Stayed for a short visit. Pulling in from the interstate, it is towards the back away from the road. Upon entering the hotel, the parking was narrow. Inside, there is a huge chandelier giving the illusion of it being a nicer hotel. It is not. There was no greeting when we stepped up to the counter. When trying to sign in, I was asked if I had already paid. Which I purchased the stay thru Choice Hotels. We stayed in room 236. When we entered the room, there was a strong bleach smell. We dropped our things and went to get dinner. It was a convenient location where we needed to be. When we got back to our room later, we showered and got ready for bed. The bathtub/shower combo… the tub had a major dip down the middle to where you had to stand with your feet spread out as to not be standing in dirty water because the water was not draining properly. Even the next morning, the water was still standing. The doors were clearly dirty, the comforter on my side was ripped and stained. The bathroom also had red splatters which looked like they tried to cover up with shiny paint over the flat paint already there. The bathroom vent had clearly been left uncleaned for some time, it had a thick layer of dust. There is no proper ventilation in there. The carpet between the beds was stained. With what? I’m not sure. I was afraid to touch/look any more. The carpet going up the stairs from the lobby were dirty, definitely hadn’t been cleaned in some time. When we checked out, a gentleman was up front wiping the counter, saw me come up to the counter and didn’t acknowledge that I was trying to get business done until I had to speak up and say “good morning “. After checking out, upon returning home, I noticed I left my phone charger plugged into the outlet beside the first bed to the right, I called the hotel. Told them just as written above. I was told they’d go check, they’d call me back in three minutes.( 9:02 pm.) I called back around 9:22pm, was put on hold immediately with the music… twice. Then I called back and stayed on hold till they took me off. Only for them to tell me “I don’t know, I didn’t see, I will have room cleaner check, I’ll call you tomorrow”. By that, I’m sure I’m not getting a call back. I would’ve gladly paid for shipping or mailed them a prepaid envelope just to get my charger back. Add dishonesty to the list. This hotel was definitely purchased for a price then “remodeled” poorly. They gave it the landlord special. Poor cleanliness all around. I do not recommend staying here. I wouldn’t feel comfortable staying here again.

I should start off with this. I don’t normally take time to leave a negative review. It seems like a waste of time and I prefer to move on from a bad situation. Somehow attempting to stay here and the ridiculous way the owner of this hotel acts has me motivated to take the time to write this. It helps that we are currently driving home 10 Hours and I have time.

If one person chooses to go somewhere else based on my review then it is worth it. No one should ever experience the childish and pathetic way this owner deals with their customers.

Let me set the scene for you. Here we were driving from out of state for a little cheap spring break for the kids. We arrive at our hotel late. We had called ahead to let them know we were still coming. We finally got to the hotel and checked in. My wife ran in to check in with our daughter and I waited in the car with our luggage. We were told where the elevator was and how to get to our room. So far so good. No problems yet. We unload our luggage and get ready to figure out dinner. This is where it gets wild. Before I can even shut the door and sit down we get a call from the front desk. “Who is that with you?” they ask my wife on the phone. We had a couple friends we were visiting help us bring our stuff to the room. My wife says in response “those are some friends we are visiting with. The response we get is “no visitors, tell them to leave now”. My wife is confused by this tone and attitude. She says, “ok, give me a minute I’ll be down to the front desk to talk”. We needed time to understand what the issue was and honestly didn’t love that they creepily watch you on the cameras and then come at you like you didn’t just pay to stay in their arguably sad little hotel. We take a moment and decide, first it’s not that nice a hotel, we certainly aren’t missing out by leaving and second, there were plenty of other options. Here is where it gets crazy. I’ll try to keep it short and to the point. My wife and I head down to the front desk. We inform the front desk that we would rather leave all together than be treated like children and told our friends can’t hang out with us while we are there. It’s not a hostel. They say fine and want to charge us $149 for the night we are not staying there. I disagree with them and request we speak to someone that can help us resolve the issue. The front desk kid could not. He said only the manager could and he had just left. That ended up being a lie. We went back and forth politely for a few minutes and then the front desk kid said “hold on let me check on something”. He comes back with the manager that had “just left”. Clearly he was not gone just sitting in back hoping we’d just take it. As the manager comes around the corner he is already shouting about calling the police and charging us $250 or even the whole 4 days. We go round and round in a ridiculous loop of me being shocked at what a horrible human being this guy is and him yelling and smirking as if he is winning some battle of wits or something. At this point I realize, I’m arguing with a horrible unreasonable fool. There is no point to continuing the conversation. After settling on the 1 night charge, he wasn’t budging or listening in any way. I knew we could rectify it later so I just want to get out of there. As we are waiting for a receipt, he looks at me and says “don’t mess with me, I can still charge you after you leave”. What!??? I ask, “are you threatening us?” Seriously?. He just smirks and says it’s not a threat. I’m at this point lost for words and I just want to leave this crazy person’s hotel. Again, I tried to be reasonable, I tried to communicate. This guy has no business owning anything. It gets even better. We leave as demanded by the insane manager. We check our account and he has charged us the 1 night charge and additional totaling over $1000. All except $149 of it is fraudulent. Do not stay here. They are criminals. Nancy at choice customer service was great however and helped us get a free...

My husband and I stayed here from Aug. 4 to Aug 6. This was a last-minute trip that I planned through the Choice Hotel reservation line. The gentleman I spoke with on the 800# made it very clear that once the cancelation time has passed, I would not get a refund - no matter what. Even if I don't check in or leave early. I think that kinda messed with my perception some. I didn't report any issue I had to the front desk because I thought it wouldn't have mattered - I am paying for it anyway. We rented a jacuzzi suite for both nights. I ultimately choose this hotel because of the suite and convenience of location. Here is my personal opinion on our stay: Positives- Check-in was super easy and quick. The suite is 2 rooms. A bedroom and then a living room with jacuzzi. It was very spacious and well laid out. Small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker included. Generous amount of counter space, cupboard, closet, bench, and desk area. The bed was so comfortable! There are lots of pillows to choose from The bedding was very clean and cozy. Plenty of lights and lamps throughout the room. Since this is a no smoking hotel, we would go outside to smoke. Easy access in and out of the building. Good lighting outside and in the parking lot. Lots of cameras covering inside and outside the building. I noticed in some reviews that the bar next door is mentioned. Yes, there is a bar. Then a billards club, and a bar & grill within the 2 next buildings. A security guard from the closest bar was outside the entire time it was open, and then some time before open and close. All patrons were patted down before being admitted into the premises. At no point did I ever feel uncomfortable or concerned about my safety. Breakfast was the typical buffet style. Waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels, muffins, yogurt, juice, and coffee. The lady who worked in that area kept everything clean and stocked. I appreciated the little things, like ketchup/hot sauce for the eggs. Check-out was once again quick and easy. Any staff that I encountered were friendly. Negative: The water started out hot for the jacuzzi but got quite cold before it was completely filled. Which did surprise me since it doesn't have a dedicated water heater. I can't imagine that many people are taking showers at the same time on a Sunday night to run the hotel out of hot water. Once you finally got it filled up and turned on- there was barely any pressure coming out. Most jets didn't work at all, and the couple that did, didn't work very well. So the tub was more a warm-ish, slightly swirling bath. Not the hot, relaxing, beat on my sore back jets I was expecting. Very limited seating in the room. One chair for the desk and the most uncomfortable love seat couch known to man. The couch is a pull out bed. We never pulled the bed out, just sat on the couch to watch TV. It was lumpy, uneven with hard sides. No matter how many times you tried to change positions, you will still be uncomfortable. It could also use a good cleaning. The TV in the bedroom didn't work. We couldn't get a signal on it. So, back to the uncomfortable couch. There is no coffee table Thank goodness that there was a tall side table. I don't want to put my food or drinks on the floor, nor do I want to get up and walk to the desk every time I need a sip. I highly recommend to the hotel to put a small coffee table in there (along with burning that couch ;)). There is an inside pool and spa. Unfortunately, the spa wasn't working. Another warm-ish, swirling bath. I also understand that this was out of their control. They were waiting for a pool guy to come and change out the switch. So between this spa and the tub in the room not working, I still have a sore back. The pool and spa both need to be cleaned and swept around the deck. It was too cloudy, and too many floaties in the pool. A little back-wash through the sand filter would make a huge difference. Maybe that is a part of the job, the pool man they are waiting for, does. I will give them...

If I could give it a 0 I would I booked a room on bookings.com for Thanksgiving for my kids and I to visit with family. The Hotel was a construction zone completely unsafe for children scaffolding in the Lobby locks didn't work holes in the walls. When I went in the Lobby in the cubby in wall for decoration there was a water leak on the other side of the wall from where food is served for breakfast in the morning it was more than just a leak it was a water fall that shouldn't of been there at the same time I was asking the lady at the desk if there was any way of switching rooms with a lock that worked because ours didn't and I had my autistic son with me and had to be able to lock the door she was un able to switch at that time she said because she was dealing with the water leaking into the Lobby key word it was not my room but the Lobby that had a water leak. Getting to the hotel through traffic is horrific and the entry to the parking lot its filled with homeless BBQ set up and everything.Later that even after we managed to figure out how to tie our door shut, We found drug paraphernalia hidden through out the room again I have a non-verbal verbal autistic son who will find anything and put it in his mouth who also has epilepsy so we searched the room found a total of 3 drug related objects had he gotten ahold of these objects and gone into a seizure this could have been life threatening to my son. The room was dirty and not cleaned well obviously. The only thing edible at breakfast was the waffles the eggs " my 17 year old son referred to as yellow jello" well think at least the pool looks clean we gave it a try but it was ice cold which the pool was the main reason I had book that hotel and the kids couldn't even handle the cold more than a few minutes the jets didn't work on the hot tub and it was only luke warm I called bookings.com to report the conditions of the hotel and stated that we had booked for 4 nights but we would only stay 3 because we needed to stay for the holiday but we would leave Friday instead of Saturday because we only staying long enough to get through the holiday just to sleep because it was unsafe for my child and if anyway possible I would like a refund for the last night they stated I would need to talk to the hotel manager. So I called the hotel manager who was completely rude told me to shut up and quit playing games at this point I decided to leave a reveiw on bookings.com which he replied to very rudely stay there were no issues and that he also entered the room while I was there without permission I had a do not disturb card on the door and did not give permission for entry just because I made a complaint to bookings.com customer service. I also reported this whole situation to corporate this manager needs to be fired if not criminal charges pressed against him he should not be able to treat people this way and I would only book a room at this hotel if you are prepared to pay to stay in conditions worse than a homeless shelter. I didn't ask for a full refund either I asked for a refund for the one night went refused to stay because I didn't want my son there long than we had to be there this treatment was completely uncalled for and I will fight this until something is done about it. I HOPE THE HOTEL MANAGER READS THIS AND REPLIES AS RUDELY AS HE DID TO MY REVEIW ON BOOKINGS.COM PROVE MY POINT. I DID NOTHING WRONG WE EVEN CLEANED THE ROOM OURSELVES BEFORE WE LEFT VACUUMED REMOVED OUR BEDDING AND TOWELS TOOK IT TO THE LAUNDRY ROOM AND TOOK OUT OUR OWN TRASH!!! This is the treatment you will receive in return of trying your best to be a good respectful customer he actually told me to shut up!! All because they provided unsafe...
