Review of Coral Beef Restaurant and Bar

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Coral Beef Restaurant and Bar, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual meals and special occasions.

The menu is impressive, featuring a wide variety of beef dishes that cater to all tastes. I ordered the crab, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The seasoning was spot-on, and every bite was a delight. I also appreciated the selection of sides, which complemented my meal wonderfully.

The service was exemplary. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. They made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive, which added to the overall dining experience.

The bar selection is also noteworthy, with a great variety of cocktails, wines, and craft beers. I tried the [ cocktail], and it was refreshing and well-balanced, making it a perfect pairing with my meal.

Overall, Coral Beef Restaurant and Bar exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu! Highly...

We ate here in September of 2018. It is a good location in a nice Holiday Inn on the OC boardwalk. You have to walk up a large flight of wide steps to get to the restaurant inside. It is a nice hotel. A pool is literally right in the restaurant, We were there for lunch. There were a few people at the bar and only a few eating in the restaurant. The food prices were not that bad really for the amount they gave you (large!). None of us finished our meals. It is not a huge menu. We have no complaints at all about the wait staff. Our major complaint is that the non-alcoholic drink prices are outrageous being like $3.50 for a soda (free refills of course). Come on, it should be $2.50 at most which is still a phenomenal profit.

We had ordered fries, pepperoni pizza, a plain hamburger and chicken quesadillas. All of the food was outstanding except the pizza which was below average compared to other boardwalk pizza. But you really should not go to this type of restaurant for pizza in OC. All in all I would come back here but just order water with the food next time. I have no idea what alcoholic drink prices were but they had to be high based on...

SLOW and questionable service. I realize I have a bit of unique situation but I had to ask it the tenders and pretzel bites had eggs due to allergies for my kid. The waitress assured us they did, and we should just get something else, without going to look. I asked her to confirm. She went to the back for 1 minute and came back saying the manager said to get something else. As there was still no answer and pretzel bites usually don’t have egg in these types of places I asked to see that manager. For the next 15 minutes our waitress avoided our table and the manager never came back. Eventually we gave up and flagged her to just order other food. When the food came out, (over an hour after our arrival) my kids’ burgers were fine (though clearly from frozen) but mine was charred with a relatively thick. When I mentioned it to the waitress and advised it was not what I was expecting for the money, I was told that they only had two setting on the burgers. I asked her to just take it off the bill and I ended up eating over my other kid’s left over $32 ribs. Those were...

We thought about having dinner here but saw the kids in the pool and changed our mind. We stopped in later and looked at the menu only to realize the food was much better than what we had for dinner somewhere else. However, the sound of screaming kids in the pool was horrendous. Whoever thought you should build a restaurant and bar around an indoor pool that kids would be using? And why are kids always screaming anyway?? Shawn was our bartender and he was fantastic. We did try the clam chowder and it was phenomenal. It had large chunks of clams and potatoes and was so thick and creamy with a hint of sherry. It may be the best clam chowder I've ever had. We asked when the pool closed and unfortunately it's open longer than the bar. So maybe we would get dinner to go here next time, because we sure had to drink a lot of drinks to drown out the screaming.

On a rainy evening we were stuck trying to find a restaurant reservation as most has issues with finding inside tables for those reserving outside seating and we were expecting a friend to visit so we opted for the Holiday Inn Restaurant Coral Reef. We have eaten there a few years ago, found the food average so were not expecting much else and it was again average but we were able to chat with our visitor indoors out of the rain. Lena R from Moldovia, our server was really good even though she and her other servers were kept busy. The restaurant is on the lobby level where the indoor pool is located. We all ordered flounders with cole slaw and the food was delivered warm but so bland we all needed hot sauce to add flavor. WE had coffee. Nice indoor tree so we also took pictures. Again average at best but available but good service.

Food was tasty with good sized portions. Cocktails were good. We sat at the bar and utilized the happy hour menu, which had a good variety and reasonable prices. 😋 I recommend the classic margaritas & the creamsicle drink. Also the crab balls & cheesy ranch fries! Alexander was our bartender and he was friendly and took good care of us. I only really have complaints about other patrons 😂 which isn't on the restaurant of course. The vibe overall just wasn't incredible or anything. It's a hotel bar & restaurant in the same room as a pool, so about what you would expect. I feel like they could add a little more decor, adjust lighting, add more seating, so I'm going with 4 stars overall.
