Checked into the property this past Friday afternoon. Upon check-in, I was informed the gym is currently closed, which was the beginning of the disappointing stay. There was no early communications or notices from the property that both the gym (& pool) are currently closed for renovations. I got up to my room and it was stale and warm. The bathroom looked fairly clean, but I noticed one towel hanging on the towel rack alongside the sink was not folded. This was already an indicator that maybe that towel wasn’t changed out, which I then felt confirmed by a nasty brown spot on the towel. The shower is another problem- it get “warm” enough to shower, but not hot. Even turned all the way up it is just warm enough to not ruin your morning completely. The air conditioning was horrible. The room was hot and stale. I set the thermostat to 69 at first and it still felt hot hours later. I eventually bumped it down as low as it goes, 65, and I can assure you it never dropped below 72 degrees in the room. It was hot every night, and just plain uncomfortable. Day 2 housekeeping changed the towels and made beds etc. I came back to the room and noticed on the folded towels, they left a bar of soap (which was not there on day 1, another reason I don’t think the bath towels were cleaned that day). The towels left behind day 2 were just as gross, and I have included a picture of the second stained towel that resembles someone wiping their bottom on the towel. Lastly, and the most minor, is the TV is so quiet that even on 100 volume it is still very low and hard to hear. (I’m 29 years old, no it wasn’t my hearing). I can definitely say it was a crappy two nights of very uncomfortable “sleep”.

Rooms & hallway had a bad smell. I could get over the hallway but the room smelled just bad, very unpleasant. I don’t know if the carpets haven’t been cleaned in years or what but it was a deep funk. Then the pool was green muggy, you can tell it needed chemicals to clear it up. It wasn’t clear, just green and weird. Me and my children planned on spending Labor Day weekend enjoying ourselves and it turned out bad. I wouldn’t go in that water and didn’t want my kids in it. The towels in the pool area must not get washed regularly, they smelled funky as well. Like only the top ones were ok but the more towels we took were funky like unwashed for a long time. I felt so dirty while there and when we left. I was screaming for a shower and cleanliness. Everything we bring has to get washed cause I felt the smell of the hotel in our stuff. I would not recommend this place. The manager tried to make it right but the experience itself was bad. Not to mention they have signs up that say 9pm-9am quiet hours but cleaning people were there bright an early at 8am slamming doors from 1 room to another back to back it wouldn’t stop, we couldn’t sleep. It was ridiculous. I regretted staying there. Once again, don’t recommend.

I am willing to give a reward for the return of my items.||||I reached out to the hotel regarding the return of my belongings that I inadvertently left behind during my recent stay from December 25, 2024, to December 27, 2024. Due to heavy holiday traffic, my return home was significantly delayed, resulting in me sleeping most of Saturday. Upon waking on Sunday, I realized that I had left my Longchamp bag containing brand new luxury makeup (for a photo shoot that was later canceled) and several pieces of jewelry (valued in the 4 figures) in room #210.||||I contacted the hotel at 11:08 AM on Sunday to report the missing bag. Tierra, who answered my call, confirmed my identity and informed me that the lead housekeeper with access to the lost and found was not in. She suggested that I call back the following day.||||I followed up on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 9:50 AM and spoke again with Tierra, who remembered my previous inquiry. She informed me that the lead housekeeper was still not in, but Isadora Silva, the General Manager, was present and would check with the housekeeper responsible for my room for my bag. Ms. Silva was to return my call.||||When I had not received a call after two days, I contacted the hotel again on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at 9:57 AM. Tierra apologized for the lack of follow-up from Ms. Silva and directed me to her voicemail, where I left a message. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive a return call.||||I plan to provide an update within the next 30 days regarding the status of my items and whether I received any communication from Ms. Silva.||||While I acknowledge my responsibility for leaving behind my Longchamp Le Pilage Top Handle Bag containing valuable makeup and several pieces of jewelry (valued in the 4 figures), I trust that the hotel has protocols in place to assist in the recovery of lost items. But this is the world we live in. I know for certain I left my bag in the hotel room. Due to the large size, there is no doubt that the housekeeper found my bag. Whether she claimed it as hers, shared it with others, or turned my items over to hotel staff for return to me which didn't happen, in my opinion it was a nice enough "find" that whoever has it has discussed it with others.||||If anyone has information regarding my belongings, I encourage them to contact the Neptune Police Department's non-emergency line at (732) 988-8000 or to reach out to me through Yelp, Tripadvisor, or other social media platforms or directly to the hotel. I am offering a reward for the return...

We're two people Ages: 83 years old and 74 years old

On day 2 of our stay, in the bathroom there were only 2 clean bath towels and 2 wash cloths. This means there were no hand towels for washing of hands or to use as a hair towel for short hair after a shower. On day 3 of out stay, (Sunday), we left the room early and anticipated returning later in the afternoon to a clean and tidied room with renewed towels and wash cloths in order to get ready to attend a Wedding Reception. However, when we came in later that afternoon, the room was untouched and the dirty towels were still in the bathroom. With Housekeeping all the way at the other end of the hallway, I took it upon myself to take the one wastebasket trash bag, and the dirty towels down to the Housekeeping staff and verbally requested 2 bath towels, 2 wash cloths and 2 hand towels. The Housekeeping staff individual did not speak any English and it was difficult to get my needs across. I finally did get the needs across to her and returned to my room with 3 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 2 wash cloths. So for Sunday night's showers we were set. However, the other more serious problem in the bathroom was the absence of any "anti-slip" strips in the bottom of the bath tub. I myself found it difficult to shower each time but managed to remain upright throughout my showers on Friday night and Saturday night. That was not the case for my 83 year old husband who upon attempting to step out of the bath tub fell flat on his back and was unable to get himself upright without my help. Fortunately for Holiday Inn Express he was only bruised and did not suffer hitting his head or breaking something. Having said all this, it definitely makes us hesitant to consider staying at any other Holiday Inn Express for our own safety. Hopefully, the corporation of Holiday Inn Express will take this review seriously and make appropriate safety changes in the bathroom to prevent something serious happening to any...

Upon checking into my two reserved rooms, we found that one of the rooms had an issue with the TV, an error message came up on the screen. We called the front desk and were told it was a known issue in some rooms. We asked to be moved to the room on the other side of our second room. That evening after we were unpacked and the children were sleeping, we found that the shower in the new room didn't work. So I showered in the second room, but found that the shampoo and conditioner bottles on the wall were empty, so I just used body wash for everything. The next morning, I told the front desk and they promptly sent up new bottles of toiletries, but just said "awww" about the broken shower. Breakfast depended on who was giving out the bags, one employee gave one of each item, one gave 2 pastries and 2 bars, one gave just a bowl of cereal and a nutrigrain bar and pastry but no water bottle . It seems like the full complement was a bottle of water, a nutrigrain bar, a bowl of cereal (no milk was available) and a pastry. They don't provide any coffee in the room, but when I asked for K cups for the keurig they gave them to me promptly. The room was mostly clean. To use the pool, the front desk took our temperatures and then personally let us into the pool room. My kids really enjoyed the pool and it was nice to have an indoor pool for the winter. When we were there, we were the only ones in the pool, but there can be up to 14 people there. I'm guessing that the issues in the room were because there hadn't been anyone in those rooms in a very long time because of COVID and they hadn't been checked before being given to us. Just check that everything in your room is functional before you settle in, and check that the toiletries aren't empty, just in case. It's too bad because the hotel is nice looking and a little effort in maintaining the rooms would improve the...
