IGA North Myrtle Beach SC — Local services in North Myrtle Beach

Typically when I enter this IGA in summertime, you can expect friendliness and fast service, unfortunately this week was anomaly. My sister was getting toiletries, waters, and a 16 pack of beer for her husband, while I waiting in the car with her crying baby. When checking out the older blonde short hair cut women on 6/26/25 around 9:15pm was extremely rude for absolutely no reason to my sister. She quizzed my sister on questions about her age and state, instead of examining the ID. She told my sister that she does not verify if the IDs are legitimate, and just asks questions from what she sees on them. After haranguing my now crying sister, she says "don't be all upset at me". I expect an apology from IGA from their rude cashier. This is the opposite of who you want representing your company. A cashier is the last person and one of the only people who give shoppers an impression of the company. I understand there are underage kids in this area trying to get alcohol, but my sister is clearly above 21. A teacher and a new mom....

Loved the light house you can walk up inside the store. Doesn’t make you feel like it’s a iga. A lot cleaner than most I’ve seen. Only 2 problems I came into contact with. Went in for ice cream. The lady behind the counter didn’t act like she wanted to help me and my family. She was to busy trying to get off she made us wait 10 minutes. Well before closing. The ice cream was great once got it. My favors was Dr Pepper float, my kids had mint chocolate and chocolate chip cookie dough and rainbow and chocolate. Of course we traded back and forth. Definitely chocolate chip cookie dough won for me. Second problem I came across was cashier didn’t want to i.d me for alcohol even though I was paying she asked my husband his birthday instead. And no I had him put the alcohol on the counter for me because I wasn’t going to carry it since I was eating ice cream. Other than that, well put together store...

It appears that quite a few people have had good experience at IGA 212 Sea mountain Hwy north myrtle Beach. Unfortunately my experience leaves my family tainted. During our check out the owner (found out later) approached just our register and ensured that every item was scanned. Literally screaming at the cashier to make sure he rung and scanned each item. No other check out customers at the time received this attention. Constantly distracting the cashier on at least 3 occasions to scan the bottle water on the bottom of the shopping cart. Even after we kept telling her that he already scanned it. She then tell the bagger to walk us directly to our vehicle. We were completely embarrassed. We spent over $100 dollars at her store but felt like we were thieves. That is just our story. Goes without saying that this impacted our vacation emmensely. Incident...
