Me and my Ex drove 5 hours to see our son in hospital and our stay here was a disaster.
At check-in we were given room 126 on the first floor and when I opened the room door the hot air and humidity hit me in the face like a load of bricks.
The A/C was on but blowing hot air which meant it wasn't working even though the controls were set correctly.
Talked to the man at the front desk leting him know the A/C had failed he said "you show me" and so I did. He unplugged it for a few seconds plugged it back in fiddled with the controls for a while. Turning to me he said that's its normal temperature. So I asked then why is it boiling in here I know for a fact the air coming out of the unit vent should be around 50°F if its engaged and working properly and that everyone could tell it wasn't anywhere near that.
He charged our room for number 215 on the second floor and the air conditioning in that room did work and it was nice and cool.
But our problems didn't stop there. At 22:30 aka 10:30Pm for 12 hour folks. Shes trying to sleep and I hear loud music playing while I was using a PC at the desk. I step outside the room and can here its the couple in room 216 across from us along with most of the other rooms being loud too.
I go down stairs to the desk and tell the same man from earlier the whole 2nd floor is jumping like a block party. That quiets down for a bit. Then at 23:00 11:30pm the couple in room 218 starts arguing and once again I hear it like I was in the same room with them. I will give the man some credit as I didn't hear him through the door before I stepped out to figure out where the noise is. The woman was cursing and yelling and again its like a block party on the floor.
Back down to the front desk I go. I told him look I know this place is cheap but the noise has to go. He seemed really annoyed that I came to make another complaint. Both times the first floor was quiet and silent every time I walked to the front desk.
I will never understand why people have to act a fool in the middle of the night or why they have to be so disrespectful when others are trying to sleep. Furthermore I should not have to deal with management that gets annoyed at you for having to come down and get them to do their job.
There was also a air conditioner in the hallway going up a flight of stairs that was on but had no air coming out of the vent at all and you could smell a burning or burnt smell...
Read moreThis building is falling. •toilet flushes in reverse because of the lean my room had. •the floor in my king bed room had about a 2x2ft soft spot with a hole under the carpet (2nd floor). •the shower base sounded like the floor was going to collapse under it. •the hallways have holes and soft spots throughout that you can literally trip on or fall through. •room was supposed to be non smoking but my wife and I had to run to a local store to buy candles and febreeze. (The air then tasted like vanilla) •the front desk couldn't use the card I used to reserve the room so I had no choice in what bank account I used. •my room with a SINGLE bed did not have bugs. •my room had some exposed wires just capped off in the open •the fix to a unsafe room was to move to a room with 2 smaller beds.. the reviews were showing bugs in the double bed rooms so we decided to just stick it out. •unfortunately there were not any other places to choose from, which I can see why this one was the only one available. I didn't expect the area to be booked in the middle of January in the middle of the week. My mistake for not planning way sooner. (I did book 1 month ahead) •I will not be attempting the breakfast.. because why would that make this experience better? If I could leave a review without a rate I would. City is nice though. This is the type of super 8 that will meter give them...

Uneven bricks on what could be a cute little walk way. Dirty outside of the entrance. Shabby newspaper box. Lobby got better, but noticed the Out of Order sign on the Juice dispenser. We knew then that the “breakfast included” was not going to be much if anything at all. We were right. It was prepackaged sticky bun and a yogurt. The gentleman at the desk saw us take the luggage rack out to the car. We loaded it up and asked him where the elevator was. He said we have no elevator to the second floor rooms. ? So we unloaded the cart and carried everything up the steps to our room.
The carpet on the stairs was so dirty it was a Little shocking. The hallway carpet was better but had an odd smell. The room was a lot better. There was a fridge, microwave and a coffee pot.
No ice on second floor. No vending machine for snacks or water anywhere in the hotel visible for guests.
We let ice melt in our cups overnight to have a sip of water.
The gps had issues with the location. It may need to be listed with coordinates.
The price ($75) was lower than the better hotels but was still too much for what...
