Well, this is one for the record books. When you’re pulling up you think, oh this won’t be so bad, clean exterior, fresh pavement, new paint, and well manicured landscaping. Unfortunately all of those hopes are crushed when you walk in. The desk associates execute their jobs with precision but have no people skills whatsoever. Sadly, I would have preferred a kiosk to check in. At least then I would have received a welcome to start and a thank you to end. Most surprising was how clean and inviting the lobby was versus the in room experience. As we made our way to the room we encountered what can only be described as a musty moist odor. The dirt buildup in the corners, cup full of tea, out of order signs, and plywood sheets that lined the walls covering mold was a good indication of what was awaiting us in the room. In the room, rusty lamps and chairs, dirty walls, and a wet floor around the toilet were all part of the amenities here. The ceilings are high which helped prevent us from identifying the black spotty substance on the walls and ceiling’s. It was either more mold or spiders, either way, a loss for us. I know what you’re thinking, why on earth would we stay at this point?!?!?!? We looked for another spot but we’re pressed for time and the other nearby hotels were booked up. Surprise, surprise. After getting back from our event, the cup full of tea was still hanging out. We get inside and every surface of the room feels wet. I commit to going to sleep as it was very late and that was that. The next morning I wake up and decide that knowing I’m headed home today, showering here isn’t gonna happen. I head towards the lobby and get graced with cold coffee…… on a Sunday morning at 7am. Myself and the few others who were hoping for a hot cup of joe were told the cook is running late and the server hasn’t even arrived yet. Needless to say, no breakfast for a bit. We checked out shortly after without any further surprises. We won’t be staying here again and I suggest you continue to look for hotels before committing to staying here. TripAdvisor also has some very honest reviews on this hotel as well. Almost forgot, Mr. Tea Cup was still there when we left! Enjoy the photos!

This place should be closed until the new owners can find someone who actually cares to work there. I’d be ashamed to have my name associated with it if I was them. Was on the road for 30 days and this was by far the worst experience I had. Upon checking in on a Friday night the front desk receptionist, Miesha told me there was no hot water. I later learned that the hotel’s restaurant and bar are not operating and the laundry (which I needed) and the fitness center were all closed because they weren’t working. Even the elevator inspections are overdue. NO ONE WORKS HERE. The two couples in front of my tried to cancel their reservations and Miesha assured them they wouldn’t be charged, but based on my experience I’d wager they were. I agreed to stay bc I was tired, there was nothing else available and Miesha offer me a $30 discount. She said she couldnt do it that night, but her manager could and called her manager, Allison, who I spoke to personally on the phone. Allison assured me if I called her on Monday she would refund $30 of the bill. Of course on Monday Allison wasn’t available. I emailed her on Tuesday but no response. On Wednesday I spoke to her on the phone and after politely and patiently listening to her make one excuse after another why she couldn’t keep her word, and how she fired Miesha, she told me she didn’t have to “put up” with me and actually hung up on me. Choice hotels should completely disassociate themselves from this dump immediately. I’ve included some photos. DO NOT GIVE THEM A DIME. You’re better off staying in your car and if I weren’t on a motorcycle I would have.

The hotel has no distinguishing signs other than a sign by the end of the very long driveway which is shared with two other buildings. The lobby area looks nice. The pool is open but the fitness center is closed. The rooms are fine but need updating. Metal fixtures in the rooms are rusty and look old, and the carpet feels damp. I've noticed many hotels in the Choice family are switching to laminate flooring these days--just a thought. When I arrived a couple was telling the concierge they had booked a room and then canceled it because nobody would ever answer the phone. The concierge said the phone lines keep going down. The couple asked if the restaurant was open (it was just before 5pm) and the concierge said it had closed for the day at 4:30. My room was comfortable and I was able to get a decent night's sleep, but when I went to get breakfast I discovered that the restaurant isn't open at all ("due to renovations"), and there was a sign telling guests to go to the "commisary" (a vending machine). So instead of the "free hot southern breakfast" that's advertised on the website as being "included" in the boutique-hotel price, guests are supposed to pay for a vending-machine honey-bun, pay for yucky fast food, or eat whatever snacks they can find in their suitcases. Very disappointing. I've been a Choice Privileges member for 20 years and stay at Choice hotels several times a year. I feel like hotel that advertises "free" (i.e., included in the room rate) hot breakfast should at least have a grab and go option when the restaurant is closed--or give guests a restaurant voucher. Their prices don't change when there's a pandemic or when they're renovating, but they "can't" deliver on the advertised included perks. Why should customers pay the same price for less? I've noticed that the chain's "boutique " hotels usually skimp on things--advertising freebies that don't materialize. Had the same issue at an "Ascend Collection" hotel in New Orleans last year. Due to Covid, they didn't have breakfast and guests were encouraged to pay extra for food from the hotel's convenience store. Y'all, Econolodge at least has free individually-wrapped pastries. If they can do it, so can the "high-end" places that charge double what Econolodge does.

Update: It's a year later and I'm back. Decided to give this place another chance despite last year's disappointing showing. Everything is pretty much the same. There is a new sign at the turnoff to get to the hotel, which helps if you are unfamiliar with the area. Rooms have been updated recently, but like last year the carpets look grungy and feel damp, and the fixtures are old and rusty. When I opened the door to my room upon arrival, I noticed the TV had been left on. Seems like a waste of electricity and money. My room had a nice view of the pool deck and river--which was spoiled by the dirty-looking pool. Granted, the pool probably isn't open yet, but ew! Hope it gets a deep-clean soon. The restaurant still appears to be non-functional. I'm not holding my breath, but maybe there will be a hot breakfast tomorrow morning? I was just about to go to bed, pulled back the duvet cover, and...there were no sheets on the bed! Walked down to the desk to get sheets and had to put them on myself. Apparently, housekeeping was watching TV instead of changing the sheets. When you charge over $100/night, there should at least be sheets on the bed--or give me a discount if I have to do housekeeping's job. If I have to be in Natchez for work again I probably will...

I will preface this review with the fact that I stay in hotels roughly ~115 days per year with a mix between all US brands. (I have Platinum Elite status with Choice Hotels.) This is by far the worst hotel I have stayed at in the last 6+ years, to include internationally, in second and third world countries. I very rarely leave a review but in this case, I felt the need to conduct a review. I did not bother to provide this information to the hotel staff nor ask for or provide them an opportunity to offer compensation or even change the room. Based on feedback from the other individuals in my group, their rooms were in a very similar condition. Some of them slept in their clothes on top of the beds due to the poor conditions and appearance of unclean rooms.|The room was extremely run down and the bathroom was disgusting. Honestly, if I had the opportunity and time that night, I would have just left and stayed somewhere else. (I have photos for proof of the following). The shower/tub had a massive hairball on the drain indicating the room had not been cleaned and there were large brown streak marks in the tub. Although it appeared that someone had defecated in the tub, it was actually rust because I attempted to wipe and clean the tub prior to taking a shower. I used toilet paper to pick up the hair so there is no excuse or reason for it to have been there if the room had been properly cleaned. My wife was so uncomfortable with the unsanitary conditions that she placed a towel down in the tub in order to keep her feet clean while in the shower. Everything metal in the room was rusted, some to the point there was no shine/coating left, including all the lamps, the towel/linen racks, and base of the doors. The bathroom counter was clearly unfinished and just added to the overall extremely poor condition of the room. The smoke detector was removed from the wall and there were exposed wires and a large hole. It seemed so out of place, and based on the totality of the circumstances, I climbed on the bed and used a phone flashlight to check for any "devices." There was a significant amount of, what appeared to be, candle wax dripped on the carpet around the end of the bed. The A/C unit was extremely loud and had a constant loud buzzing noise (whistle), although it was able to keep the room at a comfortable temperature.|The staff was nice enough but upon arrival, I did have to wait, saying hello a couple times, walking and wandering around the lobby and storage room areas, finally locating an employee who could check us in.|I was completely and utterly disappointed with my accommodations. I genuinely hope my review is taken seriously and major actions are taken to improve the experience for future guests. I come to the area annually and I will never stay at this property again, and frankly it makes me question the Choice brand in...

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE!!! Our family hosted our 2019 reunion here. The front desk staff was very nice and professional at all times. The housekeeping staff was rude and disrespectful. I checked in on July 3, 2019 and checked out July 7, 2019. Not once, the entire stay, did housekeeping knock on the door to see if we needed service. We would see them in the hall and try to quickly get out of the room so they could come in and clean, but when we would return, the room would be in the same condition we left it in. EVERY SINGLE DAY I had to go downstairs to the front desk and request that someone come and clean our room. Then when they would come, there was always the question of what we needed done in the room. Uh… we need the room cleaned!!! Take out the trash, bring fresh linen, make the beds! You know… standard things that should be done in every hotel room all the time! Well, they never got it, so every day, we went to the front desk and every day someone that was not our assigned cleaning lady would come to the room to clean it after the other staff had gone for the day. The most disturbing thing to happen for my family took place in my sister’s room. She, her husband and two small children shared a room. The baby slept in the play pin and she and her husband slept in the bed closest to the door because the bed closest to the window looked as though it was broken. They decided it would be best for my 6-year-old niece to sleep there since she was little and could get comfortable. Amazingly, she didn’t have to sleep in that bed until the last night of their stay because she was always upstairs with her cousins for a sleepover. The last night of our family planned activities, everyone said their goodbyes and all the children returned to their parents’ rooms to prepare for travel. My niece went back with her parents to their room and her dad pulled back the sheet to put her in the bed. Around 8:30 in the morning, my niece woke up stating that she felt something hard in her bed. When my sister asked her what it was, she said she didn’t know but it scratched her. My sister got up and turned on the light and pulled back the sheets, only to find A DRIED POOL OF BLOOD on the sheets. Well!!! How disgusting is that. My sister met me at the front desk and told me and the ladies working what happened. The manager for housekeeping told my sister that the rooms had been cleaned and that they must have put it there! My sister was furious as was I. The manager for housekeeping asked to step aside to speak with her. I, my other sister and my mother followed. Their response was disrespectful and they argued that the room had been cleaned before we arrived and that the blood was not there. They even accused them of having sex and trying to...
