TC Studios hosted a paint night in the back room at the Black Flags Brewery in Columbia, MD. It was such a cool venue, especially since we were in the back brewing room, which was full of the beer-making equipment and was a lot quieter than the noisy front part of the bar (they were popular!).
Ali and Lindsay (unsure of spelling), along with DJ Jamie, were the best hosts. We were entertained and engaged the entire time and they provided us with everything we needed! All three of them were so fun and friendly, and I definitely want to be Ali's BFF because she's so charming!
We submitted our pet pictures a week ahead of time when purchasing our tickets, and by the time we arrived to the event, our dog was sketched out on a blank canvas with numbers the corresponded with the paints on our palettes in front of our seats. It was easy to find our spots, and the process itself was pretty clear (especially since I've done paint nights before) but they answered all of our questions quickly and knowledgably! I loved the flexibility of following along with their step-by-step instructions OR going at our own pace (my ADHD does not make me a patient artist lol).
Ali mentioned that it was Lindsay's first night emcee-ing for a group of us, and she did awesomely. The microphones were really helpful in making sure that everyone could hear, and they were constantly on the move to help with questions and suggestions on how to improve our pieces, along with encouragement and positive feedback.
If you weren't happy with the paint colors supplied to you, you could ask for new colors (or refills of what you needed). The two hours flew by, and by the time we finished and were ready to leave, we had two beautiful paintings.
Also, special shout out to DJ Jamie for the awesome music selection -- very often, he was able to coordinate the songs/lyrics with the instructions at the time AND the pet-theme of the night ("paint it black", "pink", "who let the dogs out", etc) which was hilarious and a very nice additional touch.
I'm so glad they're a traveling troupe because I'm not in Ocean City nearly as much anymore as I was when I was younger, and they pair with so many local places to host events that I'm sure I'll be able to attend another paint...
Read moreThis review was for the paint you pet event hosted by TC Studios at Crooked Crab Brewing in Odenton. My friends and I had fun, but there was a mix up prior to the event that unfortunately put a downer on the evening. I submitted my pet photo to the email address by the date required, but when I arrived my canvas had not been created.
It turned out that my friend submitted multiple photos and requested the photos be combined onto one canvas, but this request was interpreted as to put each of the photos on a separate canvas. I understand that this request was abnormal, but I wish the studio had provided customer service to reach out to her prior to the event if they were confused, or at least reached out to me to understand why I sent them a photo for this event. I ended up painting my friend’s dog and giving her the painting. It was a nice night, but I was looking forward to leaving with a...
Read moreWe had a blast thank you for a amazing night! My wife and I have been looking for something we both enjoy to do together. She is very artistic but also grumpy. I could see the smile through the mask, she was so happy and having so much fun. I couldn't of asked for a better experience for us. The best part is there are so many options, family, couples, singles, kids and such. Everything! The coach, coach Al, wonderful and professional. Her dj, was always on point with the music and kept the vibe amazing. It was such a memorable experience that I'll be sharing this experience with all my family and friends. Encourage everyone to have...
