Gordo Ninos NASA — Restaurant in Houston

We just had Gordo Ninos for the first time, and we were super impressed. We ordered with UberEats, so I'm even more impressed that the food came well presented, hot, and fresh. We ordered the Twelve Spliff Tacos Special along with chips, queso, and salsa, then we added on some orders of the Double Cup Elote Special to put the icing on the cake. It was definitely enough food for me, my wife and our son.

For the starters, the Elotes Special was crazy good, and not like your typical Elotes, because they added some of that Lean Sauce; which made it pop! The chips were seasoned nicely, and the salsa was like no other green sauce I've ever had. Then lastly, the queso has to be in my top 3 quesos, and the Lean Sauce they put in it made my taste buds ignite!

As for the main course, the Spliff Tacos were absolute fire! They're basically flautas, but with added flair. They were crispy and full of flavor; which is what we love, then the toppings set it off like a rocket! The presentation was awesome as well, they looked like someone took great care in making them. Whoever made these flautas definitely knows how to plate food very well. I would've taken a picture, but we dug in too quick lol. so maybe next time I'll update it with some.

Overall our take-out/delivery experience was great, but we will have to dine-in next time to get the full feel of things. I know this is a long review, but it was well deserved, and hopefully this will encourage them to keep making quality Mexican food in the Clear Lake/Houston area. With all that being said, I rate Gordo Ninos 5 stars, and we will definitely be back...

Absolutely delicious!

First, I ordered through a delivery app and the food was well packaged. The elote was double cupped to keep it warm and had a tamper proof seal across it. The bag was also sealed with a tamper proof sticker. It’s nice to see a small shop put an emphasis on safety and quality.

The food was excellent. Went with three of their street tacos… pastor, chicken and carne. I ordered early (10:45am) and the carne wasn’t ready yet, so they sent 2 pastor tacos in its place. The pastor was very flavorful and the fresh cilantro and onions complemented the meat perfectly. The shredded chicken was likewise delicious… and very moist which isn’t easy with chicken. The lean sauce, as others have said, is a must try and adds a visual layer that further enhances the meal. Saw another post about them not making their own tortillas and not heating them up… but the corn tortillas were exactly how I like them and consistent with plenty of other top Mexican restaurants. The elote was off the charts, and left my stomach full and happy! Can’t wait to come back and try the spliff tacos (chicken flautas)… might have to come for dinner tonight.

I don’t have anything negative to say. I would have liked some fresh lime wedges… unsure if that was an option I missed on the app. Also, not sure if it’s possible with your current setup, but would love an option for...

If you visit Houston, you MUST try Gordo Niños!

Undeniably some of the most flavorful and unique food I’ve ever had. This place effortlessly puts all love and soul into their product. The Lean Sauce is AMAZING and is included on everything. Menu is extensive, with an array of options for every desire of every taste palette. The owner and team is super friendly and accommodating to every guest that walks in the door. I ordered the award winning Pastor Tacos, which comes on corn tortilla with lean sauce (the purple sauce) and chronic sauce (green salsa) onions and cilantro. Those little guys are AMAZING! Everyone I saw order easily ordered at least 6 at a time. They have huge killadillas, (quesadilla), Pastor Fries, Spliffs (flauta style tacos), Corn in a cup (elote), and more. The cool thing also is that my freind is on keto diet and they offer Keto options on the menu as well. When I ordered my food from the counter, the Chef was sure to personally greet me and thank me for visiting as well as other guests and take a small moment out of the busy rush to acknowledge those who ordered. The place is a WHOLE VIBE, I enjoy this unique concept and every person I recommend here has become returning clientele just as I have.
