I really don’t like bashing businesses, but I can’t take it anymore. There’s so many things wrong with this establishment. I don’t even know where to begin. My family and I have been staying here for the past month and a half. Two weeks into our stay the elevator goes out. I normally don’t mind taking the stairs, but when we booked we booked our room on the third floor. That was before the elevator went out. I had no way of knowing. It’s such a hassle brining in groceries, or having elderly visitors. The elevator is STILL broken. The next thing I’ll comment on, is the cleanliness. It looks like they don’t have a janitor or a clean crew. There’s always TRASH strewn all over the stair wells (it also stinks like mold, so don't get me started on that) They wait for the “trash rooms” to pile up before taking out the trash. I’ve seen roaches in the trash rooms as a result. The laundry machines are expensive, and they never dry your clothes all the way, despite setting it to high heat. I’ve ruined a lot of clothes. The laundry room is also always a mess as well. Housekeeping can be rude and they’re always gossiping loudly in Spanish. (I know. I speak and understand Spanish.) There’s been a couple of times where my room couldn’t get done, because of my cat and they show up at random times. I have to put my cat in a carrier for I’m not sure how long until they can get to my room. Which isn’t fair to my cat. Breakfast is “grab and go” which is just a muffin or oatmeal. But who has the time to make and eat oatmeal “on the go” There’s just a lot to take in. The hotel does have a couple of nice employees who helped me exchange my sheets, and towels. So that was nice. However one employee, Natasha, isn’t the friendliest or most welcoming. It seems like every interaction I’ve had with her she seems displeased, and I’m inconveniencing her in some way. Almost annoyed. She seems very tense all the time. Maybe I’m miss reading. It also takes awhile before anyone at the front desk comes to help you. They’ll have you standing in the lobby. You have to shout “Hellooo” over the counter for someone to walk out of a back room to tend to you. This place is also a hot spot for police/criminal activity. They’re always patrolling the parking lots around the area. Which is great, I haven’t personally witnessed anything out of the ordinary. There’s been a couple times where I’ve seen blood outside?? Maybe that’s why 😂 All in all my stay hasn’t been good. Like at all! I’m not even sure who to get in touch...
Read moreThis is supposed to be a dog friendly hotel. There are blood stains and food stains on the carpet. The rooms are hot. I generally felt uncomfortable my entire stay. I made them aware I had 3 dogs before checking in and while I was on the phone making the reservation. When I came to check in they asked if I had pets I said yes I have 3 dogs. I booked the hotel from Friday -Monday and the first night I checked in I left to get food and got a call that my dogs were barking. I checked in at 10 pm went to get food and was back by 12 am and was being harassed about my dogs barking. I asked if I’m not in the room how am I supposed to control my dogs barking in a “dog friendly hotel” I even asked if I should check out and find another hotel. The shift lead was on my side the next day saying if you don’t want to hear barking go to a hotel that does not allow dogs. I’m trying to enjoy myself after the damages done to my home after hurricane beryl trying to get my mind off of the damages done to my home but I’m dealing with the front desk harassing me about something I’m not able to control. I take very good care of my dogs and I’m being told I need to do better and take care of them and if I didn’t they wouldn’t have been with me in the first place. If they are in an unfamiliar environment of course they are going to bark if I’m Not there. My last night staying here I had to get the police involved because one of the people that stayed on the floor that apparently lived there permanently in room 309 approached me aggressively saying my dogs are barking constantly which they don’t. Only when I’m not in the room. She threatened me and my partner, trying to protect me, let her know she needed to calm down and address the front desk. She made the last 2 days of my stay feel unsafe because she would knock on my door and harass me as I was entering and leaving the elevator. Saying you broke you’re here on a FEMA program and just being all around aggressive. I’m not sure how she knew how I was on that program because the only person that knew was the front desk person an Hispanic young man. I’m not sure if he disclosed that information to her because she lives there but I felt violated and felt like my personal information was provided to someone that did not need to know it. I will NEVER be back and this place has forever left a bad taste in my mouth. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU...
Read moreProbably one of the worse hotels I've stayed at circumstance-wise. We arrived in Houston at about 11am, and thankfully, were able to hang out with some friends from the area til our "reservation" was ready. At about 9pm we decided to head to the hotel and get checked in -- we arrived, (we being a party of four) to have the following happen: A) Our reservation, despite having been placed 3 months in advance, was not available.
Day 1: All of the non-smoking rooms with 2 twin beds were taken. So,
B) We, the four of us, were told instead that we would have a smoking room, and that it would have a single queen bed.
Day 2: With it being Thanksgiving week, most hotels were now fully booked. We didn't have anywhere else to go. Later that day they moved us to a smoking room with 2 twin beds. (None of us smoke and the smell was repulsive)
Day 3: It's Thanksgiving and we're all having a great time in Houston. I wish our Hotel wasnt so crappy, and I wish the staff at the Hotel was more helpful. I'm just happy we didn't have to sleep in our car or go home. (We drove down to Houston from Nebraska, a 14 hour drive)
All that being said, the main thing that annoys me about the hotel is the people who stay there. It's not an environment of staff helping customers, it's seriously hotel-disguised landlords and mostly permanent/"extended stay" visitors. Weird noises and people should not be around every corner. The staff there was not helpful or interested in solving our issues. Everything that went wrong was always "not on their end", and management was nowhere to be seen until several days into the visit.
Suffice it to say I've never had such a poor hotel stay. What's to be learned from this:
If you're looking for a hotel where you feel your stay is important; where you are treated as a guest, not a visitor; do NOT stay here. It's not worth your time unless there are absolutely no other similarly priced hotels in the area.
If you managed to read through this all, I'm amazed. I would have looked up a new hotel by now. Good luck, and if you happen to reserve a room: I sincerely hope your stay is...
