in the day to find nothing was done. The clerk at the desk said housekeeping was gone for the day and that they could give us the new sheets for us to replace on our own to which I said no thanks. Additionally, he tried to solve the problem by saying he would alert housekeeping to clean our room the next day. He also said that they scan each floor at 8am to see which rooms would need housekeeping...which honestly feels super early when you are a family with littles..and that's why housekeeping missed us. The next morning we left as soon as we could, saw housekeeping in the hallway who I needed to tell them to please service our room.
While the room was tidied up in the evening, sheets were not changed and my kids had noticed things on their pillowcases. So we had to call down again and just replace the pillowcases for another night.
It was also in the high 80s/90s in Nashville when we stayed and at night, even with our attempt at adjusting the a/c, it was SO hot in our room and the fan would not blow until 7 or 8am. I'm not sure if this was an issue every person in the hotel deal with or just our room. The beds were so uncomfortable. The lighting in the bathroom was dim. The elevator made a grinding sound every time it opened and closed and only one of the two elevators worked well and the lights often flickered. I did try the fitness rooms that also looked like it hadn't been checked as the machines were a little finnicky and I'm not sure if anyone cleans them besides patrons. It just seemed like this hotel needs some more TLC and maintenance.
Food was also not that great but my kids got by with the yogurt cups the hotel had.
We will not be coming back to...
