Wish I could give zero stars. Staff is completely inflexible and rude - won’t even talk about Jordan’s lack of empathy and understanding and her “Karen” type attitude to problem solving. Rather than offering any solutions her response to every solid argument was “I understand, but it’s our policy”…offering no solution to help with our situation,
If you find yourself on a business trip to North Las Vegas just keep on driving. This is NOT a business friendly hotel.
I got called on a business trip less than 24 hours before I had to be in Las Vegas. I lead a team of people that travel throughout the US. It is common place for us to book hotels “sight unseen” we rely, as most people do, on pictures and descriptions we have stayed mostly to the Hilton and Marriott chains in our 21 year history of doing these projects and now I have a good taste of why we work with hotels who cater to frequent travelers. Based on what we saw on the website (large seating area) we thought this would be ideal for us to be able to gather and work together while we were there…boy were we wrong.
We packed up the car and drove the 6 hours to Las Vegas. We arrived at the hotel that afternoon. The first thing we did when getting in town was call the front desk to see if our rooms were ready.
Instead of a friendly greeting and a yes for sure (we were only 30 minutes before regular check in) we got a “our policy is that check-in is at 3:00 pm, your rooms are not ready”. At that very moment I should have known this would be an experience to remember.
We decided to forge onto the hotel anyway and take a peek around and maybe even set up and get some work done while they finished setting up our rooms (while we were there others were allowed to check in, I thought this odd, but did not say anything).
As soon as we walked in I saw a door that lead to the are of the hotel in the pictures. It looked perfect. It had outlets, and tables and plenty of seating. The sign in the wall said 6:30 - 9:30 (no am or pm listed).
We walked in and moved toward one of the tables with an outlet. Right as we did a member of the staff turned the corner and said “you cannot be in here this area is not open” the door was open and I pointed out the sign and she said no that is only morning hours. We looked at each other as we have stayed at 100’s of hotels and all of them allow people to sit in these areas any time of the day as they are considered “common areas” similar to a lobby. (Yes I can already here the thoughts from business travelers reading this…BUT WHY…well as you will see IT’S POLICY like was the answer to any other logical question I asked).
I told the woman there was no way we could work together here and we would need to find another place. I sat down and started making phone calls and rearranged our trip and our hotel moving is to a near by Hilton property who had no problem getting us in and taking care of us. I did not even need to call them to see if we could use their “dining space” as they are an ACTUAL hotel who caters to frequent travelers.
I went up front and asked to please cancel my reservation as their archaic app would not allow much functionality. The gal at the front desk said that she would be happy to, and then she informed me of their policy on charging for one night if you don’t cancel within 24 hours of the reservation. I reminded her that I had not even made the reservation 24 hours earlier. She said she understood but that it was their “policy” to charge and that there was nothing she could do about it. So I asked her who I could speak with and she referred me to Jordan…Oh Jordan yikes! And of course she was not there and I would have to call in an hour when she arrived. I agreed and left to the Hilton property where I was welcomed with open arms given a preferred parking spot and immediately given keys to my room along with some cool water as it was hot.
I called later on and the answer? No sir we have to charge you “It’s...
Read moreThis was by far one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in! First off the hotel is located in a very industrial part of town. When we first walked into the hotel it smelled of sewer and waste. Then when we got to our room it just continued to get worst from there. The mattresses should have been replaced 10 years ago and squeaked anytime you made any kind of little adjustment. The pillows were awful as well. They were like little half pillows and not even the normal full size. Then there was the noise insulation of the walls. We stayed in room 324 and you could hear everything and I mean everything that was happening in room 326! The first night we were there the guest in that room was blasting their music and talking on the phone until about 2:00am in morning, so I ended up not getting much sleep that night. I was going to ask to change rooms but I have a 2 year old that was in a pack n play and a 6 year old, so it honestly would have been a lot to pack up all of our things and move to another room. The next night I’m pretty sure that room was empty, but then Sunday night a couple arrived around 11:00pm and we’re getting busy until around 3:00am. Luckily my children are sound sleepers because you could hear EVERYTHING! I went to the lobby to see if they had ears plugs but unfortunately they did not. The receptionist did offer for us to change rooms but there was no way I could have changed rooms in the middle of night.
Additionally, Sunday morning the cook didn’t show up until 7:45am so there was very little breakfast options available. The receptionist that was working Sunday morning was absolutely amazing and did her absolute best to try to get breakfast coordinated for everyone.
Besides all of these negatives, the only positive of this hotel was the staff. Everyone was very friendly and so sweet my girls. Needless to stay we will not be staying at this hotel ever again or any Best Western for that matter!!!
This definitely is up there with the top worst hotels I have ever stayed in!! I really would like my money back as we paid around $600 and this hotel was not even close to being worth that, you can stay in some really nice hotels for $200 a night.
Update on 6/7/24 to my review, Just got off the phone with manager who advised they were not refunding me for my entire stay just one night of my stay, so if you ever see this on your review o just don’t want anyone to be confused. Again we will never ever...
Read moreI stayed here during my visit to CES 2019. The area looked handy from the booking process as it was only a 10-15 minute drive south into the famous 'strip' - so I'm going to rate my stay on the following :
Staff = Very friendly and helpful when required. Nothing bad to say about them.
Location = This venue is in an industrial type area with a freight train rail just behind it - which can often be noisey of an evening / early morning time. In terms of location to other parts of Vegas, very ideal and only a short drive to the 'strip' and an even shorter drive to Downtown (Fremont Street, etc)
Car Park = Plenty of spaces to park your vehicle and always hassle free to enter and exit.
Room = Adequately sized, we had the queen room which houses two king size beds, a TV, fridge, microwave, iron, office table and chair. There was a bathroom and shower which was clean overall with no complaints, although the shower pressure was a bit weak for my liking.
Breakfast = This was included in our stay, although to be fair I was disappointed in the lack of options. I have both a dairy and lactose intolerance - so whilst I appreciate not everywhere is going to cater for this, with Soya Milk and Vegan being the 'in thing' now - I would have thought I could have had more choice, but alas - not. Every day saw a fresh waffle (make your own), scrambled eggs, boiled eggs and a turkey burger looking things. The first day there was potato rosti's then after that it was some pork and potato mixture (not sure what it is called) - there was also pork sausages, bread (with a toaster) and muffins and a selection of cereal.
I was hoping to have seen more healthier options and some more chicken / beef options - rather than just pork. You wouldn't go hungry during breakfast, but for me personally, it was really a matter of - eat whatever you can make with the limited selection.
WiFi = The inclusive Wi-Fi was very good with an average download speed of 10mb and good upload speeds, no complaints with this at all!
Pool = We looked at the pool, and that was about it. The pool looked like it had seen better days.
What I stay there again? - I wouldn't stay there out of 'choice' - but I certainly wouldn't turn it down if I had to return at...
