As I was being seated, the server picked some crumpled straw wrappers off the table by hand, indicating the table has not been cleaned or sanitized between guests.
The presence of crumbs confirms this suspicion. I looked around at other tables and saw the same tell tale crumbs.
One of the servers is standing at the counter and serving food without a mask. Line cooks have their masks under their nose.
The restaurant does have dividers up between the table, but Im not really sure what the point is when they're not even following pre-covid BASIC sanitation standards.
Its a real shame because this restaurant is styled after waffle house with a Mexican flair and I was really excited for the fusion experience. Looks like I'll stick to my corporate chain that can at least enforce sanitation standards.
Food: I got the hot chicken and waffle with a side of ranch. This is NOT Nashville Hot Chicken. This is Buffalo chicken in a generic Buffalo sauce. The waffle is slightly larger than an Ego waffle. It was served with a packet of sugar free syrup which I didn't even pay attention to until I discovered I literally couldn't taste it.
There was a hair on my coffee mug.
Oh, the sever without a mask thats running food? Also playing on her phone in between which is unsanitary.
This restaurant gives me the impression of someone trying to marry Waffle House with a high end Nashville eatery and failing at either. Only giving it two stars because the interior was decorated very well.
I wont be returning.
Quick edit: I paid with a credit card and they brought me a card reader I had to write on with my finger for gratuity and signature.
COME. ON. Are you intentionally trying to spread disease? Not even covid, this is just gross. If you're going to present me with a touch screen it needs to be SPOTLESS and sanitized. Not smeared with only fingerprints of...
Read moreLike other low reviews the food is sub par at best. We went on a busy Saturday and was seated outside. Ordered the hot chicken and waffle but they may as well get rid of the name. The meal is, at best cooked. Not much flavor or seasoning I also ordered an orange juice mimosa which also was sub par and may was not really that cold. I'm convinced the reviews with high ratings may not cook as often, as you can (and should) make this yourself at home. I'd recommend that if they want to make hot chicken at least make a hot sauce or get one from the store (Louisiana hot sauce is hotter than this) and is pretty much cayenne pepper with red colored sauce. A little disappointed for the price you can go somewhere better. If you are low on cash or have kids I understand too. But stick to fast food unless you just want a waffle made from a waffle maker 🧇. Looks good but that's about it. Image is from my girlfriend's morning breakfast waffle looks good but not really seasoned or added flavor. I recommend something like First Watch or even waffle house if you want breakfast. I will say that the peach ice tea was nice...
Read moreI recently ordered breakfast from The Waffle Taco in Antioch TN through Door Dash, opting for the standard breakfast (Egg/Bac/Tst/H-Brown) and Egg/Sausage Tacos. The delivery time was reasonable, and the food arrived promptly and in good condition.
The breakfast items were delicious, with the classic combination of eggs, bacon, toast, and hashbrowns hitting the spot. The Egg/Sausage Tacos were also flavorful and satisfying. However, I found the prices to be somewhat high for breakfast fare, which may be a consideration for some diners.
Despite the pricing, I didn't encounter any issues with my order or delivery process. Overall, The Waffle Taco provided a good breakfast experience, and I would consider ordering from them again. The option to dine-in is also appealing, and I might explore that option in the future.
If you're looking for a convenient breakfast option with tasty food and reliable service, The Waffle Taco is worth a try. Just be prepared for slightly higher prices compared to other breakfast spots...
