If you're looking for a truly great massage, look no further than Omaj!! I was very fortunate to have Jen for my appointment and boy does she deliver! Signed up for a 90 minute deep tissue massage with a 30 minute foot reflexology massage. That was 2 hours of pure bliss. Jen is truly gifted, she knew what my body needed, instead of just a deep tissue massage, she incorporated Thai style massage - deep penetrating pressure that literally took out the tightness from wherever I needed, stretches that absolutely loosened tight muscles after a 14 hour travel day from the mainland. She found every tight muscle and tendon, I swear my soul left my body during my massage and left my mind adrift in total bliss. I get massages all the time, Jen's ministrations by far is the BEST that I've ever had.
Quick note about the location. Omaj is located downstairs in the Ko'Olina Golf Clubhouse. After you park your car, head to the bag drop off on the right side of the clubhouse (if you're facing it), walk on the path to the right and you'll see a set of short steps up that shows signs to the golf shop. Immediately to the left of those steps is a set of stairs that will lead you downstairs to Omaj. Let the sound of the fountain guide you.
Omaj is a place for people who are looking for a truly great massage, not the "spa" experience. If that's what you want, your hotel has an overpriced one that will gently pat you down, give you some aromatherapy and apply heat to your body to release tension. If what your body and mind needs is true healing through massage therapy, please find Jen and book yourself time with her. You will NOT regret it.
Another note, the ambiance at Omaj is rustic compared to your hotel spa. Omaj reminds me of the good massage places in SE Asia where it's just you, the massage table and your therapist. You'll hear the birds chirping along, the occasional jet flying overhead (Ko'Olina is on the flight path to HNL airport), the soothing sound of the fountain in the front room and pure heavenly silence. There may be spa music, quietly muted and certainly not obnoxious. The focus is on you and what your body needs.
Also note, Jen trained every therapist at Omaj and runs a massage therapy school as well. You cannot get a BETTER person than Jen to help you. Highly recommend booking a massage day after you arrive. It will get the kinks out from that pesky...
Read moreGood massage but disappointing and misleading location and ambiance. We had assumed this was a part of the hotel grounds and would have spa quality you might expect. It is more like they had an extra space after thought on the side/basement of the golf shop building and wanted to squeeze out some extra money from a tenant so they threw together a bunch of garden walls and some river rock and stepping stones for the floor. The "rooms" are partitioned heavy curtains that you can hear others through. It's not a very private or spa experience. It's more like getting a massage in a nicely decorated alley. It's not what I was hoping for on my birthday and very misleading. If the massage therapist Sophia hadn't been so good or nice, I would give this a...
Read moreFINALLY!!! Found a place where they understand deep tissue! Unlike the fancy spas with all the fluff, this place is no non-sense get the job done place where you are not in a private room but with curtains that is located in bottom of the golf shop. I had no issues and didn’t even recognize that there was ambient noise. My therapist, Jen, knew that I’m an avid golfer and requested deep tissue/sport style massage which between her bionic thumbs, elbow, stretching & walking on my back relieved the tension (lots of cracks and releases). This was a true Thai massage! I felt amazing after my 2hr session and will definitely go here over going to the spa at Aulani because i very rarely will find someone that is willing to as...
