OYO Hotel Mustang Silver Spring FL — Hotel in Ocala

If I could give this place a negative 10 review, I would definitely do it.

First off, the pictures on the website are very misleading. They look NOTHING as on the websites or any booking apps that you see this hotel through. When I first booked, nothing on the site said about paying for extra people. The owner said it was $20 per extra person. We paid the $20 and then he changed up and said it was $40. I was not going to pay anymore money to this raggedy hotel. It was not even worth what we paid for. Then ontop they ask for cash deposit. One of the locals that lives at this hotel, said they scam people out of money even if the room is properly cleaned and nothing is damaged. It’s a way to make money off of people that are unaware when they book at this hotel. Once we received the key card to the hotel room. The room smelt so musty, stains on the sheets in the bed and pillows. The ac DID NOT WORK. The bathtub was pealing and the tires had dirty suds on them. Floor has hair and dust bunnies around as if no one lived there. Some of the furniture had prior damage to whoever used to stay there. Overall experience was horrible. Even when I paid the $20 for my extra person, the owners started talking in their native language and staring down at us as if it’s our fault they didn’t relay their “supposed policies” that they have in place. They refused to give me my deposit back due to extra people. We were barely there due to how ghetto the place looked overall. People sitting in dirty clothes outside on the benches and smoking INSIDE the rooms. So much for “non smoking rooms”. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Very unprofessional, very unclean. And as the last day of check out, a shootout happens literally infront of the hotel and works towards the hotel next door where cops blocked off all roads. Gun fire sounding like fireworks and the owner standing outside after being signaled about the situation going on and LAUGHING ABOUT THE SITUATION. As it’s a funny thing that they are used to. People sitting outside that could get hit form the gun fire. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I hope NO ONE ELSE falls for this scam of a hotel!! And I DO HOPE the owner sees this! Disgusting all around. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!

I made the mistake of booking this motel for 1 month before looking at the rooms. Fully expecting my room to look like one showed on the website I was disgusted when I opened the door to my room. The odor alone made me gag. Cockroaches everywhere. Dead cockroach under my daughters pillow. Exposed plumbing, outlets shorting out, horrible paint job in room. I ended up spraying my room for roaches and super cleaning it myself. I booked at a discounted price through zenhotels and they tried to act like my reservation did not go through. They told me to book through their site only. Sorry but the site is $80 per night. No way is a room there worth it. I booked because I could do it online and the site made it look nice. Stage Stop next door offers weekly rates of $360 and monthly of $1200. They are cleaner and roach treated. If I knew about it I would have stayed there instead. I brought my ESA pets with me and the owner and manager did not believe my pets were ESA. They wanted SO badly to charge the $15 per night per pet. The manager was irritated and said "there is no way you have that many ESA animals. It is not possible". I explained that yes indeed it is possible and I have no reason to lie. Finally I emailed them the letters for all of my pets and they left me alone. The only thing that was positive about my stay was that it was quiet and no one bothered me. The air conditioner worked well. Overall beware! You have been warned! Not even worth $60 per night. Do not let the website and pool sucker you in like it did me. Go to super 8 across town for $75 per night because this place is not worth almost $100 per night. Oh and when it finally came time for me to check out of this dump I was told my deposit would be refunded within 5-7 days. Well guess what, weeks later and I still have not had it credited back to my card. No way there was damage because the room was cleaner, smelled better and looked better when I left vs when I arrived. I should also add that it takes at least 5 minutes for the water in the showers to get warm. Window in the bathroom was wide open with no screen when I arrived. The roaches were definitely the worst thing. It was hard to get comfortable due to being on alert for roaches. We killed so many. After I sprayed they thinned out quite a bit but never fully went away. Please do not waste your money here. It might be good for a night if you are desperate and do not...

I don’t like to post bad reviews but this one has to be noted and hopefully spare someone of of the disgust. It’s supposed to be a non-smoking room but as soon as we opened the door it wreaked of marijuana bad!!! Room was very dirty with dust on lights and some no light bulbs or just didn’t work. Used piece of soap in shower along with previous tenants hair. No hangers to hang clothes on the rack. Poor repair jobs and bathroom ceiling looks like it a about to fall. Sheets and blankets are nasty. Either they don’t know how to launder bedding, it’s 40 yrs old or just don’t wash them. They were notified that we would be arriving late. When we arrived at 12:30 am no one on office. Pushed button a ton of times and finally found a phone number to call. No outlets by bed to charge phones. Only 2 outlets in bedroom. One behind fridge and other one in corner by window. If you want soft clean towels this is not your place. They are thin very rough and only got 2. No floor towel or mat when you get out of shower. Shower overflows onto floor. Soap…. Well they offer a tiny rough thing that is supposed to be soap but couldn’t get anything off it unless you rub it for a few minutes with hot water. Useless. Bring your own hand soap. If you want a clean room, don’t come here. If you want a quiet nights sleep, don’t come here. If you prefer nasty dirty places to sleep. This is your place. Pictures don’t show how bad it really is. After reading other bad reviews that were months ago, I see this place is NOT trying to improve their rooms. Towels are still like sand paper and thin and rooms are just as bad. Please stop telling people that you are improving this place when it’s clear that your not. I will not give this place another chance. Proof is in the reviews from others. It’s a shame that this place only cares about the money they are making off vacationers that have no idea what they are getting into. They also have a horrible deposit policy. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We need to help people stop being taking advantage of and close this place down or make them fix it up. Disgusting!!! Housekeeping never comes to clean room or change out towels or sheets.
