The check-in process was nice and the clerk was very pleasant. When we got to our room, we had some issues though. Nothing major. Just duct tape in place of a transition strip on the floor and a light bulb out in the bathroom. I know a bad bulb is a pretty petty complaint until you realize that your wife won't be able to evenly apply her makeup in the morning. Tried to swap the bulb with one in a lamp, but the one in the bathroom had a special 2 prong base that didn't match any other bulb in the room. We asked the desk if they had one, but they only had the standard bulb. We were graciously given a different room which was in much better repair however, still had issues (that we could live with). Both lights in the bathroom worked, but one was literally 6500k blue (it said so right on the bulb). I moved that bulb to the first room and took a bulb matching the color in the new room. I wish I would have taken a picture of the blue bulb. It was like a holiday light. Can't believe a maintenance person would have put that in and thought it was acceptable. Cleanliness: The public area's are spotless and in good repair. For the most part the rooms are as well. Just don't look in the corners like I did when plugging in an extension cord for my C-PAP machine. I would have plugged it into the lamp base next to my bed, except the bedstand light was missing (there I go with the lights again) Comfort: We were in a King Suite and it was very spacious. The furniture was standard hotel stuff that was okay, but not great. They basically called it a suite because they moved the small fridge and microwave from its traditional hotel home under the TV and moved it over to an 18 inch counter with an RV sized sink. The bed was Horrible! Rock hard. This was particularly disappointing because the typical Holiday Inn Express bed is fantastic. The bed and the breakfast is why we stay at this chain whenever one is available. The Breakfast: Well, we stayed over Christmas weekend and the hotel paused the standard hot breakfast. We were not notified of this change until check-in and we were not compensated for it. They instead provided a continental style breakfast. This basically means that they put some stuff out and when it was gone, it was gone. We came down less than an hour after the meal period began. At that point they only had bread for toast, some butter and honey and dry cereal. Luckily there were still a couple of milks left. Coffee was empty and not to be refilled. Creamer was gone, so making coffee in the room was no longer an option. While I don't agree with or appreciate the scaled back meal, at least refill the options that are being offered. How many people showed up after us and didn't get breakfast at all?? Summary: It's relatively clean. The staff is nice. The rooms are in bad need of a refresh. I am a former frequent business traveler. I always stayed at the IHG hotels because they are constantly clean, comfortable and in good repair. Today as a leisure traveler, my wife and I still stay at IHG hotels for these same reasons. This hotel doesn't live up to the IHG standards. We won't be back to this hotel.

Rating: 3.5/5 The Clarion was like sleeping in a damp basement someone forgot about for a decade — mold in the halls, mystery stains, and an air quality rating of “don’t inhale too deeply.” I left that place faster than a roach when the lights come on. The Holiday Inn Express felt like crossing into a different universe. The lobby actually smelled good — like they’d heard of cleaning supplies. Hallways here still have some stains and a light Mississippi River mustiness, but it’s background noise compared to the Clarion’s full-blown biohazard vibes. My first room had a dirty toilet and a “someone just checked out” feel. The front desk superstar swapped me to a clean room, tossed in some points, and basically saved the day. Night one: Slept great. Morning two: Woke up to housekeeping knocking because my Do Not Disturb sign “wasn’t on right” (it was). Morning three: Knock at 9 AM asking if I’d checked out yet… with an 11 AM checkout. Small stuff, but kind of a buzzkill. Punchline: Compared to the Clarion, this is the Four Seasons. Compared to the Four Seasons… yeah, not quite. ⸻ AIGHT, FOR ALL THOSE WHO WANT AN HONEST ACTUAL REVIEW: This place is a solid mid-tier hotel. Staff is friendly, lobby is clean, AC works, shower’s hot, and the beds are comfortable. Hallways could use some sprucing up, and housekeeping needs to chill with the early knocks, but I’d stay here again if I needed a safe, decent spot in Natchez.

The only great experience about this was the front desk lady at night. She was amazing. She was overwhelmed by the previous holiday and was still a champ. Give her a raise!!! Roaches everywhere in the breakfast area. I do not recommend eating or even drinking coffee there. I feel like whoever the owner of this hotel is, is way to cheap to take care of their employees, pay them fairly, and to keep this place maintained. They want to charge higher dollar but keep it looking like a motel 6. Do better!! If you want people to spend almost $200 a night, please make sure the roaches don't feel comfortable enough to crawl on top of our breakfast! ***If you can't see the videos of the roaches here, you can see them on other review sites.

No, I do not recommend this property.

This hotel was over sold and just wanted me leaving when I came to checkin. I waited there for 2 and half hours until the manager came from her home and fixed the issue. No internet connection while my stay and I was told the WiFi was overloaded, needed the upgrade. The manager promised he would refund my points and give me one free night, but I have not see it after 1 month.

Need to talk to the manager again and I called twice at 4PM, but I was told the manager was not there and would call me back when he came to the office, but I never got any call from this hotel.

Do not book this hotel if you need Wifi access. Their signal is so weak you will not be able to use it on a laptop. I had my phone hooked up to it, but it wouldn't download a picture I was sent, so I had to get off the Wifi and just use my cell phone service. The picture came up instantly. The hotel staff was pretty obnoxious about it, too. I took my laptop to the front desk - twice - because I was told I didn't know how to connect. No apologies from the staff when it was shown that their Wifi wouldn't work for a laptop.||Do not book hotel if you would like maid service. We were there 3 days and never saw a maid. Anywhere. You know how when you stay in a hotel you see maids working during the day? Not at this place. When we first checked in, our room with 2 queen beds had 1 towel, 1 washcloth, 2 hand towels and no bath mat. We had to go down to the desk and get extra towels. ||Do not book this hotel if you would like your key card to work. We had to have it re-activated every day during our 3 night stay. No apologies from the staff, either. Just excuses as to why it was happening.||Do not book this hotel if you expect to have the breakfast pictured on their website. They had a pancake machine that didn't work. They had an oatmeal warming container with no oatmeal. (They did have a handful of raisins and some brown sugar sitting out for it, though) Like hot tea instead of coffee? Bring your own. They don't provide it.||Like to be greeted by a friendly face when you first check in? Forget that. Eugene was almost rude when we checked in. I don't know why a hotel would hire a person this distant and cool to work the front desk.||There are other options in Natchez besides this one. I suggest you explore those before you spend your money at the Holiday...
