Coastal Salt — Restaurant in Ocean City

I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant recently. I called ahead to check that they allowed service dogs inside, and was told that they do. Upon arrival we were greeted with dirty looks and told we had to sit outside. I told them that we had called ahead and he was a service dog, not just a pet. They told us we could sit outside or leave. I understand that a lot of people fake service dogs, but I have worked extremely hard and put a lot of time and money into training to have a service dog. He did nothing wrong to make them think he was a fake and its just upsetting that when we called it was fine and when we got there we were spoken down too and denied. Its actually ILLEGAL to deny a service dog entry into a restaurant. Personally, I gladly left because if they cannot abide by the laws I'm not going to spend my money there. I could see if my service dog was out of control, but we simply walked in and he sat like hes suppose to. It is absolutely awful that this place has no idea of the laws, and denied a person with disabilities simply because of a service dog. They also wanted to ask a million questions which is again illegal. This place needs to get it together and properly train their staff on the laws surrounding service dogs. It was embarassing because the staff was causing a scene and everybody was staring. I shouldnt be denied access for having a disability and requiring a service dog to accommodate my needs. It's highly illegal to deny service animals and I hope that this place provides proper staff training on what questions are allowed to be asked and the laws on service dogs so that nobody in the future has to deal with this there. I will NEVER come back to this place again, but do hope they straighten out so nobody in the future has an unpleasant experience there. I left the food rating blank because I was denied access, and the only reason they have a 1 for the rest of my ratings is because thats the lowest you can put. The staff caused a scene over nothing, and it was just embarassing. Please learn the laws so that nobody has to experience this again in the future and retrain your staff PROPERLY on...

TLDR: cold bland food, high prices, bad service (depends on waiter lottery but judging on the other reviews I think your chances are low)

Not too sure why so many people are here or why there's so many 5 star reviews. We even had to wait to get a table.

Food comes cold, my boy Jeff has like 2 or 3 tables and he comes over at the initial part, to bring drinks packed with 80-90% ice, the appetizers with no utensils, and the check.

Food: What we ordered for 4 people, total came to ~$150. Pretty overpriced for the portions and taste.

Lemonade Scallops - not much too say, came out burnt, didn't taste like much. Comes with 4 burnt scallops for $17.

Seafood Nachos - portion was alright, was actually somewhat warm. If you're forced to eat something here then I'd get this.

Beer Shrimp - doesn't taste like much, kind of sourish if anything. Not worth trying

Blackened Fish Tacos - alright entree compared to the rest of the food

Lobster Roll - comes basically ice cold, doesn't taste like much, wouldn't recommend. Asked my boy Jeff about it, cook intends to have it ice cold.

Drinks, whatever the berry lemonade is called. Not worth the money, too sweet and is like 2oz while the rest is ice.

Overall didnt like anything except the Seafood Nachos and maybe the Fish Tacos.

Service:

Each server has like 1-3 tables. Idk about the other servers but our guy Jeff didn't bring utensils, asked us if we wanted drinks and then never came back. Each time we had to ask a different server to bring us stuff. The guy also does tips tableside and stares you down while you select a tip. (We tipped 18% because we always tip, but I would have preferred to have done a much lower tip due to the terrible service.)

Atmosphere is pretty chilly late at night with most of the people already gone.

Overall would highly not recommend, the Wawa convenience store food we got on the way here wasn't the best but it was better than...

This was literally the worst dining experience I have ever had. I arrived with my 4 kids, our reservation was for 7:30pm. We were sat down right away but did not actually get greeted by anyone until after 8:15pm. It was over 45 minutes sitting at our table and waiting. Everyone around us was instantly given waters and silverware the second they sat. The one couple next to us actually ate their entire meals AND desserts. Finally I decided to get up and ask for service. The server came over then (not sure her name but she was probably 30s-40s brown hair).. no apologies nothing just asks us for drinks.. we put our food order in as well. At this point my kids were getting antsy and I was so focused on getting my kids their food I totally forgot to order the appetizers. And of course didn’t see our server at all to add them in. I even tried waving her down twice as she walked by, no acknowledgment. Another couple next to us as they left made a comment to me they couldn’t believe how long my kids sat waiting and were actually good. My kids Mac and cheese came out and it was freezing cold. None of them ate more than one bite. My steak was absolutely delicious and it was literally the only thing at this point that stopped me from freaking out. Our server did not check on us a single time during our entire meal for me to ask for waters or tell her that the kids food was all freezing cold. I am literally disgusted that I spent over $200 for this service. I was a server for over 8 years and I am very understanding and always a big tipper and literally never complain about food or anything really. I was honestly so disappointed here and I’m not sure if this is just a one off thing but...
