This is a terrific spot for families looking for a space to be able to spread our, be comfortable and take advantage of all the wonderful things Ocean City (and vacation life) has to offer. The suite was large and spacious. We are a family of four and went with two queen beds with a balcony view. Upon entering the room there was a sitting room (similar to a living room) including a sleeper sofa, super comfy chair and a small table with four seats, perfect for breakfast or enjoying a snack. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and dining ware and included a sink (with dish detergent) a dishwasher (with dishwasher tabs), a full sized stove and oven and full sized fridge (and a Keurig coffee maker). The bathroom was large and has a great shower and whirlpool bathtub. The balcony and view were fantastic. Dolphins and pelicans were a regular sight and we could easily see the pools (and kid pools) to take advantage of lulls in the crowds (although there was always plenty of space!). There was also a great indoor pool (no lifeguard at this one, but relatively shallow).
There is a restaurant on site. We had breakfast there twice (kids eat free). The food was really good (great omelettes, waffles and French Toast). Service was admittedly a bit slow only because there were a good amount of people in the dining room and a relatively small crew. They rocked it and made sure we had everything we need. You just don’t want to go if everyone is starving and wants a very quick meal.
The hotel staff were terrific. Very helpful and provided great tips and super nice all around. Parking was always available between their larger lot and two overflow lots. It was quite close.
The location is fantastic. Close to great spots on the boardwalk and the beach was amazing. Did I mention the kid pool? Be prepared for a real treat for kids (and parents alike!). This pool includes two slides, a lazy river and plenty of space to spread out. Lifeguards are always on duty and they absolutely keep a watchful eye on things. Pool towels and plenty of lounge chairs are available for guests and I also saw people have drinks and food delivered from the hotel. The pool goes up to 4’ and is sloped well so little and older swimmers can safely use it with the sloping dips of the pool very gradually getting deeper and very clearly marked. There is also a pool in a separate spot more geared towards adults. Also a good spot with lots of lounge chairs and space even when it is busy.
I would absolutely recommend this hotel to families and couples. There is plenty to do on site, and the convenience of checking out Ocean City with short walks or drives (or the bus) is an additional selling point.
Thank you for a terrific vacation spot. We...
Read moreWe stayed here last night. The rooms were VERY clean. Staff was VERY nice. Some design flaws to the hotel itself though. The first and most obvious is the jacuzzi/shower. Getting out of the jacuzzi is an Olympic feat. If you are making a reservation I would suggest asking if they have any handicap rooms. I don't know if they do or not but if you are not very limber getting in and out of this tub is going to be hard. Plus everyone thinks a rainfall showerhead is luxurious until they have to use it. Especially if they don't want to get their hair wet. Trying to navigate around the water to get to the dispensers that are locked to the wall and you end up stubbing your toes on the water stopper. We technically had two rooms because they were adjoining. The first room had a nice rainfall shower head where everything fell straight down. The second rainfall shower head in room 510 was like somebody who doesn't know how to milk a cow was suddenly milking 35 cows by hand all the same time and streams of water were going in a thousand different directions.
The restaurant pool area is a little awkward. I can see the appeal of being able to see your kids play in the pool from the bar, but the area is so big that screaming kids echo in the room and if you're trying to sit down and enjoy a meal, it's not going to happen. I would suggest frosting the glass between the restaurant and the pool but leaving the glass that points to the bar from the pool clear. It's just very weird eating in a restaurant and having people half naked a few feet away that you don't know. And I'm sure it's weird on the other side as well. And because it's awkward, only kids were using the pool. Adults don't really use it because there's people literally fully clothed eating their food just feet away. Also in auditoriums a lot of them have noise absorbing things hanging from the ceiling, something like that might help with screaming kids disrupting people eating dinner. When it comes to the restaurant/ bar, expect large portions for food but small portions for drinks. I got charged $10 for a shot of liquor. And my friend's bloody Mary was in a small cup and they charged her $12 for it. The restaurant and bar staff though are very nice. Shout out to our waiter this morning for breakfast. I unfortunately forget his name, however he was from Romania joking that he was from Transylvania. He made our table laugh and poked...
Read moreWe have been staying at this hotel many times and always been pleased with almost everything. My wife is a Platinum member of the IHG group and sometimes gets some benefits out of it. This time we once again booked a 10 days stay at this location. When checking in the front desk manager was very nice and we got a top floor corner room. He did mention that there was a possibility that we would have to move to the opposite corner room on Friday and that he was working on keeping us in our room. We didn’t hear anything until Thursday morning when someone else from the front desk called my wife to tell her that we had to get out right away. I was out for a run and 2 1/2 miles away from the hotel. I cut my run short and came back to the hotel. The cleaning staff had been sitting outside the room since my wife got the call and was giving her attitude that they needed to get into the room. We had been fairly generous with $$ tips every day so no need for attitude now. I got back and we didn’t make a fuss about anything and moved to the other room as quickly as we could. In the afternoon our teenagers went to the pool and asked for towels. They were told that they didn’t have any and if the did they wouldn’t give them any as they weren’t staying at the hotel. We have already been here for a week for crying out loud and they are the same people working there. The hotel management handled this situation very poorly when they over ruled the front desk manager and created the situation and emergency. The front desk manager once again tried his best and gave us breakfast tickets. We probably won’t use them. The other morning we were seated at the restaurant and left after 25 minutes since nobody attended to us or even said “good morning - we will be with you shortly”. We will not be coming back here. We once stayed at the Hilton down the road and will be staying there for future stays although we won’t have any “Platinum...
