Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Norfolk — Hotel in Norfolk

I had a very disappointing stay at the Fairfield Marriott in Norfolk, Nebraska. The air conditioner in my room wasn't working, and the thermostat malfunctioned, turning the air conditioning into heat. I tried several times to fix it myself before calling reception at around 10:20 PM. They informed me that no one was available at the hotel to help and offered me a new room instead.

I had to move all my belongings on my own without any assistance from the hotel staff. To make matters worse, my kids were already asleep, and I had to wake them up to move to the new room. The whole experience was incredibly frustrating.

In the morning, I complained to the manager, but all I received was a simple apology with no offer of compensation. I am very disappointed with the poor service and lack of care shown by the staff. I would not recommend staying...

As someone who works in HVAC, I am extremely confused by their heating/cooling system. When their heater in the room reaches above the desired temperature set on the thermostat, it turns on the air conditioning. So it can be 0 degrees out, and suddenly you are blasted with cold air. Instead of the system just shutting off and not heating for awhile, as any other heating system would do. For a hotel that boasts "sustainability", this is incredibly inefficient as well as incredibly uncomfortable.

Overall, the hotel is pretty nice and new. The staff has been helpful, but details like this shouldnt be overlooked. There is no way to contact Marriot about this problem, and I have no idea why they think this type of heating/cooling system is a good option. There is absolutely no benefit to this...

We booked multiple rooms here for the Norfolk Gun Show that was at the DeVent Center this past weekend. Our stay was a 10/10!

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay great and they were all very personable. The staff was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions.

The draft beer/wine in the lobby was awesome! Great selection and an awesome addition to Norfolk. Kolby was excellent at assisting us and showing us how everything worked.

The rooms and entire hotel was very nice. The complimentary breakfast had a great variety and the woman working always had the buffet fully stocked.

Everyone in our group was extremely pleased with their stay! We will definitely be staying here again opposed to the Divot's Lodge where we had booked...
