GORGEOUS place to stay. Each villa is owned individually so you will be renting yours from an individual rather than the property itself (it seems as if there are managers that handle a number of properties but I did not spend time learning about the inner workings of this place).
Some of the most incredible views I have seen in this area! You are right on one of the quieter Ko Olina lagoons -- Ko Olina is one of the two major areas to stay while visiting Oahu (Waikiki being the other). It feels much quieter, more upscale, and family-friendly, but it is further from many things than Waikiki is. The lagoons are beautiful and the trail that runs along the beaches from the Four Seasons to the marina is an amazing place to take a morning run and an evening walk. You'll want to do it every day! Since this quiet property is the only one on Lagoon 2, the beach is much more relaxed than the Four Seasons/Aulani lagoon and the Marriott Vacation Club lagoon. Try snorkeling!
Pools are gorgeous -- quiet, heated lap pool is open 6 AM-9 PM, and beautiful, unheated lagoon pool is open 8 AM-9 PM -- this pool was pretty chilly for my taste in early March, maybe 80 degrees. There are 2 hot tubs by the lagoon pool and one by the lap pool -- the hot tub near the bar and the one by the lap pool are both heated to (I overheard) 103, and the middle hot tub is the "family" hot tub which is heated to 99. There is a beach bar serving drinks and snacks until 8:30 PM. There is a fitness center as well.
The villas themselves are gorgeous and upscale inside. Having a washer/dryer makes such a difference on a trip like this. Particularly love the "Selling Sunset" vibe of sliding the patio doors all the way open and creating indoor/outdoor space.
The only negative, which wasn't a big deal, was that the HOA (they call it "AOA" I think) likes to leave "courtesy reminders" sharing that you have accidentally violated some complex rule relating to parking or leaving towels on the patio overnight or something else you didn't realize...
Read moreOur family of six had amazing week at the Beach Villas. Our three-bedroom villa was much less expensive than renting three hotel rooms and allowed for priceless family time in the spacious kitchen/dining/living area. The balcony was spacious and provided beautiful views of the lagoon pool and ocean.
We loved the ocean front bar that also serves snacks and pre-made light food. The beach was clean and the lagoon was safe for kids. Nothing was every crowded at all.
The resort was very peaceful compared to the other hotels in Ko Olina. Quiet time starts at 9pm on the dot (winding down time starts at 8:30). I saw lots of people respectfully enjoying cocktails by the pool throughout the day and evening, but at 9pm everything quiets down. The good news is that if you want to continue to party after 9, there are several restaurants and bars within walking distance of the resort.
This is a condo-type complex, not a hotel, so there is no store or even vending machines on site. There is a medium-sized ABC grocery/liquor store less than ten minute walk and a Target with full grocery/liquor store about 10 minute drive away.
There are some rules you have to follow with the balcony- no towels, clothes, or beach chairs left out. We got a friendly reminder slipped under our door when we left a beach chair out overnight, but that was our fault- we just forgot to bring it in. I understand they want to keep things looking nice.
We are so happy we chose Beach Villas at Ko Olina and hope to return...
Read moreBeach Villas at Ko Olina AOAO offers a mixed experience that balances between some great features and a few notable inconveniences. We stayed in unit 602 and overall had a pleasant time, but there were a couple of issues that impacted our stay.
The location is fantastic, with amazing beach access and beautiful surroundings. The amenities are top-notch, including well-maintained pools, hot tubs, and a fitness center. The grounds are lush and beautifully landscaped, creating a relaxing and tropical atmosphere. The proximity to the beach made it easy to enjoy the ocean and breathtaking sunsets every day.
However, there were a few drawbacks. The parking situation was quite a hassle. The stalls are very tight, making it difficult to park larger vehicles. This added unnecessary stress every time we returned to the villa.
Additionally, the dishwasher in our unit was broken, which was inconvenient. While the unit itself was comfortable and well-equipped, having a functional dishwasher is a basic expectation, especially at this price point.
Despite these issues, we still had a great time. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the overall environment was peaceful and enjoyable. If the parking situation and maintenance issues were addressed, it would significantly improve the experience.
In summary, Beach Villas at Ko Olina AOAO has a lot to offer with its amazing amenities and prime beach access. However, the parking hassle and the broken dishwasher in our unit were...
