Location was great. Service was professional the few times we used it. The problem was everything else. When we got to our room (5th floor) I went onto the balcony and watched a woman changing a toddler's diaper poolside. When she finished, she took her washcloth she had been using on the child and rinsed it off and wrung it out in the pool. That set the mood for the rest of the week. I understand that the area went through a severe hurricane in 2018, because I was booked to go there THAT WEEK and they never called to tell me the power was partially off and there was no A/C. I only learned this after calling to confirm/cancel my stay. I mentioned this because nearly every room door showed signs of stress bending from the outside. When I got settled in, it took at least 3-5 minutes to get warm water to the fixtures. The face of the refrigerator and dishwasher were starting to rust. The curtains were frayed. There was an odd odor that I MIGHT attribute to the condition of the A/C unit that necessitated constant air freshener administration (see photos). In looking at the photos, can someone tell me HOW you can change that furnace filter?? The light fixture had begun to rust in the bathroom as well as the bedside lamps. All the 3 way bulbs were burned out so that only the middle wattage worked. There were no pot holders, scouring pads, baking sheets, or kitchen cloths. If you needed toilet paper, towels, or linens, they were available from 10-2PM by request on the 2nd floor. They were very accommodating about that. The coffee maker was for K cups (we brought drip coffee and filters). The dishwasher would not dispense the soap properly and we always ended up with half the soap still in the holder after the cycle, so we just threw it in the bottom of the dishwasher. The refrigerator ice maker had a leak in the fill pipe so when it made ice it leaked water onto the freezer floor. The entire floor of the freezer box was covered in ice after our 6 day stay. The cabinets all had rubber silencers that had long ago deteriorated and caused the doors to stick, so I ended up putting pieces of cloth first aid tape over them. Some doors were misaligned and others had hinge adjustments that were loose. Dining room chairs were wobbling so I went to Harbor Freight and got an Allen wrench set and tightened them before one of them put me on the floor. Other than the A/C and appliances issues, most of the things that I pointed out here could have been addressed in a few hours by a competent maintenance crew. I just feel that the management has neglected this facility to the point that it has become a laughingstock for membership owners like myself. It seems they think they have a cash cow and are going to milk it dry, and it does make me reconsider my ability to attend the next member's meeting in person.

This location uses deceptive advertising. On the website it’s called Ocean Club Resorts a Ramada by Wyndham and when you get there, a different mane on the building. The name on the property is Peppertree Ocean Club Resort. This place is NOT a resort! The location is in North Myrtle Beach. This place is old and its rundown, and in need of a lot of work and repairs. On entering into the driveway, you can see the front office building with the paint is peeling off the wall. This is not the only place where paint is peeling off of walls. Paint and plaster is peeling leading to the guest room in the hallway. The cement has fallen out of the ceiling, water is dripping, causing puddles on the walkway to the room. THE ROOMS ARE NOT CLEAN! The dust covers everything in the room; you can swipe with your finger. The thickness of dust is a health danger for anyone with respiratory issues. The furniture is worn and nasty. You would not want to sit on it. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The toilet backed up and there is no maintenance to call for help. They give you a number to call at check in if you need help after office hour, but the voice message state that this phone is not setup to receive message and then it hangs up on you. There were roaches crawling through the unit. The draperies were torn, and you had to force them open. There is mold and mildew in the bathroom and other areas in the room. This place is very disappointing. What you book on a website and what you actually get in person, and for the price that they’re charging for over $1000 for four days is robbery. It’s very deceptive the pool if you stand on the upper floors and look down is dirty one of the hot tubs didn’t work but the next day it did, but you could see it was still dirty and slimy at the bottom. I suggest if you come across this place Ocean Club Resorts a Ramada by Wyndham do not stay here! It’s nasty! It’s dirty! There was lots of smoking weed throughout the property. Although it maybe(?) legal is should not smoke weed everywhere and in front of children, The noise level of things scraping across the floor above our room was aggravating, DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR CLEANLINESS OR COMFORT. It’s dirty. It’s rundown and it’s disgusting.

First of all, the sign in front of the property says “Peppertree Ocean Resort” - which is not the same name as their Google business profile, so I thought we were lost. The main office area closes at 8 PM, so if you arrive after that, there is a good chance you will need to wait a while. The front desk staff were friendly and kind. They allowed us to upgrade our room for $175. …but the upgrade was not much of an upgrade after all. The room was so small that I could literally stand and put my hand on the ceiling when you first walk in. I felt extremely claustrophobic. The layout of the unit was really awful. There was a huge wall upon entry which blocked the beautiful view of the beach. Our “first impression” of our upgraded room was that they had left a black banana, moldy strawberries, and a random tomato in the refrigerator. The appliances, paint, furniture, carpet, etc. are all extremely dated. Our room actually had holes in the wall! And the door for the bathroom cabinet was broken. The sliding glass door to the outdoor deck had an ancient makeshift lock on the top that wouldn’t lock. My daughter was terrified that someone would get in since we had no way to lock the sliding glass deck doors. The only plus about this hotel was the location. I just don’t understand how you can have prime real estate right on the beach and then not take the time to actual invest in the upgrades necessary for maintaining your property. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that one day, our room key wouldn’t open, so the maintenance guys had to break the door down with a crow bar. I was lucky that they were there because he said the last time that the key card door batteries died, the person had to wait 4 hours for someone to come let them into their room! Moral of the story: We will never stay here again. And I wish I could get my money back.

Never again- First evening, kitchen counter had 3 roaches. Called the front desk, they offered a room switch or Spray- we figured no point in switching since the likelihood of roaches 🪳 was everywhere. They sprayed while we went for groceries. The roach 🪳 problem continued in a slightly diminished capacity. I persuaded my husband to stay since bad weather was approaching. We put all our non canned foods except some snacks in the refrigerator and dining table to prevent infestation. The second day we found one of our cracker bags on the table had been chewed in the corner. Once again call to the front desk, they said they had never heard of a mouse problem. I am surprised since one of the reviews stated that there was a mouse issue. They came and set up sticky traps saying it was most likely due to the extreme cold weather. Now all our non canned food was in the fridge. Dishes had residue on them. I usually wash everything before use anyway. However decided that we would only use dishes that we washed and placed to dry in the dishwasher since the roach problem continues on the kitchen counter. No hot water. Just tepid to like warm. We called to complain, we were told the water tank is on the other side of the building so let the water run in all the faucets for 15-20 min. Tried that, water was still tepid. Finally boiled water on the stove and somehow washed quickly with a pot of water. The 🪳 roaches come from next to, behind and top of the fridge. They also disappear near the stove and counter junction. They hide underneath the artificial backsplash tiles. While the dishwasher was open I saw one get in it. When you’re getting away, who wants to worry about whether your food on the counter is going to be contaminated or infested. How do you clean a counter ( fake by the way, just linoleum covered to look like marble) where roaches have walked all night? Packing my bags on the table while shaking everything to make sure I’m not carrying stowaway bugs to my home. The property may be in a good location, but the infestation is unacceptable. We are timeshare owners and I’ve never visited such a poorly maintained unit. It really needs to be condemned. So far, we have not been bitten by bed bugs yet. The front desk has been nice but the property manager is definitely absent and delinquent in doing the needed. I wouldn’t...

We just got home from our week long stay and have mixed feelings about our experience. Let me start off by saying that the location is absolutely amazing and the front office staff was super friendly and helpful.

It is right on the ocean with beautiful views and easy beach access. The linens on the beds were clean and we also noticed that the cabinets and countertops in our unit had been updated since our last stay, which was a nice improvement. However, we talked to others and could see in the windows of other units and not all units had been updated.

However, several issues made the stay much less enjoyable. First, when we entered the room, there was a strong smell of smoke. Even after using air fresheners, it seemed like the smoke was coming through the vents, possibly from other units. There was also a noticeable smell of weed around the resort, which was disappointing. There is no washer and dryer in the unit, which is inconvenient for a beach trip. We knew this before we came, but didn't expect for the linen exchange to be a problem because it wasn't the last time we came. There were hardly ever clean linens available when we went to exchange ours. Some days we went 2 or 3 times to check with no success. We were only able to exchange our linens 2 times during our week stay.

The rug in the living area and the carpet in the bedrooms were extremely dirty—after just an hour walking barefoot, our feet were black. For a beach resort, it might be best to remove all carpet and opt for flooring that’s easier to keep clean.

The master bathroom had some maintenance issues—the toilet made a gurgling noise, the tub drained very slowly, and the water pressure was so low that showers took much longer than they should have. The water pressure in the other bathroom was so much better!

The pool area was nice and enjoyable, but the pool furniture is definitely showing its age and could use updating. They also need to fix the hot tubs as only one of them had working jets.

With some attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and ventilation, this resort could be a top choice. The location and friendly staff are big positives, but a few updates would go a long way in improving the guest experience. It has definitely gone downhill since our last visit. We would love to come back as the location is amazing, but it will need some TLC before...
