On March 27th around 10:25, I went into the establishment to purchase two pina coladas because they're my wife's favorite. I was playing some music on my phone at a low enough tone do not disturb the other patrons at the bar. After receiving the drinks and also giving a tip to the bartender I was given a smirk, and was told in a bold tone that I cannot be playing THAT music in here emphasis on THAT. If I was asked to turn down THE music or was ask to turn off THE music to not disturb other patrons PLEASE, it would have been ok. But instead I was giving a feeling of being looked down upon and was told specifically that THAT music cannot be played in this establishment. Thinking it was a joke I simply replied okay. Then I was told again even firmer this time that I can't play That music in this establishment. I began to laugh same you can't tell me I can't play THIS music. Bartender then replied "that she has a right to refuse service to anybody and she has a right to state that". I surely respond with "you are correct you do have the right to refuse service to whom ever you like but you cannot specifically tell me that I can't play one type of something over another type of something". With more than a few chances to walk away from her bar with both my drinks, tokens, and my change I just shook my head as she was getting ready to say the same thing over and ask her to just give me my money back. The bartender stated shortly after that well you can leave. Smiling through this hole interaction I asked her shortly after receiving my money back and stepping away, "so if I was playing any other type of anything are you stating that it will be okay". Shortly she realized how she was stating what she was stating she then said "no you cannot have outside music playing in this establishment". I completely understand rules of establishments and perhaps it was my fault allowing this individual to even have an opportunity to show how ignorant she is. A lack of customer service skills and understanding of people with an even worse sense of compassion allow her to show her true form. It is crazy how alive and well racial ignorance is. a lack of proper use of simple vocabulary to create simple understanding is nuts. I will never go to another Bourbon Street or any NRS affiliate... IE Dotty's or anything under its umbrella.... they have way too much money to not properly train simple customer service say and dues too ignorant individuals they always hire... I'm done with THAT...
Read moreMy experience was not a good one. I walk in for after work get together with my co-workers and was quickly stopped and asked for my ID which most definitely is understood and then after that I was asked to leave my bag at the front door. As I complied I walked away and as I was walking away I noticed that no one ie security camera anything to that effect not watching my bag so I asked the gentleman and I used their term very loosely what was being done about the security of my bag his reply was nothing. So I go and put my bag in my friends trunk and as I'm coming back in I look on the outside to make sure there isn't any policies which to my surprise there is not anything listed whatsoever on the building on the front door any of their postings that they have up that states anything as to you have to have your bag at the front door or leave it in your vehicle something along that lines. I asked that same gentleman when I went up to get a drink if there was a manager I was told no I asked if I could get a phone number he threw a business card at me. Now the worst part of the story is the fact that I actually called the 1-800 number mind you this was Friday and today is Wednesday and I have not heard anything from management which is totally unacceptable! For someone to have a business and wants the business to thrive and people have complaints and you don't contact them back in a timely manner is completely unprofessional and unwanted. I will never ever in my life give any money spend any money or even talk let alone look at another Bourbon Street for the rest of the time that I have here on this earth. I know that sounds extreme but due to the fact that I'm highly upset because of the simple fact that no one can make a quick phone call to me take care of my situation I would never ever set foot in their establishment again not that they care. Good luck all who venture to this particular location let alone the...
Read moreI LOVE Bourbon Street Bar! The staff at night is awesome. Laid back atmosphere.... the one on E Craig Rd on swing and graveyard shift is super awesome. Visit on swing and my fav blond bartender with her smile and attitude and her partner BOTH are professional and super friendly. They are good at what they do! They def remember each patron and with me they know I love my Dos Equis! I wouldn't recommend going to the one on Lake Mead though on swing shift. Idk her name older blond head lady I think Karen....terrible. She is always rude to me and a few other females I've seen frequent there. She never asks if I want a drink, but rushes to card me like some cop out racial profiling. She is it friendly, purposes ignores me, and if I tell her what I'm drinking I HAVE NEVER ONCE GOTTEN IT. I've always had to go back and ask someone else. She is terrible! Overall, the female bartender with the glasses who's bartender for 20+ years on days and a few others the guy on swing that works with the RUDE BLONDE FROM HELL is super cool very attentive and professional. This is just my opinion...not at all hating! I go to various Bourbon Streets all around the valley quite often and except for that very rude, cold as ice blond named Karen I'm almost sure thats her name on Lake Mead n Rancho. She is NOT at all an asset and a huge turn off. It's bad when you are excited to go out chill, drink, gamble and have a winning attitude just to turn back around and leave and go home because you see Karen and your whole mood just goes sour and you not go elsewhere BUT GO HOME...because she's just so intentionally toxic to some of the black female customers that come in! Other than that BOURBON STREET IS MY FAV...
